Never Say Yes To Your Fake Husband

Rate this book
Married? Yes.
Happily? Not even close.
Because guess what…
I’ve never actually met my husband!
That was the term when I accepted the contract marriage.

Except I'm so over being "married" but single.
After a threatening phone call to my husband's lawyer,
One reckless night out,
A ridiculously hot stranger,
And a very unfortunate case of holy-crap-I-just-hit-on-my-husband later…
I’m screwed.

Because now? He’s interested.
Like, let’s-make-this-real kind of interested.
He says I can’t break the contract.
He says I belong to him.
And he now wants to play husband.
Like excuse me?!
But no, thank you.

Not falling for the billionaire stranger I married.
Not when he's still hiding secrets from me.
Not when he ghosted me for four years straight.
Not when his smirk is criminally illegal.
Not even when he looks at me like I’m cake.
Not even when he sends me a one-eyed, farting dog as a peace offering.

Just a few more months until the contract expires.
Until then, my anti-husband shield is staying on.

An unconventional marriage, quirky humor, and steamy chemistry all bundled up in one entertaining package.

I can't. Interesting premise, but the writing absolutely killed it for me. The way the author wrote the characters and the actual story so far are not drawing me in, it makes them feel way younger than late 20s and early 30s and the story doesn't really make sense.

Weland is 4 years into a 5 year contract "marriage" with a guy she has never met and she doesn't even know his name. She is living alone in a condo supposedly making her money off guitar lessons because no one can know she was paid to marry a stranger so she has to "live within her means" to not raise suspicion but this seems like a stretch. It would be more believable with a roommate.

She tells the lawyer she's tired of being alone and is going to hook up with a guy at the bar when she goes out to a bachelorette party with her friends. She then actually meets a guy at the bar she could be interested in and is trying to figure out how to ask him to wait a year without breaking her contract when her "friends" leave her behind to go to the next bar. This leads to her bringing Sterling home with her, leaving him alone in her house while she walks a dog she suddenly loves hours after not even wanting one, and then she invites this complete stranger to spend the night on her couch.

Sterling had to marry someone due to his aunt's will demanding he be married for 5 years or he loses his inheritance to his greedy cousins. This leads to him showing up to the bar because the lawyer saying Weland was lonely made him panic and he wanted to make sure she didn't actually hook up with anyone. He says he cares about her safety which was why he refused to let her get home alone in a taxi (because a stranger insisting to ride home with you is so much better, which she thinks about and dismisses) but has had zero contact with her since they began this arrangement 4 years ago. He mentions his cousins are suspicious but because there is no trail to Weland they can't prove his marriage is a sham? Somehow he has explained away her not attending any family events, no wedding, no pictures together, and them never even meeting her.

Good premise, blah execution

The premise is out there, but that's my favorite kind. The execution started well, but pretty quickly fell apart. The solution was not well thought out.

An Unexpected Love Connection to Heal their Hearts -
I was truly captivated by this heartwarming and at times heartbreaking story about Sterling and Weland’s journey from the marriage of convenience agreement, through the battle to keep their act of subterfuge secret, all the way to acknowledging their feelings for each other and finally having the happily ever after they deserved. The drama, intimate and emotional moments, had me glued to the ages and unwilling to take a break until I read the final word. I am happy to recommend this book for your next weekend reading pleasure.

I enjoy Lindsey Hart romances, and this one did not disappoint either. 'Never Say Yes to Your Fake Husband' is about a woman named Weland who has been married for four years but has never met her husband. She had needed money for her brother's surgeries and her husband, whose name she did not even know, needed a wife in order to fulfill the stipulations of a will that had something to do with his company shares. His having a wife protected his company. But after four years, Weland is feeling the stress of being lonely and says so to her husband's lawyer who acts as their go-between. She threatens to maybe look around for somebody at her friend's bridal shower coming up and the lawyer imparts this information to her husband. Sterling, her husband, is concerned when he learns this, and rushes to be at the bar where the bachelor party is being had. He has always admired Weland ever since he saw the video of her singing and playing her guitar. He had been very secretive about his wife's identity because he did not want her to be bothered by his greedy cousins who would benefit from knowing her identity. But, as he inadvertently bumps into Weland at the bar, he begins to talk with her and realizes that he can never stay away from her again. He thinks that she is adorable. What starts out as friendship quickly escalates and he knows he has to tell her the truth about who he is. She also tells him that she likes him, but she needs another year before she can see him socially. He tells her that he knows why that is and introduces himself as her husband. After her initial anger, he explains his reasons for his secrecy and asks for the permission to date her. Weland likes the idea because of their chemistry together but this new part of their relationship introduces problems because she hadn't told even her family that she was married and of course his cousins arrive to contest their married relationship. It is a cute story.

OMG!! I loved this one so much. After spending four years of marriage but no contact with her secret contract husband Weland is on edge. She contacts his lawyer Smitty and lays it all out to him, stating that she is going on a hen night and she doesn't think she will be able to keep to the contract and is lonely and needs a boyfriend. He contacts Sterling, her fake husband and lets him know the situation they have a discussion and as a result, Smitty turns up at Weland's door with a dog from the pound. His name is Beans, he has one eye, one ear and half a tail. He also has a horrendous problem of smelly farts! Meanwhile Sterling has flown to Weland's town and meets her at the hen night, though she doesn't know it's him. So begins their 'getting to know each other'. I absolutely loved this story, this is definitely my favourite in this series. I loved Beans and had some real laugh out loud moments with him and his smelly bottom. Also some emotional moments as Weland and Sterling find their HEA. All in all a great read, from Sterling's crazy cousins, Weland's family and the main characters.

From start to finish, this book kept me hooked with its compelling plot and charming characters.

The story revolves around a unique and humorous premise of a fake marriage, which Hart has executed brilliantly. The chemistry between the protagonists is palpable, and their witty banter adds an extra layer of enjoyment. The author masterfully explores themes of love, trust, and personal growth, making the narrative both entertaining and meaningful.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is when the main character exclaims, "Sometimes the biggest risks lead to the happiest endings.” This quote beautifully encapsulates the heart of the story, highlighting the courage and vulnerability that comes with love.

Lindsey Hart's writing style is engaging and fluid, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the storyline. The pace of the book is just right, with enough twists and turns to keep you eagerly flipping the pages.

Overall, "Never Say Yes to Your Fake Husband" is a delightful romantic comedy that offers laughter, romance, and a heartwarming ending. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a feel-good read that doesn't disappoint.

OMG I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard! Just about anytime Beans is in the room! So hard I woke my husband from a sound sleep. This is the next book in the Never Say Yes series.
Weland and Sterling are married..on paper at least...the agreement is for five years, there is only one year left to go...and Weland is feeling sad and alone. She calls Sterlings attorney and say some things she shouldn't. Sterling comes t check on her and discovers he really likes his wife. Together they decide to make it real. I loved their journey to each other. I loved the way they grew together and I really loved the giggles I got whenever Weland went off on a ramble in her head. Both characters are such sweet, good hearted people. I really enjoyed their story.  As I said this book is full of laughs, there is also a bit of sadness in the way Sterling grew up but there is so much love too. And then there's Beans! Just his description is enough to start me giggling...since I don't want to ruin it for you I'm not going to say anymore. ENJOY!

Lindsey Hart masterfully creates her characters with quirky humor, heartfelt tenderness, and steamy chemistry. Sterling and Weland navigate their unconventional marriage arrangement after finally meeting her four years later. It involves a gassy dog, one family with unconditional love and another family that is greedy. All of this combines to provide you with a fun and interesting very slow burn Romcom.
I am enjoying the books in this series. If you’re looking for a synopsis of the book, complete with spoilers, you won’t find it in any of my reviews. I believe the purpose of a review is to let you know if the author did a good job of providing us readers with a story that’s worth our time to read. This book is well worth the time as it will keep you entertained and interested throughout the book.

Sterling and Weland

This starts out a bit different..and honestly I didn’t mind. Originality is always a plus. Weland is talking to his attorney, her husband’s attorney. She’s been married for 4 years and doesn’t know his name, where he lives or works, or even what he looks like. Crazy right? Oh, and she can’t tell anyone per her contract so the only person she has to vent to is the attorney. So this particular day, she vents and she’s had it. The secrets, no friends, lying to her family, she wants a life, a family, she’s lonely..and she’s sick of it.

The first time Sterling saw Weland he was mesmerized. Now he needs her to save him, or he could loose everything. She just doesn’t know him.

Cute read. I’m pretty sure everyone can see where this goes but it’s still good. It’s a light, easy to read story, and quite entertaining.

Weland is miserable. She is into year four of a five year relationship yet has never met her husband. Due to a dire need of cash she married a stranger in exchange for money. Fast forward she is lonely and wants to feel loved. Sterling is her secret husband who needed the marriage so he did not lose his company due to a ridiculous inheritance clause. When he hears from his attorney how upset she is he flies in to meet her. However, she has no idea who he is and feels guilty about the spark between them. When the truth is revealed they have a long path ahead of them. I loved this book. I felt for both characters and understood how they felt. It was a joy to read them coming to life and seeing the positive influence they had on each other as well as the hot chemistry. I would definitely recommend this book. Another winner in the Never Say Yes series.

Imagine being marriage to a man for four years, and you’ve never met him and don’t even know his last name. A marriage of convenience with a different twist. He needs a legal wife and she needs money for her brother’s surgeries. You’ll adore Weland and Sterling and realize that they were made for each other. He knows who she is but knows nothing about him except his first name. What happens when she meets him and still doesn’t realize he is her husband? What happens when feelings develop? The author did an amazing job with the characters, they’re fun, a little quirky, sensitive and have great characters. Their families are opposites in that one is loving and the other, greedy. This was a cute romantic comedy that was a fun read. A happy ending and no cliffhanger. I received a free copy of this book via the author and I voluntarily chose to leave a review.

Unorthodox premise that unfolds into a very entertaining romance

Never Say Yes To Your Fake Husband is the fourth book in the I said Yes series. This was a really entertaining and funny story about Weland and Sterling. The story is well thought out and takes some interesting turns you don't quite expect, including the premise that kicks it all off. Weland is just the sweetest and most lovely young woman. She is someone you would love to have as a bestie as you know she would come to your rescue and give unconditional love. Sterling on the other hand is an interesting character but one the has made a few decisions in his life that are unorthodox to say the least. This includes taking advantage of a situation with Weland that leads to a fake marriage for five years. It is four years in and they still have not met in person. You will have to read what happens next......

Never Say Yes To Your Fake Husband is another fantastic romantic comedy by Lindsey Hart which features two charming characters, Weland and Sterling, who agree to be in an arranged marriage on paper. Sterling needs a wife to save his business and meet the terms of his aunt's will and Weland needs money to pay for her brother's multiple surgeries to correct a knee injury. Neither one of them meet until four years into their secret marriage when Weland has a problem with loneliness and Sterling is afraid she may break the contract. This excellent rom com has delightful characters, fun self-talk, witty banter, laugh out loud situations, steamy attraction, strong emotions, and a hilarious dog named Beans. I highly recommend this fun and heartfelt book.

It must have been fate for Sterling, a man with a tons of baggage and walls aroung his heart to find the very sweet, caring Weland on the internet. Four years of fake marriage without having met and her not even knowing his last name and the story begins. I loved these characters and how they interacted. Sterling's emotions had been shut down for so long that it was heartfelt to see him beginning to open up. Beans stole the show and added some comic relief. Weland's familly was protective and also an integral part of the plot. Of course there was some drama and a few heated moments before the final HEA but the journey was worth it.

DNF.

This was just silly. First, Weland makes a living giving guitar lessons at home? Next, she meets a guy at a bar while she is with "friends" having a type of bachelorette party. Friends end up leaving/going to the next bar without her (they don't even check in on her after several days). He insists on riding with her in a cab to make sure she gets home ok. She then invites this stranger up to her place? But she leaves him in her apartment while she goes outside alone to walk the dog? If he cared about her safety, wouldn't he have gone with her? Then she invites strange guy to stay the night, even tho he sleeps on the couch? Why? This was beyond ridiculous & I couldn't take any more.

New take on the ‘fake marriage’ trope. Weland has been married to her ‘husband’ for four years in an arrangement that enables him to keep his company intact and her to finance her brother’s surgeries. I loved their ‘meet-cute’ in a club where Sterling goes to find her after realising she has grown weary of the arrangement. I really enjoyed the gentle development of their romance as they get to know each other and find their affections engaged. I particularly liked the showdown with his greedy cousins who turn up out of the blue. Throw in a cute, but flatulent dog, Weland’s caring family and a lovely HEA and you have yet another great rom-com from the pen of Lindsey Hart.

This story was an enjoyable Rom-Com story to read. The characters (Sterling and Weland) were very likable and engaging and the storyline kept me interested to the end. The root-tooting dog along with Weland's family was an enjoyable second set of characters. Weland into her four years of being married now looks around weary looking how lonely she been into the contract she signed to help pay her brother's surgeries. She goes to Smitty telling him she's had enough. This brings Sterling her fake husband into her life who's trying to keep his family business from his greedy family. I'd enjoyed our couple's rapport in this enjoyable copy I'd volunteer to read and review.

A frolicking, fun and frivolity type romance. This book is a refreshing read and is filled with bits of hilarity, steamy moments, and two folks finding the heart of love with each other, despite a very unorthodox beginning. Sterling and Weland are a joy to read. Both of them, realizing there could be more to their fake marriage as they find themselves unexpectedly in a new situation. Add to the mix a very unique, but stinky dog, a truly insightful friend/lawyer and a trio of troublemakers, and the story becomes even more genuine and authentic. I enjoy this author and her writing style. Lindsay really knows how to draw her readers into the depth of the story as she did in this book.

When one needs money to help family and one needs to be married quickly, no questions asked - meet Sterling and Weland. The end of their five year marriage deal is coming to an end but Weland is itching to get started on her life. She has a stagette for her best friend to attend and because she is secretly married, she has lead a low profile evening. A complicated arrangement becomes more so when these two characters actually meet and find themselves drawn to one another. The original.threat still exists and is closing in. A great story with some laughs and great chemistry to keep things fun. Enjoy!.

Weland gets married to Sterling for money to help her family out and Sterling marries Weland to fulfill the stipulations of a will. These two never meet until she decides to go out to a nightclub but she doesn't know that Sterling is her husband and things take a very steamy turn. I loved Sterling and Weland for each other in this contract marriage turned real love story. The writing is well done and the story flows smoothly with the perfect amount of drama and steam. Never Say Yes to Your Fake Husband is a wonderful addition to the I Said Yes series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is a off the beaten path kind of read. You have too many characters who got married for a specific reasons to meet requirements and or financial difficulty. But years later four years later you still haven't met but you're legally married. So there is an outing that changes the behavior of one or both. How all this stuff happens and evolves is a little office and very backwards. Little funny, steamy, and basically family drama that gets so involved that things start to get a messed. Something to dig into.

Sterling was rich and needed to protect what he built from the ground up which meant finding a bride. Weland’s voice captured his attention on social media and he made her an offer she couldn’t refuse to marry in secret and protect her from his family. One day she threatened to break one of the conditions and he was afraid to lose it all. Meeting her in person was just as he expected and led his family right to her. Without giving anymore details away, all I can say is, take the time to read this good story.

Sterling and Weland have a marriage of convenience. In fact, it is four years into their five year marriage and they are just meeting for the first time. Weland is lonely and says some things she shouldn’t, but end up having an unforeseen result. When Sterling finally meets his wife, he realizes he likes her.

The author did a masterful job of writing these characters. Their chemistry is palpable, they have witty banter and Beans is hilarious. The story has humor, love and some hard moments in it. I really enjoyed this book. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary.

I loved every page of this story , start to finish! The characters were wonderful, great dialogue and perfect chemistry! Having made a financial contract that was mutually beneficial, but never met, they now come face to face some four years later. The spark and attraction was there from the beginning. As their relationship grew so did my love of these characters. Witty moments, tense movements, loving moments, all made for an absolutely delightful read!.

Our main characters didn’t follow the typical meet-and-greet, fall-in-love, and then get married storyline. Instead, they forged their own path, which was quite unconventional. Despite all the chaos, they managed to find their happy ending. Ultimately, they discovered what grounds them and brings them joy.

The dog may seem a bit quirky, but he provided a much-needed break from the seriousness of it all.

You’ve been married to a man for the past 4 years that you’ve never met, much less never laid eyes on. But when you do, fireworks, instant chemistry, and knowing that your life will never be the same.. Weland and Sterling may have started this fake, but very real marriage for agendas that benefit them both. The wonderful characters in this book, including Weland’s dog Beans, brings humor, steamy passion, and everything in between to this book.

This was such a different take on the marriage of convenience trope and I loved it! Weland and Sterling have been married for four years, but have never met. She needed money and he needed a wife so they married without her even knowing his name. Weland is tired of being alone and when Sterling finds out, he makes sure they meet and now he won't let her go. Great chemistry between them and their banter is hilarious. A fun romantic comedy and wonderful addition to the I Said Yes series.

This is Book 4 in the I Said Yes Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is a heartfelt romance between Weland and Sterling. These likeable souls and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. What starts out as a marriage on paper turns into something more. It is a slow burn love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, and engaging secondary characters. A fun read.
