As a former therapist, I would not recommend inner child work for everyone. It will work for some, and others it will not. I’ve always felt that it was worth trying. You can give it a few sessions, or in this case, some reading, and if it feels right, keep going. If you’re going to try it with a book, you’ll need a good one. This book is a good one. First off, it’s not one of those self-help books that spends half the book trying to sell itself. There is little to no filler. The author lays the foundation of this therapeutic strategy well. The reader is given avenues for self-assessment and actionable steps on the way to healing. I would recommend this book in a few cases. One, if you feel like many of your problems come from your childhood, this book could be a good place to start. Two, if you’ve tried things like CBT and ACT, and they don’t seem to get at the root of your issues, maybe give this a try. Whatever you decide, if you’re thinking of inner child work, this book is a great place to start and I recommend it.

It teaches you how to deal with your self worth, set health boundaries and feel more at peace with yourself. A great read for anyone who wants to grow, heal and feel more confident with themselves.
