David W. Adams is the author of 16 dark and atmospheric novels spanning horror, sci-fi, and dark fantasy. Born in Wolverhampton, England in 1988 and raised in Telford, David took a non-traditional path, leaving formal education to work full-time, before discovering his passion for writing.
His debut collection of haunting short stories was published in early 2021, born from the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, his work has been praised for its emotional depth, chilling atmosphere, and cinematic storytelling.
In 2024, his sci-fi horror novel *Horizon* won AudiobookReviewer.com's award for Best Dystopian Novel, thanks in part to the gripping narration by frequent collaborator Brandon J. Peterson.
David now lives on the Isle of Portland in Dorset with his wife, Charlotte. In addition to writing, he designs book covers and reviews books on YouTube and TikTok, where he shares insights into the craft and the indie publishing world.

⭐ "The Dark Corner" by David W. Adams was an unexpected gem that pleasantly surprised me in many ways. As someone who doesn't typically gravitate towards this genre, I found myself thoroughly engrossed in this book for several reasons.
⭐ First and foremost, I applaud the author's decision to introduce us to the Dark Corner Universe through a collection of stories rather than a single novel. This approach offered a refreshing change, allowing us to experience multiple perspectives and viewpoints, rather than just focusing on one or two main characters. It truly enriches the depth of the universe and keeps you eagerly flipping pages.
⭐ The book was not only great but also incredibly easy to read. Even though it's not my preferred genre, I found myself coming back to it every night, eager to continue where I left off. It's a testament to the author's storytelling prowess that he could capture my attention so effectively.
⭐ Among the various stories, "Galaxy of Pain" and "Dolly Mixtures" stood out as my personal favourites. Both showcased exceptional storytelling skills and delivered unexpected twists that kept me hooked, yearning to reach the end to see how they unfolded.
⭐ What's remarkable is that "The Dark Corner" is the author's first book, and I believe it's an excellent entry point into The Dark Corner Universe. Even if you're not particularly fond of short stories, I encourage you to give it a try. It serves as a fantastic introduction to understanding the world and characters, especially if you're considering delving into his first novel, "Wealdstone." These glimpses into the characters' lives are not to be missed.
As a new reader of horror, I wasn't sure what to expect, but The Dark Corner contains ten quick and easy to read stories. There's enough tension and suspense to keep you reading, plus enough darkness to be creepy without being too much if you're new to the genre like I am. I definitely recommend this book and will be looking into other books by the author.
Another brilliant book by David W Adams. The dark corner has taken us on another whirlwind journey full of horror, tales of ghosts ans with a twist in the tale. Have loved all of David's books. Give it a whirl and be prepared for a night of horror.
