With his mind agreeably engaged on the pleasures that await him once he and his dearest, loveliest Elizabeth are man and wife, Darcy's patience wanes, and he begins to wonder if he will ever find time alone with his betrothed. Elizabeth is not oblivious of the discomfort Darcy must surely suffer. Not only does she have the key to his heart; she knows how to use it.
P. O. Dixon has authored several Jane Austen "Pride and Prejudice" adaptations, all written with one overriding purpose in mind—falling in love with Darcy and Elizabeth. Sometimes provocative, but always entertaining, her stories have been read, commented on, and thoroughly enjoyed by thousands of readers worldwide.
I received this as a free audible gift and listened to it immediately. I am aware that many thought that the title was misleading or that they paid too much for it. Spoilers to follow:
I believe this short story was more tantalizing for the readers whose minds would fill in the blanks. It portrayed situations where the thoughts of the couple were happily engaged as they could only think about each other even as the conversation about the wealth of the man indicating the size of his ***** was brought to the attention of all by Mrs. Philips. Elizabeth is mortified while Darcy acts bored and aloof. Scenes then ensued which then put the couple in close proximity as privacy is sought but it never played out fully on the page/to the ear. Yes, there are touches of the fingers to the lips during an attempted seclusion in which they each would feed the other. But interruptions by Mrs. Bennet, by servants and by several dogs put a quick end to that. Then they find another parlour in which to be alone but we are only to read/hear about the fact that they have locked the door and slept in each other’s arms through the night. Bingley and Jane choosing not the wake them and just how did Darcy leave the next morning without being discovered?
So we finally get to the wedding…night; Darcy blindfolds her, introduces her to not cocoa and informs her that if she loves that what happens next will be such that she will forget the pleasure of that new drink.
I would imagine most readers would expect more in the area of adult content when the word “sensuality” is included in the title. I will say it was a sweet short story but not much of substance in the love details. I wanted more.
2nd time on Audible. It is "sensual" but not really explicit. Kinda little disappointing. Mostly teasing. But short read/listen. Read Sheila's review for full information.
As Darcy and Elizabeth prepare for their wedding, they find their senses highly awakened, but time alone to be minimal. This causes some frustration and a couple of mishaps. Sweet story.
You know maybe I have to accept part of the blame because judging by the title I expected more. If you read the title it implies that this will be an erotic read well sister it is not. This is a mild attempt to inject passion with our favorite couple. Only that fell short as well. The couple search for a spot to be alone on a rainy day and feed each other. OOOH! And then they lock themselves in the parlor and sleep in the others arms. I wish I could tell you what went on but, oh yea we were left out of that because of vague descriptions. I am not saying that an author has to be graphic and dirty sex scenes but I think by labeling your book as Dixon did is false advertising and undeserving of such a label. I bought because I assumed the book was going to be erotic and tantalizing and that was my mistake!!! READ REVIEWS before you buy! It sucked

A short story covering the couple of weeks before their wedding - Darcy and Elizabeth - with a tale of their pleasurable activities while at Longbourn.
A random find on Audible. I was feeling a short story and I think I needed a little Darcy/Elizabeth in my life.
The story follows Elizabeth and Darcy after Elizabeth said 'yes' to the propose. It is a few days before the wedding and they are in a lot of love and lust.
This was sweet and short and gave me the Elizabeth/Darcy fix I needed. They are adorable and I loved the interactions not only between them but between all the siblings. It was cute.
Now - I was a little thrown off with the title. There really was no smexy time. It was nice to just see them kissing and talking and Darcy introducing Elizabeth to new things like cocoa. There was a lot of lust, but they are creatures of their time so I can see them waiting for their marriage but doing other things instead.
Read one by the author a while back and I remember it being meh, but I like the writing style. Glad I gave this one a try! It made me more curious about the author.
I do wish it was longer. It ended at an awkward moment story-wise.
The narrator was perfect for an Austen-y story. I want to listen more by her.
In the end, I liked this. Short and sweet. I wanted more at the end there. I'll give this 3 stars. For sure worth it if you need some Austen-y type stories in your life.
Darcy and Elizabeth are engaged and embarrassed because Mrs. Phillips makes sexual innuendo. Then they feed each other making sexual innuendo. Animals cause some mayhem and Darcy's clothes get drenched with wine. Longbourn is full of family and servants and everyone knows that they went off to a private room together but nobody cares what they do there. They end up sleeping together (not sure what else they did), and a couple of days later on their wedding night Darcy sets out to prove that sex is better than chocolate.
This was an easy, quick no-angst read, it just seems a bit unlikely that everyone was so extremely nonchalant that D&E locked themselves away in some private corner of the house. Sure, engaged couples do various intimate things all the time but nobody cared enough to even pretend to care.
Anyway, if you bought this book expecting a steamy story based on the title you will probably be disappointed. There's teasing but it's closed door in the crucial moments.
I read this story as part of a box set (Forever, for always, for love), the page count for this story in the box set is 106-144, a lot shorter than the blurb says when this is sold separately (74 pages). Not sure if it's a shorter version here or just a lot of padding in the book.
I loved this look into the love of Elizabeth and Darcy between their engagement and wedding. I love how even in their stolen moments they didn't actually go all the way. They slept in each other's arms still fully clothed. Great way to show even though they wanted each other they knew to keep things from going that far.
I enjoyed reading this sensual story. The author takes you to a point, but let's your imagination full in the rest. I loved how playful Darcy and Elizabeth were.
Another one of P. O. Dixon's wonderfully written and entertaining stories. Dixon's Pride and Prejudice variations have me continuing to fall in love with Elizabeth and Darcy in each story. While I love Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Dixon's variations add so many more details to this most famous LOVE affair. In this story, it is several days before the wedding. More and more family meals and get togethers cause Elizabeth embarrassment and Darcy to simply to tune out. One exceedingly night Lizzy leaves the room, catches Darcy's eye, and he follows her out. In a back parlour, Lizzy has set up a tray of various foods for him to eat after her mother and aunt make a comment about the weight Darcy has lost. Mrs. Bennet comes in and says that this was not enough, Kitty comes in to stare, and Mr. Bennet comes in with looking for his paper which is stuck under his arm. The servants show up with substantial food, according to Mrs. Bennet, but the fiasco that happens is beyond belief. Four dogs enter knocking the servants down spilling and dropping all the food. They both abscond to the music room, and Mary proceeds to enter to practice. Once again they look for another place to hide. Darcy locks the door, and they are very much alone. The rest of the family goes to bed leaving Jane and Bingley in the drawing room, Darcy and Elizabeth in the locker back room. Bingley and Jane go looking for the two. Finding the door locked, Bingley decides to go back to Netherfield, Darcy will follow. Of course, Elizabeth and Darcy fell asleep. Upon waking, Darcy says he'll be back later. The wedding day comes, they are married, and they head out to London to enjoy a week alone, return to Longbourn to pick up Georgiana, and then head to Pemberley. Thank you for another great variation.
"If I could have but one wish, I wish this night never ends"
Same could be same for this short story of the days leading up Darcy and Elizabeth's wedding; I wish it would never end.
Darcy's sensual side comes to light when he and Elizabeth get a few moments of alone time. Their banter is quick and lively; they are indeed perfectly matched. And what happens behind locked closed doors stays behind closed doors!
It's another well written short story by Ms. Dixon best read with a "steaming-hot, rich, luxurious chocolate." A quick read that will most likely leave a decadent smile on your face!!
Received a copy for winning the contest. So I thought I would review it. Omg I didn't expect this to be as funny as it was. Everytime they get a little alone time they get interrupted by some member of Elizabeth's family. I loved the sensual nature that the author portrayed in Darcy and Lizzy's relationship. I wish this novella could have been longer though. All in all it's a good, short read. I recomend picking up a copy. And right now it's only $.99 for the next 12 hours.
PO Dixon is a master at what she does: story-telling, sexual tension, beautifully written story, drawing you the reader in, etc. This story was so well written, that one could not put it down. The only complaint was that it was too short and left us the reader at such a point that she built us up too. That was just cruel!! Keep up the great work.
