About a Bird collects a few of these poems, where Jerry opens up about his difficult early life on the streets, discusses the challenges of being a bird in human society, and ruminates on love. Also included is a chapter of Among the Humans, an interview where he opens up about the success of his novel, and the last thing he ever wrote, a story titled "The Bird (A Very Short Novel)."
