Russ attempts to help but Guy’s paranoia makes him think otherwise. With the help of a new, young, sexy friend, Guy runs away and delves into a journey of drugs, alcohol and unprotected sex to find his paradise. But who is Guy really running away from?

Writing erotica is an escape from some of the horrible and sad realities of life. 5amWriterMan hopes that his stories help any of his readers looking for an escape…or a release! ;-)

5amWriterMan was born from the author’s inability to sleep so he creates (stories, poems, paintings, etc.) He began creating through his insomnia, usually around 5 am, hence the genesis of “5amWriterMan.” He is obsessed with shades of grey, darkness, and a touch of red. He bats for #TeamGay and resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He currently has 11 self-published eBooks and welcomes all feedback – good and bad!

There are only two reasons for me not liking it:

1. I should have tried it with a bottle of vodka and pills. I didn't say, you should.

2. My little brain didn't understand THIS kind of creative writing. My fault.

Well, there is one more and maybe the main explanation --> I wasn't the right reader for this book. (As one reader expressed in her review)

Sorry, I didn't get it at all. But I don't give up on the author. I bought two of his books anyway.

This was a gripping read about a man's mind spiralling out of control. The author does a great job at filling the reader with suspense and unease. Who can you really trust? What's real if you can't trust your own thoughts any more? Anyone who's suffered with a mental illness will relate to this one.

Wow, this is really good !

A lot different to the usual m/m books I normally read but it made a refreshing change

It's not a 'romance ', felt more like a psychological thriller to me. I had no idea how it was going to turn out but it definitely had me gripped, couldn't put it down

Sex scenes are hot and oh my, I really felt for Guy and that ending !!!

5amWriterMan has written an intriguing gay erotica story involving mental illness, drugs, sex – and the reader follows along as Guy seemingly weaves in and out of reality in this imaginative, wild and unpredictable tale. It's full of suspense, and the author does an exceptional job of pulling the reader in and keeping them spellbound throughout. Infected Thoughts is an exciting read for adults that enjoy a well-written, fast-paced, entertaining story with unexpected twists. I enjoyed it and would be interested in reading more from this author.

This was such a mindfuck! Yet I enjoyed it so much though. I just wish it hadn't ended so abruptly. And I still have so many unanswered questions about what exactly happened to Guy in the end.


Poor guy is pretty crazy. He's mental. And this whole story I didn't know whether he was coming or going. Or how much of what he thinks & see is reality and what is just made up thoughts in his head.


I'd like to know what was the exact name of his condition. And what really happened vs what he thought happened.


In any case I enjoyed this story very much. It's such a strange journey but certainly never boring.

This was an amazing short story of a man who suffered from mental illness, drugs, sex, and the inability to discern what was reality and what was not. Guy was a gay man who grew unhappy with his life, feeling that maybe death was the right thing. The story has such dramatic twists and turns as he maneuvers through these seemingly alternate dimensions, not knowing who was after him or if he was just running from someone or something including his partner, Russ...Feeling like a rollercoaster ride, you find yourself following him at every turn, not knowing what was going to happen next. In his mind during his journey he meets Justin who he feels he is falling in love with. Very gripping, very emotional story, which left me sad and crying. The author did an amazing job with the story line and characters. Look forward to reading more from this author. Infected Thoughts is so appropriately titled. Must Read
