The ending felt so rushed and abrupt? And we get a five year epilogue that told us… nearly nothing? Not what Oscar is doing for work, what Theo is going to school for if he’s changed his major or not. If Kennedy went to school. Just… pregnant Kenny and them all happy while Kristen is a waitress. That’s it.
And then before that Oscar abruptly saying he doesn’t want to go to school anymore, with the excuse textbooks will keep his mind busy(or something along those lines) felt so cheap and thrown in? And even theo going to school was up in the air.
Also the attack from Theo’s dad was so sudden and abrupt I almost thought it was one of them having a nightmare about Brett attacking her I had to go back and make sure I hadn’t skipped a chapter.
I loved the first one so much, and was waiting so impatiently for this one I’m sad I didn’t enjoy it more.
Which all this to say the writing wasn’t bad! I love the authors writing, and she has a few other books I loved the shit out of, including the book before this, but the end of this one was definitely a let down for me. I would love another epilogue or side story where we actually see what they all got up to. 😭
I’ll still be keeping up with this author though, not gonna let one I didn’t like as much stop me from enjoying her other books!

Ok, I didn't read the first book as a lot of reviews said it was painful and so sad. So I skipped it and it was totally ok. I loved reading about the process of the FMC rehabilitation. The guys really redeemed themselves.
ARC Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️1/2 I won’t leave you. I’m gonna take care of you.
So much heartache. Redemption and healing. Those are the themes of this final book in the All These Broken Parts Duet.
Be prepared with an entire box of tissues, because Kenny’s journey to her HEA is not easy. I think my heart broke into a million pieces for her and her pack. It is an incredibly emotional read.
In rejected mates stories, I am sometimes left with the feeling that the males should have done more to earn their mate’s forgiveness. I was completely satisfied with their efforts towards forgiveness.
This remains a slower-burning and mildly spicy romance, with emphasis on the hurt/comfort aspect over spice.
I am not quite sure this can be referred to as grovel since the FMC is not cognizant for most of this book, but I'm calling it such. This book packed so much emotion and hope between its pages. It also brought the despair and helplessness. So much emotion in this duet.
This book wasn't as good as the first one, but I had to read it because I simply needed to know what was going to happen with Kenny. The pacing in this book is slower, but there's so much character growth, especially from her alphas, and I appreciated that all of them apologized and showed it through their actions as well.
Kenny deserves ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD. LOVE YOU GIRL!!!
This duology has me looking into more omegaverse books. This is exactly the type of ABO books I enjoy reading. I shall be doing research for more book hehe.
A bit slower than the first book, but a good story!
At the end of the first book, Kenny has succumbed to the poison left in her body from the attack. The truth has come out, and the guys are horrified by it. Unfortunately, it's too late for them to do anything about it, and she's going to be institutionalized.
The first half of this book is from the guys' POV, what they're going through, and trying to reach out to Kennedy. They try to make up for their mistakes in whatever way they can, even if they never get the Kennedy they've come to know and love back. It's not exactly groveling, but they have their work cut out for them. Since they can't exactly apologize to her traditionally the way she is, they're just there for her in every way they can be.
The series is good. I couldn't put the first one down, and the second one I struggled to read in one go, as well, but I eventually had to cave to sleep! Once I woke up, I was back at it until I finished! The only real critique I have is that it could use one more round of editing. The first book had some errors in it (example, Charles was written as Charle's and Charle a few times), and this one has a few as well. There was also one big inconsistency in the final chapter before the epilogue that I noticed, though perhaps some may miss it. If I were to ever purchase this in physical form, I'd hope another round of editing would be done first!
If you enjoyed Evelyn's "Bonding Trials" duet, I'm certain you'll enjoy this duet as well!
Thank you so much for the arc! This whole book was pure pain and yearning from the guys. They didn't leave her side and did everything they could to show her they wouldn't leave her again. Even if she wasn't all the way there to understand. I didn't realize that this was the last book and I kinda wish we had more of their relationship together after everything happened. Overall a good read that will make you cry.
Stellar ending to a heart-wrenching OV romance. Spice scene is good and not too much. A little quick with the knots but overall, it was perfect for them.
You have to read book 1- this is not a standalone.
4,5⭐️ I loved this duology. This one felt a bit less emotional than the heartbreak I felt while reading the first one. However how the pack cared for Kenny and tried to fix their mistakes felt so healing
🎶 “And I don't miss what we had, but could someone give. A message to the smallest man who ever lived?”🎶
Their mate is broken, locked away behind glass walls they can’t break through, and the pack is barely holding together in the aftermath of Brett Rivers’ destruction. But they won’t stop fighting—because Kenny is coming home, and this time they refuse to fail her. To save her, they’ll have to become the alphas they should have been all along, even if it means giving everything for the fragments of the woman they love.

Y’all, this book was low-key depressing to read. They spent an entire year trying to bring Kennedy back from that feral state—just a year of heartbreak, helplessness, and pain. She was completely trapped inside herself because of the trauma Brett caused, and it broke my heart. She didn’t want to come back to her mates because she didn’t feel safe, and honestly, who could blame her? I needed some happy, domestic scenes to balance it out, but instead, everyone was just miserable and barely holding it together. It was heavy. And then it hit me! They’re literally just kids!!!! Trying to figure out how to afford her care, whether to go to college, what their futures look like - it made everything even sadder. They never got to just be happy. We only got a few short chapters of peace, those little glimpses of what life could’ve been like for them. The epilogue was cute, sure, but nowhere near enough for the amount of pain we went through to get there. It didn’t feel like full closure.

The one redeeming thing was how devoted they were to her. They pined for her for an entire year, never gave up, and carried the guilt of how horribly they treated her in book one. No excuses, no games - they were all in on making sure she came back to them. It was tragic and beautiful in the most gut-wrenching way.

I spent around half this book wanting our main character back, and the other half regretting wanting her back.
I think this just was not the set up for me this time. I generally like this author, but this book fell very flat. They have half a book waiting on her to not be feral anymore. We just get the same scenes essentially on repeat while waiting for her. We get some flash backs but they don't add to the story at all. We see small sections of their parents and how they were all sad teens because of (insert parent issue) but it didn't really add depth to the characters and just felt like making up for the fact that she was feral and we didn't get any interaction with them. We also only get one flash back of Brett where he is kind of an asshole, which yeah I know we needed but he barely was that bad, and it just felt forced.
Then we get her back. She isn't feral anymore, and I realize how whiny she is. I almost forgot that because she was not a character for half the book, but woman they were there for a year for you every day. I know we can hold some grudges but really? still trying to give Theo shit? BE REAL.
then...after a whole first book and 96 percent of the second book we get a sex scene. The only one in an omegaverse book. From Oscars perspective and not super detailed. cool.
Honestly I just get frustrated because of the romance is not there then the plot or the sex needs to be and that did not happen.
Okay, not bad! Evelyn Flood's writing style is a very addictive mix of angst, comfort, and plot that definitely keeps the story intriguing. I liked that we saw more of the backstories for the individual male characters, for they felt all grouped into one in the first book. I still don't have a clear image of each guy in my head, so I wish the books were a bit longer in that regard. I loved the greater exploration of why each boy adores Kennedy, with great interceptions from past events.
While I liked the whole healing/grieving (because they always coexist) aspect of the first half of the book, it did feel slightly drawn out. I wanted more discussion on outward trauma responses -- especially in growing romantic relationships after the abuse described -- to continue Kennedy's journey. The whole "in heat" situation was also incredibly awkward for me... but as I said, the omegaverse does not normally call my name, so that could be a personal issue. Where was the emotional depth in that, though? Where was the vulnerability and emotional angst that we got glimpses of in the first book? I feel as though the books needed to either be longer or contain greater detail!
Once again, I don't know if I FULLY recommend this duology because it is VERY reader-specific. I trust you guys know what you like. The Spotify playlist attached in the end was fun, though! <3
Favorite Quotes:
"For those who find joy in the smallest places & For those who chose to breathe when drowning would have been easier."
"Some parents never leave. Charles and May, settled in their big house, with their family. Some are forced to. Jake's mom. Oscar's parents. And some probably shouldn't have been parents in the first place."
"There's a strange sort of torture in that realization. That even when our world feels like it's fucking burning, the rest of the world carries on. Like they have no idea what they've lost."
I deeply respect Oscar, Max, Jake, and Theo's dedication to bringing Kenny back to herself. They were unwavering in their methods, pushing back against a facility that seemed to have no interest in saving her. It was hard for me to think about what was happening to Kenny. She wished to be let go, yet they held on. And, I mean, I wanted them to, but...gah, it's impossible to explain. Just know, this is a journey that hurts.
I think my heart needed more at the end once they finally reached a better place. The healing for their pack had only begun, and I could have used more pages of them being happy. Regardless, my heart will remember the scars of Kenny's story for a long time to come.
(Should still read the series) ummm, I read it with high hopes especially since book 1 was a rollercoaster ride of tears and pain. The grovel..well.. as always, it’s subjective, and here, the grovel was showing up everyday knowing the person you’re here for may not even recognize you. That said, I hoped for more, some more pain and punishment but maybe that’s just me lol.
I would still recommend reading this series only because book 1 is super super amazing and I don’t want anyone to miss out on that awesomeness and pain (especially if you’re looking for a book to make you sob and cry cry cryyy)
While the emotional angst was compelling, the second book in this duet was not as fleshed out as the first. The writing felt rushed, especially in the second half. The men’s commitment was sweet and felt real, but Ken’s chapters after her recovery were rushed. I wish that the head of the board (can’t remember his name) was punished, and Theo’s dad’s punishment was elaborated.
2.5 - I’m sad to say the sequel didn’t hit the same. The first book was everything I wanted from a paranormal romance : fast paced, simple but gripping plot, and high stakes — it was really a page-turner.
But the sequel? Not as much. The pacing was all over the place. Kenny’s feral stage kind of dragged, and I wished we had more time to discuss her recovery. One minute she hates the pack, the next she’s back with them like nothing happened. Where’s the emotional fallout? The apologies? The trust-building? I wanted to feel them reconnecting, not moving on like nothing happened.
And that epilogue… I mean, can we really consider it as an happy ending? Everyone throwing away their careers for the pack? I get loyalty, but it felt a bit off.
Overall, the sequel just didn’t have the same magic as the first one, but it’s still a fun and quick duology!
