Orleans University #3

Walkoff Wedding: Orleans University, Book 3

Rate this book
I fell for my secret pen pal, believing we would never meet, but now... he's my husband.

Grant Bergeron is Orleans University's playboy first baseman. He's charming, kind… and a tad arrogant. But underneath his party-guy demeanor, he's more than anyone sees.

I needed a husband, and he strode in like prince charming, taking me up on the marriage pact from our past. One that I never imagined actually happening.

Our I-dos were meant to be temporary, a walk-off wedding that benefited us both. But when he takes our vows more seriously than I expect, old feelings begin to resurface.

Now we're sharing a too-small apartment, and he's everywhere. In my room, in my bed, and… in my heart.

Our marriage is supposed to be fake, but I think I'm falling for my husband.

Walkoff Wedding is book three in the Orleans University series and can be enjoyed as a standalone. It's a marriage of convenience, college baseball, secret identities romance with only one bed and "teach me" tropes.

This was too sweet! Definitely gave me alllll the Cinderella Story vibes and was just so nostalgic. I really loved how they met and chatted online for months until she cuts it off and they don't interact for 9 months. She's in a horrible situation where her stepfather wants her to marry someone horrible just to keep her late mother's bakery. It just so happens she leaves her sketchbook at the party and the guy she had talked to finds it and recognizes it as hers. But he has no idea who she really is, so he sets out to find her.

This is marriage of convenience, which was so fun. He's a boy obsessed and she's definitely more of a wallflower, virgin character, so they just had a really adorable romance for the second half of the book. I would have loved just a bit more angst and some more baseball since this is a series revolving around baseball players, but this was just an adorable marriage of convenience and I had a fun time reading it!

A spicy modern day fairytale brimming with banter, wit, and heat! Walkoff Wedding is an absolute stunner. The writing is clever and fresh, the storyline feels familiar and yet surprises you each step of the way, and the characters are impossible not to fall head over heels for. I can't recommend this enough. Five stars!

Walkoff Wedding by Maren Moore

4/5 stars

My heart, Walkoff Wedding is such a sweet, kind and charming book. It's kindness personified. And that sweetness started immediately at the start and it ended just as delightful as the beginning.

The books starts with Art Girl and OrleansU11 chatting in a school group chat about fundraisers and other school related activities. They instantly banter and he sends her a private message. And that's where they start to flirt and enjoy each other's company. Very quickly they chat multiple times a day and they share everything with the other one. Everything apart from their identity. OrleansU11 aka Jockboy wants to meet her in real life but Art Girl prefers the anonymity of their conversations. She is convinced things will change if they meet up.
When she confides that her stepfather wants to marry her off in order to safe her late mother's bakery, Jockboy instantly offers to marry her instead. And then one day she is suddenly gone. And doesn't respond to his messages anymore.

9 months have passed and Art Girl is Addie. She lives above the garage and has a great passion for painting. She also helps in the bakery in the early morning hours. Amos and Earl who work there, are her true family, and the ones who always have her back. They encourage her to go out. And she reluctantly agrees.

That same night she goes to the party, but she didn't promise Amos to join the people. She spends time on the porch drawing until a handsome young man bursts through the door and tries to pee over the banister. She calls him out and they instantly have a connection friendship wise. When it's midnight she hastily leaves. Leaving her portofolio behind.

Her stepfather forces her to marry in two weeks time. And she is willing to do it, to save her mother's bakery, the only thing she has left from her.

Meanwhile that boy on the porch is called Grant and his friend encourages him to find that girl on the porch. And when he does they are both flabbergasted... They are Art Girl and Jockboy.
And when she confesses her fears and why she must marry Dixon he again offers to marry her instead.

And that is what kickstarts this story. Amos and Earl overhear a conversation of her stepfather that changes everything. And even though they just met in real life. Grant isn't going anywhere and he will support her through thick and thin.

I just adore their relationship so much. It's super respectful, kind, sweet and fluffy. Not one line is overstepped and he respects all the common boundaries that are in place anno 2024.
I loved to see their friendship form and how their love grew within each chapter and with every step they took.

I also adored the side characters. Especially Amos and Earl. But sweet little Auggie was a joy to read on page as well.

So if you love a sweet contemporary romance then definitely pick this book up. It's a slow burn but definitely worth it.

4 big stars from me for this sweet and beautiful book.

I was so excited to read this book, I’ve really enjoyed the series and this was an anticipated read for me. It started off so good, the text messages, remaining anonymous, and with the banter between them it was good and I was like ok 👀👌🏼

BUT, unfortunately this book fell so flat for me and it makes me sad it say that 🙈 I wanted to be honest with my review. There was just something missing for me and it was almost too sweet and insta lovey. My favourite parts are where Reese pops up (with the cat 😂) and the guys group chats.

Definitely gives off “Cinderella story” vibes.

Unfortunately not my favourite of the series, that remains to be Catching Feelings. Overall still a good read, just wasn’t for me 🩵

Be prepared to be SWOONED so hard by Grant Bergeron. This man was seriously the sweetest fucking thing to grace the pages of a book.

I love all of the boys of Orleans U. They are so vastly different. But Grant Bergeron? He hits different. This man is the sweetest golden retriever. And just when you think he can't make you swoon harder, he comes at you with the sweetest sentiment or dialogue towards Addie. I honestly can not imagine a better pairing. Addie is so shy and quiet. And Grant is the perfect compliment to her. I loved how Addie made Grant feel comfortable with being his most authentic self that he felt like he couldn't show because of his baseball image. And then how Grant created a safe environment for Addie to explore herself and becoming the woman she was destined to be.

I also want to touch base on the plot. This book was sooooo good! The plot was pure perfection! I am a sucker for text bubbles and if you are too then be warned the first 10% of the book is ALL text bubbles. Yes you heard me right! The FIRST 10%!!!! I was in complete heaven. This book starts off with Grant and Addie getting to know each other through the OU forum. And the started off as pen pals, became friends and then lovers. The progression of their relationship was so sweet.

Now for all of my millennials, this book will bring you back to your teenage years. If you loved The Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray then buckle up buttercups because this that in a book form! Essentially Addie finds herself in a cinderella situation where she needs to marry to save her late mother's bakery and Grant is her Prince Charming. Like I mentioned above, this plot was so amazing!

At the end of the day, I absolutely adored Grant. I loved Addie. Little Augustus was the perfect four legged companion. Yet again, Maren Moore hit it out of the park with this one. So if you couldn’t tell, I just loved this book with ever fiber of my being 💕 So please do yourself a favor and add this one to your TBR! Ok that is all!

You should most definitely read this book if you like:
- Marriage of Convenience
- College Baseball Romance
- Close Proximity
- Friends to Lovers
- He Falls First and HARD
- Virgin FMC/Good Girl
- Pen Pals
- Secret Identity

* I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Maren Moore and Valentine PR for allowing me to read Walkoff Wedding as and ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review.

2.5⭐️ | ARC review

I was on the struggle bus for this one. It sadly didn't work for me at all.

I was looking forward to this book, as I enjoyed the previous one a lot, but sadly this was not for me. I think it comes down to the tropes not working in this particular universe with college sports. Marriage of convenience for college kids? Sports romance where no actual sports are played? Surprise Cinderella retelling? Loving a "my wife" moment but getting it thrown into your face 52 times?

It had a strong start with fun banter over text messages - something I tend to love. Strong start with the looming forced marriage and the sudden plan to get out of it. But, and this is a big one. Grant felt like a walking talking Book Boyfriend™️ and not in a good way. There was no dimension to him, and him and Addie had no chemistry. It was fluffy, too much so, and the plot felt boring and fell flat for me. I wanted to DNF by 70% and I do kind of wish I had.

The spice hits late, this is a virgin fmc story. The spice we got was fine, nothing too special, BUT, when they do the deed for the first time, the fmc says "I feel when he breaks through the barrier inside of me" and I wanted to roll my eyes so much. This is not a universal experience and also perpetuates a harmful myth. The author might benefit from looking up modern books on medicine and female anatomy.

I tend to end my reviews on a positive note, so I'll go with: loved seeing the previous couples and also Amos and Earl were wonderful.

Thanks to VPR and the author for the ARC.

grant + addie
🌶️/5

the gist: New Orleans • college • baseball • marriage of convenience • pen pals / secret identity • virgin / good girl • one bed • "teach me" • friends to lovers • he falls first / boy obsessed • Cinderella story X She's All That vibes • bakery • "my wife" • HEA

>>After obsessing over Lane & Hallie (book 1) and Reese and Viv (book 2) they became instant favorites between the push/pull, spice, and world building at Orleans U. I had high hopes for Grant and his story, but it fell short for me. It felt too fluffy and didn't have enough in the plot to evoke those big feelings like books 1 and 2 did. And I love a good "baby" nickname, but it was too repetitive for my tastes.

I don’t know how she does it but Maren never disappoints me. This book might be my favorite Maren to date. This is the last in her Orleans U series and I am sad it is over.

This story follows Grant and Addie. They start out as online penpals and grow close until they lose touch. Fate has them crossing paths about a year later when Addie needs a prince charming, Grant is there to swoop in. They make a marriage pact to help them both out but the longer they are married the more they realize that maybe what they have isn’t fake.

Maren did not come to play with this last book you guys. I literally could not put this book down. Maren has such a way with words that just hook me from the beginning and I literally cannot stop reading until I am done.
Grant might be my favorite Maren book boyfriend ever written. He is the literal definition of a golden retriever. He had me swooning with that first message and you all better have a fan handy bc that man has mouth on him that will make you sweat.
Addie is one my favorite FMC. I relate to her so much. She is such an introvert and quirky but she was so vulnerable with Grant.
I absolutely loved their chemistry together, you could feel it immediately. Their relationship progression was slow but it felt so natural.

Thank you to Maren and team for an eARC. I cannot wait to see what is next but really I am hoping for a Davis book.

I can't believe this series is over; I am in denial. 3/3 🩵, I loved every single one! I have been waiting for Grant's book because, for me, he is the ultimate golden retriever MMC who will do anything for his girl, and BOY WAS I RIGHT 💞

They met in chat rooms, and with the "I'll marry you if I see you again" vibe, everything unfolded. This book has the whole ✨Cinderella story vibe✨, and I was eating it up because, let's be honest, we all want that fairytale feel 🥺. Add a wedding and 🔥, and it's the perfect combo.

Allie is the shy girl who likes her art more than people and never knew what love was until Grant entered the picture. Grant didn't want just any girl; he wanted ✨HER✨. I recommend this book to anyone head over heels for a good Cinderella retelling and wants that "shy in the bedroom" element.

5 freaking stars

I already knew I was going to love this book because I LOVED the first two in the series…… but oh my GOSH this is one of my new faves ever!!!!

Each and every story in the Orleans U world has been absolute perfection but this one was just absolutely giving for me!!! Grant was SO swoony and Addie was so loveable!!! I loved seeing their relationship grow and develop and watching them become each others safe space, where they could really be themselves 💌 I’m already an absolute sucker for marriage of convenience, but add that to a sports romance and I am SAT!!!

Grant is also the literal definition of a cinnamon roll, but could kill you. Because the “my wife” scenes??? I am on the FLOOR are you kidding me!!!!

Addie was such a sweet and kindhearted character and I really just wanted to hug her 😭 I loved watching her learn how to stand up for herself <3

This is one of the cutest and swoonworthy rom-coms I have ever read!!! Maren Moore wrote another favorite of mine and I’m really not surprised 🤭

Thank you Maren Moore for the ARC of this book, I’m so so in love 💌

I love a good nod to a fairytale who doesn't? But here it felt like you were being clonked over the head with all the Cinderella references that felt so forced. This was quite painful to sit through. The urge to DNF was very strong. This book felt like a bunch of tropes in a trenchcoat. The tropes listed were barely even used with a plot that didn't make much sense. Why a 20-something year old college student would be threatened with an arranged marriage in a CR book made no sense. She supposedly is broke has no money or sources to fight back but can suddenly hire a lawyer for legal advice when she finds out about her mother's will? And this is supposedly a sports romance with a baseball player hero but it takes place during his off season. 😐 What's the point then? I don't even know what position he plays. But hey, we don't need to know that detail in a sports romance do we? 🤷🏻‍♀️ The hero and heroine get married to help the heroine get out of the arranged marriage by faking a relationship but there's literally no "faking" anything. I keep running into this problem in CRs when it comes to fake relationship tropes but here was probably the weakest attempt at it. They are supposed to make their marriage look real in public to help his reputation (which isn't even all that bad) to land a sponsorship deal and to get her evil stepfather and the gross fiance to back off but besides one outing to a bar with friends that's pretty much it, they are making out at home and he lands the sponsorship deal with zero work or effort to play it up. Again I ask, what's the point? And the "teach me" trope? Puh-huh. The hero is supposed to teach the virgin shy heroine how to kiss and do PDA and sexy times but is there any actual teaching here? Nope. (ETA: If you are gonna write a blow job scene where the heroine goes down on the hero right after he comes home from grueling training session? At least mention he took a shower first. Please. 😷) The one bed trope? Yes they share a bed...to sleep in. No sexual tension of any kind there. The insta-love is way too instant but the authors tries to play it off like a slow burn by having the characters repeat themselves ad nauseam when literally nothing is being held back or even fought for. Does Maren Moore even realize how tropes work? You have to actually let it play out on the page to help develop and deepen the connection between the MCs, not just plop a mention of it in your book and move on. It's not a literal checklist. Nothing is earned or worked for here.

Grant and Addie (I literally had to look up the heroine's name cause I already forgot) first meet through their school's online message board(?) where they end up messaging each other under screen names. What starts off as bantering turns into supposed deep connection where the hero is already in love and even mentions wanting to marry her sight unseen. Uh....sure ok. And a jock baseball player who loves poetry? POETRY? Please be serious. Grant wants to meet her in person but Addie ghosts him. Six months later they meet by chance at a frat party and when she leaves her sketchbook behind he figures out she's his dream girl from online and his friend puts out flyers all over campus looking for her. The idea was cute but delivery was so awkward. Also, your heroine is an artist but the best screen name-turned-nickname you could come up with for her is ArtGirl? Really???? 🙄 And guess what the hero's screen name is? Jockboy. 😐

All the characters in this book are flat caricatures with zero depth or range. I normally love shy wallflower heroines but good lord. The heroine Addie is a complete Mary Sue who giggles, hides behind her hair, stammers when she's nervous or embarrassed, can't even say the word SEX, whose reaction to everything is Oh. My. God. and gasping in shock clutching her pearls like a scandalized grandma. It was literally this every time.......

Gasping! in shock to stuff that's not that shocking. She's even slapping her hand over the hero's mouth whenever he talks dirty to her cause omg! it's so mortifying. 🙄 Addie just came off so juvenile and oddly dated. The chemistry was nonexistent. The constant pauses and talking like.....this and italicizing stuff for dramatic effect did my head in. The rambling writing reads like bad fanfiction. It's too sugary sweet that it's nauseating. The mundane to obvious things need to be explained and broken down like readers are stupid. The hero Grant is too perfect he's a Perfect Boyfriend™ template, he's a walking Hallmark card and it just fell flat and so boring.

Who the hell talks this way?
“You asked me how it was possible to fall for a girl I’ve never met, and I told you I’d let you know when I figured it out. Because I never realized what my life was missing until you walked in, and now… the stars shine a little brighter.”

“We’re created with hearts that beat in different rhythms and souls that are tethered to fate,” I whisper quietly, turning my head to look over at Grant.

“I’m glad that as endless as the universe is… I exist in the same time and place that you do, Addie.”

Gently, I tug her closer until we’re only centimeters apart, both of us breathing heavily until my lips finally touch hers… a crescendo of longing that finally peaks.

“It’s never easy when you’ve been betrayed by someone, and you have every right to feel it all. Give yourself time to feel. To purge them. Healing is not linear. Remember that, okay?”

“I want you to remember that no matter how dark it gets, that sun is gonna shine again. And when you feel those warm rays on your face, all of the darkness that you suffered through will be a thing of yesterday.”

“I do miss him, and I have no problem talking about my feelings. And even if I was crying, it’s fine. Men have emotions and can express them too,” Reese mutters matter-of-factly.

Crescendo of longing??

Nobody talks this way, least of all college baseball players or a 50 year old Hispanic man who works at a bakery. So unrealistic. This really felt like the author's personal fantasy and feelings of how men should talk and act and it fell so flat. Nothing about saying "my wife" and "baby" 100 times just to get a point across is romantic. Saying words without depth means nothing.

4.5 STARS

This one had me giggling and kicking my feet. It is just a feel good romance. Maren writes some of the best cinnamon roll heroes with the dirtiest mouths, and every time Grant said “my wife”…SWOON!

I would have liked the step-dad and ex to have a bit more of a part of the storyline since they are the impetus of it all. It would have given Grant and Addie a but more of a challenge, too.

So sad to say goodbye to this world!

As someone who grew up on reading & watching fairytles, and who had an unhealthy obsession with all things Cinderella (best believe I ate up every single crappy remake I could get my hands on), this book was EVERYTHING to me.

That mixed in with the fact that there was just constant communication from the MCs and no third-act breakup? This was literally my dream book.

If anyone's watched 'A Cinderella Story', the beginning and concept reminded me a lot of it 🤧🤧 It brought me backkkkk.

I definitely wish that this was longer, I really couldn't get enough of this story, but it was just so fluffy and everything I needed rn.

“You’re the love of my life. In any universe, it will always be you. In any lifetime, you will always be the marrow of my bones. A love that transcends time—that’s the way I was made to love you, Addie Bergeron. Will you stay my wife? Until the stars call us home?”

I want to start off this review by saying that I did have an ARC of Walkoff Wedding through VPR, and I waited the required time to post a -3⭐️ review, before anyone comes at me 😂

If you know me, you will know that I LOVED, ABSOLUTELY LOVED AND DEVOURED Catching Feelings! And although I’m not a huge lover of the Marriage of Convenience trope, I was excited to hear all about Grants story.

What I wasn’t expecting, was a Cinderella retelling?? None of the other books were retellings and so that part threw me off.. maybe she had advertised that it was a retelling somewhere and i missed that before signing up? Because it just seemed really out of place for me in a “baseball” romance.

Also, this man didn’t play a lick of baseball the entire book. He was in off season, which is great, but maybe don’t put him in baseball clothes on the cover if he’s not playing any baseball? That bothers me for some reason. False advertising? lol

I don’t think the marriage of convenience trope in a college setting is for me. They felt very young (they are) and immature (they are) and although there was probably a million other ways to come up with a solution to their problems, they chose marriage.. to someone they don’t even know. I don’t know. Make it make sense.

I hate to continue to compare this book to the previous one, but the spice was… good, once it hit at 81%!!!?? Catching Feelings spice hit at 5%.. FIVE. Also Grant is more.. experienced in the bedroom.. and the WORDS that come out of his mouth would make an immature, shy, nerdy, virgin CRINGEEE. I’m sorry, I cringed. I’m just picturing him lightly degrading her and thinking.. my god. Shes a VIRGIN. YOU CANT SAY C*NT A TO A VIRGIN 😂

All in all, didn’t connect to the characters, the story was fine. Just fine. And the spice was meh. I did enjoy seeing Reese of course, and the previous characters.. even though it was short lived.

I did want to DNF at 14% and I struggled straight through to the end to be able to write an honest review.

This book wasn’t awful, it just wasn’t for me. I loved Marens other books in this series, and I am sad it didn’t end on a higher note for me. Grant really is a sweetheart, but he needed a better FMC in my opinion, or maybe a story where he isn’t meant to stand in Chad Michael Murray’s shoes? 😂

♾️🌟This was one of the sweetest marriage of convenience stories I’ve ever read! I was giddy the whole damn time I read it. 🥹

📖 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐞

“𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘧𝘦? 𝘌𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘧****** 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦.“

Words can’t even begin to describe how much I have enjoyed the Orleans University series by the wonderful 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐞. Each book has been unique and touched my heart in different ways.

This story is about two people that met online, shared their stories and their secrets, but never met in person.

Now it has been months since Grant Bergeron met his ArtGirl online. He tried to meet her but she never showed. Now he has a sketch book that has “ArtGirl” inside and he renews his efforts to find her.

I loved this twist on A Cinderella Story!

'𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭'

Addie has been pressured into an arranged marriage to a horrible person just to get the money she needs to save her mother’s bakery. When her penpal offers her another solution she jumps to accept.

This book was filled with all kinds of delicious sweetness! Grant wasted absolutely zero time before calling Addie his “wife” every chance he could. Grant and Addie were just the sweetest humans ever written. I loved how Grant was able to be there for Addie with whatever she needed, outside and inside the bedroom. 😉

"𝘈𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘴 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘧****** 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘜𝘯𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴... 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳?"

The wonderful found family trope continued into this third book and I loved getting to see all of our favorite couples from previous books. Addie has always been shy so she doesn’t have a lot of friends. When she married Grant she had idea the support system she was gaining.

"𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦. 𝘐𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘣𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴.“

If you love marriage of convenience stories where the guy is DOWN BAD for his “little wifey”, add 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐞 to your TBR today!

DNF @ 33%

I felt like there was no build up to the story. It was very fast paced, insta-love, and kinda boring to be honest. I already predicted what was going to happen before it happened - which my bestie confirmed with me lol! I feel like if I would've read the entire book, I would've been highly disappointed.

MAREN MOORE!!! YOU DESERVE ALL THE STARS FOR THIS BOOK!!!

this was the most beautiful and wholesome book ever. i fell head over heels for grant bergeron, and i cannot express how much i enjoyed reading his and addie’s story.

walkoff wedding is sweet, fun, hilarious, heartwarming, and sexy. i loved how obsessed grant was with addie. seeing him pine over her was one of my favorite things. i also loved how sweet and considerate grant and addie were to each other.

also!!! i loved seeing reese and lane in this book. their cameos were everything!!!

maren absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one, and i could not put this book down. don’t walk, but run, to read this book on july 19th!!! and if you haven’t read homerun proposal or catching feelings - what are you waiting for!?!?!

thank you so much to maren and her team for the arc. i loved this one so much <3

I felt like a teenager reading this with its nostalgia from A Cinderella Story. My heart was so giddy and the swooning was nonstop. I love their meet cute and their chemistry right off the bat. “I knew her heart before I knew her face.” Omg SWOON. Just the perfect new love, butterflies, HEA romance.

☆4 “I knew her heart before I knew her face.” 🥰

Swoon. I enjoyed this NA college romance twist on the Cinderella trope a lot. Super cozy, sugary sweet, and sexy as you please. I loved the found family aspects, especially her wonderful surrogate dads. The bromance text chains cracked me up—omg Reese 🤣—and it can easily be read as a standalone. I loved the way the MCs first ‘meet’ online. Sure, it seemed to me that they should have immediately guessed each other’s identity once the sketchbook was in play, but it’s ok. And yeah ok, it went a little overboard with the boy’s perfect swoony speeches toward the end. But these kids sure seemed happy, and after reading this book, so was I. 💘

Addie “artgirl” is the wallflower of Orleans University, while living in her own bubble her life is anything but easy. Having lost her mother at a young age, she grew up under supervision of her stepfather…who is now forcing her into an arranged marriage to save her mothers bakery.

Grant “jockboy” finds himself on the OU forum arguing with “artgirl”, which turns into months of messages with no real identity. Until he asks to meet... time goes by with no contact…until one night, just before midnight he meets the most beautiful girl who leaves behind an item…his “artgirl”

When he finds out she’s in a predicament, he offers her a fake marriage. Her true prince charming.

A Walkoff Wedding may not be the only secret in this book…
Maren has done it again! What an instalment to the Orleans University series!

A modern day, Cinderella retelling! While it vaguely follows that plot, its still quite different. I, however, am a huge fan of how Maren executed it. The story flowed well and as the tension built on page, you were able to feel it. Maren has a way to make you fall in love with both FMC/MMC characters in her books, and I easily loved both Addie and Grant by a couple pages in!

I sat down to read this in the evening and didn’t move until I had finished; I was engrossed with the story, the plot, the characters…everything! Like I said, the tension built on the page, and I just kept going waiting for it to burst!
If you look up obsessed in the dictionary, it’s just a picture of Grant. When I say this man was OBSESSED with Addie – swoon! And how caring and protective he was of Addie? MY ENTIRE HEART. Grant was everything and more. I absolutely loved Addie too, my sweet, shy, strawberry girl! Her strength to keep going is admirable and she deserves the absolute world, which I know Grant will give her.

The spice was SPICY. Strawberry icing…say no more.

If you’ve read Homerun Proposal & Catching Feelings then we do get a little visit from our previous couples!

This book was easily 5 amazing stars for me, and I would recommend this to friends.

I easily could go on but won’t…just read this!! You won’t regret it

Walkoff Wedding 💙💍⚾️

Maren is back at New Orleans U, and this time around, for Grant and Addie's story. Maren wrote such a fun, touching story with so much heart, hope, and soul. This one is dedicated to all the girls who grew up watching a Cinderella story and believed they would find their own happily ever afters.

For Grant & Addie, these two characters are, sticky, sweet sunshine goodness. They meet on a school forum. They spend months chatting, never exchange their identities, but they start to develop feelings for each other. One night they meet, not knowing who each other is. When Addie leaves behind her sketchbook, Grant, friend rallies to help find her. Pieces of her heart belong to this sketchbook. As these two figure out who each is, it’s clouded as Addie has bigger issues. The future of her mom's bakery is in shambles-this place holds memories and legacy of her mom, who passed away. Her POS stepdad dangles it over her head, saying that Addie must marry another in order to keep the bakery. Grant won't have it and steps up to marry Addie; as he also needs help with his future in baseball. These two agree to a fake marriage, exchange vows, and move in together. Yet, as those feelings and desires become more, they find themselves behaving like husband and wife. As Addie finds in Grant a home, family, and unending love and support.

Grant is a man who was written by a woman; He's a wonderful MMC; he's so smoldering that he will win your heart. The way he loved Addie, he would get down on his KNEES for her; he would stop at nothing to make her happy. Addie is a girly girl who believes in soulmates and the stars. Addie is painfully shy; she genuinely misses her mom and grew up pretty much alone. She just wants to be someone's first choice. I adored Addie's creativity, from art to baking; she was very whimsical in a way to me.

As Maren transported me off to New Orleans, she had me walking through the vibrancy of the French Quarter off to get some fresh beignets and a chicory coffee. I loved catching up with my babies, Reese and Vivi. As we say goodbye to the New Orleans U crew, I can't wait to see what Maren does next…maybe rugby.

Thank you to Maren and Valentine PR for the ARC 💙

Omg, Maren Moore REALLY did it with this one, I’m OBSESSED with Walkoff Wedding. Not only does it has the fun 90s teen movie vibes of the previous books in the series, but it’s a freaking adorable Cinderella retelling. SO we’ll done, everything about it made me giddy. The romance between Addie and Grant is SO sweet and SO pure, I cannot even. Put this one down as my favorite Maren book and possibly my favorite MF romance I’ve read this year!

Y’all, both of the MCs in this one just have freaking hearts of gold. Addie and Grant fall in love online without knowing each other’s names, and after Addie ghosts him, Grant can’t stop thinking about his “Art Girl.” When he comes across her lost sketchbook, he and his baseball teammates put up flyers to try to return it and find her - it’s so adorable. Once he does, there are definite nerd v jock vibes, but in such a sweet way. Grant is already smitten and wants ANYTHING Addie will give him.

Walkoff Wedding also has a very well done marriage of convenience, and whew, Grant takes it seriously from the moment he says “I do.” LOTS of “my wife,” tons of possessiveness, and some easily justified reasons for deflowering a virgin FMC. Despite some pretty spice, these two still just seem so innocent and sweet, their romance is giving soulmates vibes all over the place, and I just wanted MORE. So grateful for the chance to read this one, and I highly recommend you give it a shot too!

Literally finished this book IN A SITTING. Thank you Maren for having me on your ARC team and sending me this masterpiece! Obsessed is an understatement- I always knew Grant was a lover at heart, and his relationship with Addie transcended my expectations! LOVED the following of the Cinderella Story storyline. Also, I thought Reese Landry had a dirty mouth but CHILDDDD Grant Bergeron is on another planet with those “my wife” lines🙌🏼🩵 Cannot wait to have my paperback copy when it releases on 7/19 to complete my set!

Review: This is the third and final book in the Orleans University series, but can be read as a standalone. I have loved being in my Maren Moore Baseball Era!😍 I was so excited for Grants book and oh my gosh it was so worth the wait! This was such a perfect wrap up to this series!

Addie aka ArtGirl is an aspiring artist and baker hoping to one day run her late mothers bakery. Grant aka OrleansU11 aka Jockboy, is a baseball player for Orleans University. ArtGirl and Jockboy "meet" in an online form and instantly hit it off. I was kicking my feet as I ate up the DM messages between them. I just love the fun and flirty banter between these two. But I wasn't the only one who fell for them. They also fell for each other sight unseen. This man was pure swoon and perfection! I absolutely ate up this book like the delicious beignets Addie makes!🤤

Their meet cute put the biggest smile on my face!🥰 I couldn't put it down cause I was so in love with these two! And let me tell you, Grant is the sweetest, most caring, protective, possessive and loving man!😏 I couldn't get enough of Prince Charming! And the mouth on him!!!🥵 He may have moved to the top of my favorites list! The character growth that Addie was able to go through because of Grants patience, support and gentleness truly made my heart soar. He is literal perfection! This was such a fun Cinderella story retelling! Don't miss this one!!!!🥰🩵⚾️💍🍓

And this book was everything I didn’t know I needed right now! Absolutely obsessed. So much so I stayed up way too late because I just couldn’t put it down. Grant and Addie were everything! Maren’s characters are just so wonderful and I loved every moment of this book!

Grant and Addie “meet” on an online forum and the first part of this book is just MESSAGES which are the best way to start a book! They talk for over a year, never exchanging names but slowly and genuinely falling for each other before “ArtGirl” ghosts “JockBoy”. They reunite in the best meet cute I’ve read in a hot minute! It was the absolute sweetest! This book is giving 90s nostalgia in the best way. I can just see this playing out on a screen, the best rom-com!

Addie and Grant are both SO sweet. Addie is giving the best vibes; her style (give me some loafers), her hobbies, her aura. I love her. Grant is a walking green flag, the absolute sweetheart of a friend AND husband. Don’t get me started on the “my wife” moments! I loved the chemistry between them, how their marriage progressed so naturally, the trust building first before anything else. This book is a slow burn, but I really think it fitted in well with the character development, trust building and Addie’s vulnerability.

I loved the side characters in this book; Addie’s relationship with Amos especially was so special. I’m so glad she had that person there for her before Grant came into her life!

I really enjoyed this book; such a feel good, heartwarming romance from our bestie Maren!

It’s a joy to be on your team; thank you for the arc!

I have been HANGING OUT for this book and cannot praise Maren enough for bringing this gem into my life.

I haven’t had a book make me genuinely happy like this one did in such a long time. Addie and Grant are the cutest babies out, I absolutely adore them.
The Cinderella story vibes had me eating this up. Addie is an Angel and a 2000s romance personified and Grant is the golden retriever boyfriend no.. HUSBAND of your dreams!
I’m always weak for a my wife moment and it was delivered and I was weak in the knees.
Loved the other couples making an appearance and the cutest brotherhood between Grant, Lane and Reese. Grants friendship with Davis was also really sweet, I hope there’s more of him!
Addies interactions with Amos made me want to cry, it was so lovely and some really touching moments between Addie and the one of the only people to truly be there for her before grant.

Cute, heartwarming and such a feel good book. Love love love. You’ll want to add this to your tbr!

Thank you for this ARC Maren! Being on your team brings me so much joy

This was one of the cutest books I’ve read in a while, and I adored it! 💙

‘A Cinderella Story’ is one of my absolute favorite comfort movies, and this book nods to it in such a fun way! The vibes were just great, and I missed reading about the pen pal trope in books, so I loved how our MCs met online and had a texting pen pal type relationship before meeting in real life.

I really adored my wallflower girl Addie — she has the kindest heart, and I wanted to hug her for all that she’s gone through. And I loved Grant for her because of how seamlessly he fit into her life, being in her corner without question, and was just so patient and sweet with her 😭 You can tell that there’s so much love and care between Grant & Addie, and I loved that this book focused on their initial connection as pen pal friends before slowly falling for one another even more as they get to know each other better in person.

Once again, Maren absolutely delivered on her classic sweet and spicy fun times with this book! Grant & Addie’s story gave me all the butterflies and had me smiling to myself so many times. It was everything I could’ve wanted 🫶

Thank you so much to Maren Moore & her team for an ARC of this book! 💌

first I would like to thank Valentine PR and Maren Moore for choosing me as one of the lucky ones to read and review this ARC!

the story between Grant and Addie was so freaking cute. aside from this being an arranged marriage situation, the chemistry between these two was absolutely unmatched. from the glances, nicknames, and sweet gestures they would do for each other… I was obsessed.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good sports romance. also if you love the whole innocent girl learns a thing or two from the hottest, most popular guy around, you would love this!!!

ArtGirl and Jockboy have a special place in my heart🩵🥹

Grant Bergeron the man that you are <3

If you're a fan of fluffy romcoms, especially Hilary Duff's A Cinderella Story, this is definitely going to be the book for you. It was such a comfy, easy book to read, with a steady pace, lovable characters, and the perfect amount of spice for the characters! Marriage of convenience is one of my favorites, and this one was no different—and the added pre-relationship secret identity added such a fun spin on it!

Maren Moore's books are always a warm hug. They're guaranteed to make you giggle and kick your feet, smile every chapter, and fan yourself at the spicy parts! Her MMCs are always so lovable, and Grant is my favorite of this series I think!

Thank you to Valentine PR for the e-ARC, and Maren.& her team for the PR box!
