This is part of the Austin Ace’s series, and I really enjoy this hockey team!

I’m a big fan of goalies, and Remy’s tenacious battle to stay in the game he loves was both heartwarming and heartbreaking to witness. Things get even more complicated between him and Coach Ollie when he starts living on the land belonging to Ollie’s ex-wife’s brother, adding to their already difficult relationship. Although Remy attempts to be casual with Sophie, he’s fighting a losing battle right from the beginning.

Sophie, a lovely woman, longs for independence from her famous father and brother’s overshadowing presence. Despite being underestimated and unseen, she seeks self-respect and recognition for her talent as a Luthier. Remy and his grumpy rescue dog, Beast, disrupted the convenient life she led, working and living on her brother’s mostly empty estate and only cat-sitting his cat Goober.

I loved watching the sparks fly between them. The strain and potential damage to both Remy and Sophie (professionally and personally) are evident, however, their powerful connection is uncontrollable. It was wonderful to see them both recognize and celebrate the best in each other. Goober and Beast’s cute interactions made the story even better.

Overall, this was a good read, with emotions, steam, laughs, and a great HEA for this pair. I can't wait for the next release from this author.
Thank you for the ARC, and my thoughts are my own.

This was definitely a sweet read, I don't think it falls into the enemies-to-lovers category tho, yes Sophie wasn't very happy to get stuck with Remy at the beginning, but taking into consideration the situation I feel like it was a normal reaction, however, their friendship involved pretty quickly.

But it was a sweet, quick romance, loved how sweet, supportive, and loving Remy is.
If you are a animal lover like me, this book will warm your heart.

My favorite players on any hockey team is usually the goalie. It takes a special kind of person to be able to make saves and a flexibility that I envy. It doesn't matter if you are the starter or the back-up goalie, it is a coveted spot that only the elite achieve in the NHL. Remy might be at the end of his career when he comes to the Aces but as a veteran player he has valuable knowledge to teach the younger generation of upcoming players.

Remy was once considered a protégé but an injury changed his trajectory and even though his rival had a better career with more trophies, Ollie still had it out for Remy. When Remy signed with the Austin Aces, his old rival was now his goalie coach. Remy's new team arranged for his accommodations because he had a rescue dog and an old friend of the owner offered his carriage house that Ollie's ex-wife also used as her workshop.

Sophie was an up and coming Luthier who was continually overshadowed by the men in her life. Her superstar father ignored her and didn't have faith in her abilities. Her music producer brother thought she lived off her trust fund and dabbled with guitar repairs. Her ex-husband was a retired NHL goalie who wanted to be involved in her life even though he was moving on. When she met Remy, he was the first man to believe in her and support her. They became friends slowly while their pets became an unlikely duo. Remy supported Sophie's career path and Sophie used her legacy to help Remy support the pet rescue he chose to help.

Remy had always lived for Hockey and whatever team signed him but after meeting Sophie he started to want more with her, he wanted to stay. Sophie was hesitant to trust another man but Remy was different from the other men and she decided to take the risk.

Sophie and Remy's story was well written and captured my attention right from the beginning. I loved how their pets stole the show quite often. I recommend reading this book and all tge Austin Aces books in this series. I would love to find a man like Remy.

Thank you to all the Austin Aces authors for the opportunity to review your books with an ARC.

This is one of my favorite books in the Austin Aces multi-author series.

Both Remy and Sophie live fairly normal lives within famous realms. Remy is the third goalie on an NHL team and at the end of his professional hockey career. While he had success early in his career an injury has left him unable to play at the top tier level in his sport. He is just happy to still have a chance to play hockey.

Sophie is the daughter and sister of music stars and the ex-wife of an NHL goalie, so she’s navigated life among the rich and famous, but she’s looked up upon as less than by her loved ones.

Seeing each of these characters live their best lives and trying to find their place despite being overlooked isn’t typical romance storytelling, but the grit and normality brings an extra weight to the story. I loved Remy’s work at socializing his rescue dog, Beast. He put time, care and effort into a growly, unfriendly dog which shows his compassion and what an amazing person he is. His relationship with Sophie gets off to a little rocky start, but I wouldn’t classify them ever as being enemies. They slowly become friendly neighbors, actual friends and then a casual relationship.

The progression of their relationship happens as each of them have to grow and get comfortable with opening themselves up. Remy chooses his relationship with Sophie and shows her respect and care despite the potential negative impact her ex-husband, his goalie coach could have on his career. Sophie has been overlooked and discounted most of her life - for being a woman or having the entertainer gene. Seeing her come into her own and stand up for herself was uplifting.

Definitely appreciated the heart and emotion this book brought to the series.

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

A book with a mischievous kitty and dog who are working to set their owners up while also causing them grey hair? That's always a fun read.

This story revolves around Sophie, a neglected daughter and Remy, a man who is just trying to find his home. Circumstances lead to them being around each other. They learn about each other and themselves throughout the book while dealing with some funny antics of their pets.

Remy is a goalie on Austin Aces, and he develops throughout the book as the loner goalie into a solid member of the team. Sophie is a woman on a mission to carve her own path and not fall into a family legacy, and she has a great arch throughout on finding her own boundaries and goals.

I enjoyed the way they both approached the romance between them with constant checks on each other and supporting each other in their different ways. They bring a very mature type of love story to this series. You can tell these two think before they act and are also very aware of their legacy in their own field. While they have their ups and downs, I didn't find the story to be one of turmoil or sadness, but just two adults who are going through very real things and having to navigate their feelings and emotions.

I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this amazing novel and am leaving a review of my own thoughts and feelings.

ARC Review: 4.5⭐️
Goalie Interference is a Austin Aces Hockey Club Novel featuring Daniel Rempel ‘Remy’ & Sophie Williams.

Remy is signed as free agent goalie to the Austin Aces hockey team and prepares to move to town. Due to his rescue dog Beast the team finds him an alternate living arrangement where his dog will be welcome.

Sophie lives on her brothers property mostly alone with his cat Goober. Sophie has a guitar repair shop in his ‘carriage house’. One day while she’s working a man shows up to stay in the apartment above her shop and she is instantly in a bad mood about it.

Remy wants his new team to work out since he didn’t have many opportunities left to play in the NHL. His new goalie coach has been his biggest rival for years and he discovers that he’s also his new housemates ex husband.

Remys dog and Sophie’s brothers cat strike up an odd friendship, which leads Remy and Sophie to spend more time around one another. They become fast friends but there just seems to be something special about one another that they can’t ignore.

Will Sophie’s ex cause Remy issues when he discovers he’s been spending time with his ex wife or will they find a way to be together ?

This book has a little bit of everything wrapped up in one package! The characters were relatable and the friendship between Beast and Goober were the icing on the cake!

Thank you Kim for the ARC!!

Remy is a backup goalie that is at the end of his career having peaked a decade ago. He’s not even sure if he is going to get a contract this year so when he does he doesn’t even ask where he just gets on the plane with his rescue dog to trail after him. He finds out he’s at the team that just hired his early career rival and isn’t sure it can get much worse when he finds out his new housing is on the same property as his rival’s ex-wife. Que all the drama! Sophie, the ex-wife, is a luthier with her workshop below Remy’s new apartment on her brother’s property and while she doesn’t appreciate him thinking she was an employee when they first met, she and Remy become friends and later with benefits.

I think these two might be my favorite couple of the series. They were both so down to earth and real with their struggles, the drama didn’t feel artificially manufactured and they handled everything like healthy and well adjusted adults, so refreshing! I loved that neither were a big superstar they’re just regular people with their own talents and finding ways to stand up for themselves and those they love. Both of their families kind of suck but they’re great. Really good, vanilla spice, passion that wasn’t overwhelming but was sweet and real. This was a really great close to the series.

I absolutely loved reading about Remy and Sophie!

Remy was signed to the Austin Aces as one of their goalie contenders, but Austin is also the team where his old rival, Oliver Trent aka Otts, works as the goalie coach. In the scramble of moving to Austin, the team finds Remy pet friendly accommodations in the carriage house of a friend of the team. What Remy doesn’t realize is that the other resident on the property who also works in the first floor of the carriage house is none other than Sophie Williams, sister to the home owner and Oliver Trent’s ex-wife. Sophie works as a luthier, but is usually overshadowed by her famous musician brother and father. Remy is the first person in a long time who sees her for her and not her famous family. They are attracted to one another, but with the end of Remy’s contract looming and the conflict with Otts is a relationship worth the risk?

I absolutely loved Sophie and Remy! Sophie’s feeling of being overshadowed by her brother was so relatable. I loved how Remy was focused on Sophie even when confronted with her family. I also loved the dynamic between Goober and Beast. They were completely adorable and the way that Remy was so patient with Beast was so cute.

Goalie Interference is Kim Findlay/s contribution to the Austin Aces multiauthor series. These books usually feature older, well established players. Quite a few of these players are on the downside of their careers. Remy is a goalie with multiple trades and teams until he's picked up by the Austin Aces. As their back up goalie. Sophie is building a career in the shade of a famous father and brother. They meet and bond over his grumpy dog and her troublemaker of a cat.
The animal's antics give a nice boost to the story. Sophie and Remy don't have an easy relationship, starting out at each other's throats. But there's also a very strong attraction. Both characters were likeable and you can't help but cheer them to their HEA.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

Remy is a hockey goalie nearing the end of his career. He gets a contract with the Austin’s Aces, but only as a backup and working for a very difficult coach, who hates him.
He has no roots and nothing definite in this life, apart from his grumpy rescued dog.
Sophie is a talented luthier, who lives in the shadow of her famous father and brother. She is the perfect example of a neglected and underrated woman.
They meet and bond over their respective grumpy and annoying pets, but are quickly drawn to one another.
A story that shows the not so glamourous life of a professional athlete – the uncertainty, the moving around, the lack of real and lasting relationships and its psychological impact.
A story of real feelings, insecurities’ and quiet but true love.
Thank you for the ARC.

Goalie Interference, by Kim Findlay, is an excellent piece of the Austin Aces Hockey collection. As with the others, this is a standalone novel that is part of a bigger set. Kim Findlay is a new author to me, and I must say that I am definitely a fan. Her writing is clear and concise with excellent plot mechanics and wonderful characters. Actually in this case Beast ad Goober stole the show! They were absolutely adorable! Of course, the story of Sophie and Remy was great too. I liked that their budding relationship had an outside influence - Oliver, Sophie's ex and Remy's coach. It made being together far more complicated. Overall, I highly recommend Goalie Interference and all of the Austin Aces Hockey collection!

Remy has been waiting to be called up; he's tried everything he can to stay fit and in shape for that phone call. When it finally comes and his agent doesn't give details, things start to click in his head. Because he's being sent to the one team where he and the goalie coach do not get along. For Remy, he will do everything in his power to prove to them all that he is the best goalie out there and that he's still got it. When he meets Sophie, something changes inside him. Sophie is tired of being in the shadows of her brother and father. She wants to be seen for what she is and what she has accomplished. When Remy sees her, she thinks, just maybe this is it. But sometimes best-laid plans don't work out, and sometimes they do. You will have to read their story to find out.

What a great story right here! I loved Remy and Sophie! 5 hot hockey stars!
Sophie has been staying at her brothers home, working on repairing guitars. Her father and brother think it's just a hobby, but she trained with the best, and that seems to be her calling, unlike her father and brother who were singers. When she finds out that someone will be coming to stay above her workshop, she's annoyed, how will she be able to work with someone upstairs! But when she meets Remy, and then his dog, and gets to know him through spending time with him, her heart starts to come alive again. Once she realizes he's her ex husbands rival, that will put some stress on them, as he is also Remy's coach.
Sit back and enjoy their story! I couldn't get enough of it!

Ahhhhh…the Austin Aces. Remy and Sophie.

From the start, I was rooting for Remy. A long-haul player trying to find what will be his last team. Plus, his love for Beast is just the sweetest.

Sophie is equally endearing. She’s so talented, but always overlooked by her father and brother. Then you have her ex-husband and his machismo.

When Remy and Sophie are tossed together, they form a friendship first. It grows to something more. Remy gives Sophie the respect she deserves and craves. Sophie shows Remy he’s more than hockey.

They just work. And I just love them.

Austin Aces score again.

A total fan of the series, I enjoyed getting to check in on the goalie this time. It was a solid enemies to lovers tail with a splash of animal comedy tucked in. Honestly, the animals in the Aces series always make me smile as much as the players.

It was enjoyable watching the chemistry grow between Remy and Sophie and it was a solid installment in the series. Was grateful for the chance at the ARC read; these insights are mine.

Goalie interference is so good. It has a plot set up of she’s his rival’s ex, but the unusual twist is the rival ex is also the MMC’s new goalie coach. It is always fun to read a little different takes on tropes. And Kim Findlay does such a great job. The chemistry between Sophia and Remy is just perfect. It’s a slow burn friends to lovers with some emotional complexity. And steamy times (though not the steamiest) I read an ARC, and I so glad I did. Pick it up, it’s worth a read

I got the ARCs for the whole Austin Aces shared world, of which this is the last book🥹
This was definitely a fun and light read! I took a while to finish it as I’ve been pretty busy and also I think I need a break from romance for a few books or I’ll be in a slump. I loved that the FMC forged her own path despite her family and that the MMC also struggles with his career🫣
I always feel like flaws are an important detail and I feel like it was achieved in this book. 🫶🏻

MF Hockey Romance

A great edition to the multi author ‘Austin Aces Hockey Club’ series.
This was a slower burn than some of the others in this series, but it was nice watching their friendship develop before anything else. Goober 🐈‍⬛ and Beast 🐕 were a great addition to this story lol
It was a well written and enjoyable read.
No cheating, no OWD, a bit of Ex drama (from only his side) no third act breakup with a HEA

Another great book in the Austin Aces Hockey Club Series!

Sophie always feels overshadowed by her famous brother and father. She wants to show that she can shine on her own. Remy is the backup goalie for the Austin Aces, but never lets them down. He is always on point and wants to make the most of the situation.

While getting to know each other and in their relationship they want to keep it a secret so that it doesn’t interfere with any other goals Sophie or Remy have in the future.

I was honored to be chosen as part of the ARC team. The story had my attention from the first chapter! Its so rare to see charaters that arent superstars or billionares and having mischevious pets who are determinated to bring they owners together is awesome for me! This story has everything you need : emotion, humor and spice!

I enjoyed this book. Kim Findlay did a great job. It was a solid slow burn friends to lovers tale, with some animal antics and an interfering ex who is also a team coach. Sophie and Remy were a realistic couple with real struggles. Overall, this was a delightful read, with a good blend of steam, emotions, and laughs. I can't wait to read her other books.

The Aces are back and this story was a hoot to read. Great characters, a return to the Aces, and a story that had me laughing hard at times and really wanting to slap Sophia's family really hard. But Remy and Sophia's love story from new friends to lovers was sweet at times and funny too. Some steam, some drama and great supporting characters and animals to keep things interesting

A really good book. Some of my favorite tropes in this were the forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and of course the hockey one. It's written well with wonderful characters. Plus the animals added a nice touch to the overall story.
