To Averianna Brooks true love is like a mythical creature, it just doesn't exist. Needing an escape from what most would consider a living hell, she leaves the place she has always called home to move to Atlanta where she is determined to rebuild her self-worth with her long time best friend. Home holds too many bad memories along with a certain person she wishes to never see again. All she wants is a fresh start, a new atmosphere, and a new city away from the horribletimes her life once held. In an effort to save herself from any unforeseen pain that she desperately wants to steer clear of, Averi vows against anymore relationships. But will all that change after a chance meeting with Damian Cole, a well known business mogul to a chain of hotels and resorts with a deviant and damaged past of his own? Unable to stop thinking about his wickedly good looks and his crystal blue eyes, she wonders if she will ever meet him again. When fate brings her slamming into a familiar pair of sapphire eyes, things seems to take a turn, developing into a deep desire that neither one of them saw coming. Can Averi and Damian overcome their hurdles together and repair their damaged pasts enough to fall in love? Or will the past come back to haunt them? They say love conquers all or does it?
I received this book in exchange for a honest review! In this book we follow Averianna, she believes that true love doesn't exist. She needs an escape from her terrible past, so she moves to Atlanta to start fresh and be closer to her best friend. The place that she used to call home, has horrible memories and one person she hopes to never she again. All she wants is to start fresh. Averianna is determined to stay away from men and relationships, that's the last thing she wants until she has a chance meeting with Damian Cole, a well known business man and owner of several hotels and resorts. Damian has his own damaged past he wants to keep hidden from everyone. He has never had a proper relationship and just sleeps with anyone he fancies. Fate brings these 2 back together again, and things get interesting, turning into desire that neither of them saw coming. Can Damian and Averianna fight through their bad pasts and fall in love? Or will the past come back to get them? I loved this book, it kind of reminded me of Fifty shades in parts, but defiantly had its own twists and turns. I loved Averi from the start, she fought through and broke away from a bad past and is still going strong. I also fell in love with Damian as well. He is broken and damaged but very sexy! I love books with a damaged man in. This book had so many twists and turns I just wasn't expecting them. I was so shocked at times. These characters jumped out to me from the start and then I have loved them all the way through (well nearly all of them). I am not a Gabriel fan, I wish he would just piss off and leave Averi and Damian alone. They belong together! Well done to the author on such an amazing series! Fantastic story I can not wait for the next book to find out where their story goes next! I really am hoping for a HEA with this series!
Oh I hate you, A.N. Hennessy!!! How could you give Damaged a cliffhanger ending like that? Augh! But, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Averianna is a beautiful, dirty-mouthed woman who's just ended an abusive relationship and moved to another state to recover from it. She's decided to swear off anything that screams commitment to avoid being hurt again. As luck would have it, she bumps into Damien and sparks fly.
This book was HOT! While it was not perfect the story flowed nicely. I am not usually a fan of a book that leaves me hanging and yes folks this story will leave you hanging on every word. Just when you think you've got it figured out another twist or turn heads your way. I really did enjoy this book The sarcastic humor of Averi and the ways Damian tries to resist her was one of my favorite things. I loved the way he fought it so hard and fell all the more harder for her.
