To Chaiko, living in the prehistoric world, existence is hard enough. Become injured and life becomes nearly impossible. What does he have to do to regain worth and status? Sharpened by misfortune and need, his intelligence is the only tool to help find his way in an often hostile world. Yet the challenges he faces cause him to grow in unexpected and satisfying ways.
Paul Telegdi was born in Hungary, and grew up in Vancouver and Toronto. He met his wife Melanie at the University of Waterloo. They spent eight years in Germany, where two of their three sons were born. They now enjoy rural life with their pets on a farm north of Toronto.
Paul is an office manager who likes kayaking and windsurfing. He has been writing for 15 years with ten books in various stages of disrepair, of which Dreamcast is the first to be published, soon to be followed by Dreamcast II.
This is one of my favorite books by Paul Teledgi. His character development drew me into this story. I was not sure if I would really enjoy it, but I had to keep reading in order to find out where and what this character was going to do next and how he would handle all the things that happened to him. Paul Telegdi has a way with taking average people and showing their courage, ingenuity, and strengths that are developed by the challenges they face.
Clear incite into what author thinks daily life would be in early cave dwelling times. This book is exciting to read as The Standing Rock clan needs to figure out what is causing the changes in the earth, causing game to retreat, climate changes and their need to run for their lives. See how the tribe must overcome; how handicapped Chaiko must fight nature and adapt to try to live though this ordeal. This is the beginning of a multi book tale.
