Claire is young, unprotected, and alone. The world she lives in is hostile, joyless, and dark. It seems that Claire’s best chance is focusing on survival. And even then, she might not be lucky. Like those hanging on the wall, demonstrating the power of the nobles and the futility of anyone wishing to fight against their rule.
Claire knows her limitations and thus lies low.
Until she discovers her true power.
Claire learns that she has more life baggage than she’s been made to believe, that she is capable of protecting not only herself but those around her, and that she doesn’t have to fight her battles alone. Yet, the question remains if Claire is powerful enough to save entire worlds. On the road of discovering secrets from her past and the extent of her magic, Claire also learns that the world she’d considered her home isn’t such. Moreover, other worlds exist beyond the one she knows. Overwhelmed but not discouraged by the array of astounding discoveries, Claire embarks on a mission of saving the worlds, one by one. But can she succeed?
Having been used to standing alone against the merciless world, Claire finds herself among people who seem to treat her as a friend and share her goals. She even falls in love. After the dark times that have been her life, it feels like a miracle, unreal. But maybe it all indeed is only a mirage? When people start betraying her, Claire doesn’t know what to believe in or whom to trust.
There are battles where the parties’ powers are unequal. There are tasks which seem unequal to any creature’s potential. The author takes readers on a journey where surprises and revelations await at every turn.

This isn’t just a paranormal love story, of witchcraft and intolerance, of oppression and rebellion, of secrets and lies, of slow burn passion born amidst danger and darkness, and cold hatred born of jealousy or bigotry.
It’s also a story about loyalty and betrayal, blood family feuds and chosen kindred’s unconditional allegiance, of self-discovery and self-sacrifice, of restlessness and determination, of survival and rage, of malevolence and comeuppance—all, seen through the eyes of a motley crew, brought together by fate and tightly knit by struggle; a story of hope against adversity, dashed by endless disappointments, and steely resolve to overcome them that transcends space and time; a quest steeped in darkness and dystopia, with many surprises along a grueling path, told by youthful voices of strangers forced to mature very fast and to uncover a past that, terrifying though it might be, becomes in the end, liberating—but at what cost? Overall, a most enjoyable read.

I really loved Claire’s journey in Sorcery’s Dark Embrace! Author Jupiter Rose does such a great job with the world building, crafting a bleak dystopian landscape with alternate earths, dark witches and wolf shifters, bears and dragons, ruling nobles and a rebellion, and so much more! Claire meets friends and allies along the way and I absolutely loved Rex and Scarlet! Most of all, I just really connected with the characters, with Claire’s rediscovery of who she is, learning about her family and where she comes from and her powers and how she can use them to save the people she loves. This book captivated me from start to finish! 5/5 stars

This is the first book by Juniper Rose that I have read and I must say this book captivated my attention from the beginning. This book didn't waste anytime jumping straight into the action. Honestly I thought I missed something because page one kicks it right off. With that said the action, romance, betrayal and suspense didn't stop until the last page. If you're looking for a new dystopian forbidden romance magic filled action packed book this is definitely the one for you.

"Sorcery's Dark Embrace: Witches, Shifters, And The Broken Beyond—A Dark Fantasy" was a truly enjoyable read. I snuggled up by the fireplace and got completely lost in this slow-burn story, which gradually builds to several exciting climaxes. It's a gripping tale with characters you can't help but love. Spoiler alert: I especially fell for Claire, who finds herself drawn to Kai and Rex. Definitely a "can't put it down" read, perfect for anyone who enjoys fantasy and the supernatural.
