I enjoyed reading the two books in this series. I found this book to be perfect for my level of French (I technically know the grammar, but I don’t have much practical experience). Many of the words and sentence structures are repeated often, which is extremely helpful, and there are lots of everyday phrases and words that are used in speech but don’t tend to be taught in the classroom. I did not use the English translations much, finding the actual structure of the book and the way it was written to be enough scaffolding to keep me from getting lost. All in all, an excellent book (series!). I would love to read a third.
The story was pleasant and engaging, especially since the author limited herself to vocabulary and grammar on an intermediate level. The book was a great way to build on my French comprehension.
