I'm finally moving further than the first time I read this. And even though I still remember the novel quite well, it's so interesting!
The 73rd Demon King arc was almost as heartbreaking as the first time I'd read it it the novel. And whatever is happening after is also really good! I'm usually pretty bad at imagining things while I read books, that's why I often use Pinterest (and catch spoilers.........) So I'm glad I can finally attach faces to some new characters and places.
Also, just wanted to say, Kim Dokja is VERY HANDSOME JESUS. For some reason in these chapters I see it again and again.
Kim Dokja tricks Shin Yuseung, the young child, into activating her skills as a beast lord, so that they can cross the river full of monsters. She turns out to be even more powerful than he anticipated. They need to defeat the last catastrophe, which will be Yuseung from the future of a different round, which isn’t at all confusing.
Before that, there’s the second support constellation selection. Dokja has made a promise to choose one, if there are enough subscribers to the channel. It comes close, but he dodges the selection with some trickery. It makes the constellations angry, and it comes to bite Dokja later.
Yu Junghyeok is already at the site of the last catastrophe, and he wants to stop Dokja from defeating her. Things don’t go well—for Dokja. It makes Junghyeok emotional and angry, but it won’t stop him and everyone else from getting killed, unless Dokja steps in in his unique way. But the catastrophe is powerful—and the dokkaebi meddle. The volume ends before things are solved.
This was an exciting volume, and on this third reading, I think I actually managed to make some sense of it. Onwards…
Took a break from the current emotional damage binge, only to read more emotional damage. The sunfish has a lot more room to grow. His reaction to the resurrection was funny though. The ORV bits were awesome, love the art and colouring on those. That damn Dokkebei really has karma coming his way. Looking forward to the next one.

I’m cheating a little because technically I read this in 2024. How can a series be this consistently perfect? I don’t know. This story is such a masterpiece.
Damn. It just gets better and better. This scenario's catastrophe has a fantastic backstory, but what's even better is her interactions and all the surprises she has in store for her.
It's moving. Seriously moving. And just when I think the story has peaked, it gets twisted yet again into something tragic and even possibly transcendental.
I'm honestly shocked. I've read a lot of great manga and manhwa, but this just goes ten steps beyond most. And it does it smart.
