The Carousel: A Thriller

Rate this book
The carnival closed its gates decades ago. But something inside never stopped turning.

When journalist Harriet Monroe travels to a long-abandoned carnival to chase down a local legend, she expects dust, decay, and another dead-end ghost story.

Instead, she captures footage of the carousel spinning in the dark.

And in the lights, she sees a child.

Drawn into the mystery, Harriet teams up with Charlie Kendall, a local historian haunted by the carnival’s past. What they uncover is worse than missing children, altered records, frightened witnesses, and a final night the town has spent decades trying to forget.

At the center of it all stands the carousel, silent by day, waiting by night.

The deeper Harriet and Charlie dig, the more the town turns against them. Warnings grow sharper. Old survivors refuse to speak. And something in the dark begins to notice them back.

Because some places don’t keep their dead buried.

They keep them.

The Carousel is a haunting supernatural thriller filled with eerie atmosphere, buried secrets, and slow-building dread, perfect for readers who love abandoned places, ghost stories, and suspense that tightens chapter by chapter.

The first half of the book grabbed my attention. But when the action started, the same short paragraph seemed to be repeated multiple times every other page. I get it. I know the plan. Now get to it! I feel like there were edits removed, but, still referenced it the final book. Made for a bit of confusion and smh.
