Fate (verb): Be destined to happen, turn out, or act in a particular way.
Jorian Elliott never lived a glamourous life. Between heartbreak and addicts for parents, she couldn’t catch a break from life’s blows. Things only got worse when her parents made a decision that would change her life forever.
Upon a fateful night, she ran into the man who broke her heart, Kaijiran Givens. While he believed it was fate, she wanted nothing to do with him. She quickly realized he wouldn’t give her a choice. Kaijira was persistent in repairing the pieces of her heart he’d broken. When he finally begins to piece them back together, an unexpected event causes him to lose hold.
Will Kaijira be able to repair the damage once again?
We jumped right into the drama with Jorian scared for her life, while being threatened and coerced by Silas. What the hell is happening? I’m only on page 1. Who is this man and why is he treating her like this I wonder. 🤯 Sending her off a mission that only serves him and his pockets, Jorian allows her fear to lead and goes along with the plan. However, things go awry when her target realizes what she was doing and confronts her, but they also recognize each other. What are the chances that your target is your ex-boyfriend?
Kaijiran reluctantly broke up with Jorian four years prior due to all that was going on with her parents’ addiction, and his mother in his ear about her ruining his life. It became too hard for him, so he broke his own heart along with hers when he walked away.
Kaijiran immediately recognizes Jorian and is elated as he feels fate has stepped in to bring him out of his misery. Life has not been the same for him, as he has regretted leaving her from the moment, he did it. However, Jorian does not see it that way. She is still reeling from the way their relationship ended she wants nothing to do with him, as she doesn’t feel he is trustworthy. She is furious with him trying to come back into her life now like everything is good. But she doesn’t have much of a choice since he is saving her from the devil she was with. He takes her away so they can talk. When she shares with him what happened in his absence, he is heartbroken and determined more than ever to change her circumstances and win her back. She is broken, and he wants to do everything in his power to lift her up and love her again. Kaijirian is the pressure baby! He was not about to let Jorian slip from his grasp again.
Jorian’s parents are straight trash. How could one do this to their own child? I know addiction is hell, but damn! Then to give her to someone who you knew would do her even worse than what she experienced with you. 🤬 My tear ducts are filled to capacity and threatening to spill over!! 💔
After working overtime to regain Jorian’s trust, and allowing her time to reconcile her feelings, they are on their way to being good again. However, when Jorian sees someone at Karen’s house, it triggers her, and she runs. But why run right back into the ish you just escaped from Jorian?????? Ughhhhh…… I couldn’t believe she allowed her emotions to let her make such a crucial mistake like that!! 😡 But Kaijirian to the rescue once again. For this to be a second chance love story, it really took me out with all the emotions it brought forth. Whew..... First ready by this author, and I really enjoyed it. 👍🏾👍🏾
I liked how we jump in then got a back story with the characters. This was a true second chance love story. Jorian's parents were trash af for selling her to her drug dealer and I was happy she happened to be with Kaijiran at the hotel, and he wasn't letting her go. When it came to seeing her mom, she asked him what was going on instead of leaving. Kaijiran little brother was about that life, and I love it. lol Overall, a great story.

My heart went out to Jorian and the things she endured from her parents and Silas. She made me upset when she reconnected with Kai, but I understood her feelings. I was glad that he didn’t let her get away again, and he helped her get through her situation. She truly deserved the happily ever after she got.
NTMA and I’ll definitely read again. I’m glad they rekindled things because Lord knows she needed to be saved but it always irks me when the betrayer gets to be the savior.
