The characters are vivid and lively, each with their own personalities and interests.

The story is captivating and keeps you hooked, even as a book intended for children. It has facts about big cats and a little about geography — a little educational. Pati and Simon’s rescue is a little exaggerated, but children will like that. The ending is a little rushed.

The writing has a vivid style to it with sweet similes and metaphors.
