Sari Robins was born and raised in New York, married a Southern gentleman, and lives with her family in Georgia. She is a tax attorney with a Masters at Laws in Taxation. Before changing careers, Sari worked for Delta Air Lines and a premiere tax advocacy trade association.

In 2000 Sari realized that deep inside her beat the heart of an author. Now, while using her legal skills to navigate the business of publishing, she also gets to be more creative than she ever could have been with a legal brief. She loves writing fiction, particularly narratives set in the era Jane Austen made famous, England's Regency period (1811-1820).

This story had potential. Lady spy who doesn’t seem to do a lot of spying really. We have our hero who is sort of not really engaged yet but its expected. And that is what I hate when we have him engaged and goes and kisses our heroine. I wanted more spy action and not the lawyer to the spy. It just didn’t hold up for me. Also I don’t know if the term highway to hell existed yet but it was used and I couldn’t help but notice and question it lol! Something to look up later I guess.

Page Turner

This historical romance novel was easy to get lost in. Heath and Tess were easy and straightforward. Both characters went down a long road but found the HEA in the end. I loved all the hidden secrets.

I thought this book started out good. Tess, Lady Golding, is a spy for the Foreign Office. She is set on a mission to gather information about a certain countess, who, strangely enough, sort of disappears from the story when she was to be one of the main characters. Introducing childhood friend, Mr. Heath Bartlett, lawyer extraordinaire, but who seems rather wishy-washy in his feelings for Tess. He seemed a rather boring hero, in my opinion, and that, with the weak story line that left a lot of ends open, it wasn't the page turning adventure I like to see.

I loved this book almost all the way through, but it had a very unsatisfactory ending. The writing is clever, sex scenes are steamy, love the leads, and the mystery is very good, with a couple of nice twists. However:

I hated that Tess gave up spying for Heath. "oh, I just realized that even though I've been talking about how much I love my job I will be super glad to give it up for a man so I can settle down and start making babies" BULLSHIT.
