I'm kind of surprised by how much I enjoyed this anthology, because I'm not usually one who favors them. And despite the presence of a couple of annoying characters in two of the stories, this book was still a pretty hot, fast paced read that held my interest the whole way through.

In Good Girls Don't by Shiloh Walker, kindergarten teacher Lori dumps her controlling, cheating fiancee, takes a walk on the wild side at a sex club, and hooks up with her long time best friend and next door neighbor, police detective Mike. Mike reveals his kinky sexual wild side to Lori, thinking it will be too much for her, but it's not. It's just what Lori's been looking for. But after a mind blowing weekend together, Mike gets scared of his feelings for Lori, acts like an immature a**, and avoids her. It takes a threat on Lori's life to snap Mike to his senses, but will Lori forgive him and give him another chance?

I liked this story (it was plenty hot), but when Mike acted like a jerk and hurt Lori, it lost a little of it's shine. Yes, there was a reason why Mike acted the way he did, but I didn't totally buy it. Fortunately, he redeemed himself somewhat in the end, so the story turned out okay for me.

In Irresistible by Beverly Havlir, coffee shop owner Madison is newly married to successful novelist Gavin. Madison catches Gavin kissing another woman when she surprises him at his out-of-town hotel room one morning, assumes he's been cheating on her, and leaves without letting him explain. Gavin's mad that she doesn't trust him or doesn't want to hear his explanations. But due to a bitter mother who had been cheated on in her marriage and warned Madison to never trust any man, Madison has major issues with trust. Things snowball and the still-in-love couple get a divorce. But then they get snowed in at a mountain cabin where they had spent some of their happiest times together. Will these two be able to finally work out their differences since they are literally unable to walk (or drive) away?

This was a very hot story (the H/H had trouble keeping their hands off each other), with quite a lot of passionate moments between the H/H. Their problems were definitely NOT in the bedroom. But they really had some big problems communicating and listening. The heroine annoyed me a bit in this one, and I didn't blame the hero for being hurt and upset with her. I was surprised that they let it progress as far as divorce though. The scenes in the mountain cabin were hot, hot, hot, and I knew if they could just sit down and TALK for once that maybe they would have a chance. Despite my frustration with the heroine, it was still a pretty good story.

And in Ride A Cowboy by Delilah Devlin, Katelyn's a 41 year old librarian who's just left her selfish, verbally abusive, cheating husband and moved to a small Texas town to start a new life. She meets a sexy, younger (29) cowboy/handyman named Daniel, who is helping her fix up her run down house. The sparks fly, and a hot affair begins. Katelyn's a little concerned about the age difference, but Daniel (who's also a deputy sheriff), isn't. He's got deep feelings for her, and surprisingly, Katelyn's feeling something too. But Katelyn's got a bit of a secret that Daniel doesn't know about. When she reveals it, Daniels misunderstands, and is hurt. Will Daniel walk away from the best thing that ever happened to him, or will he give Katelyn a chance to explain?

This was a sexy little May/December romance, and I really enjoyed it. Daniel was sweet and sexy, and the plot was good, but I really would have liked to see this one developed into a full length book--I think it had real potential. The ending was a little rushed and a tad unbelievable, but I went with it and enjoyed it anyway.

So, all in all, not a bad little collection if you're in the mood for some hot and spicy short stories. As anthologies go, I'd rate it a solid 4 stars.

Warning: This book contains explicit sex (including oral and anal), graphic language, light bondage, some spanking, and some use of sex toys. Not for the faint of heart.

Meh. Kinda disappointed in the latest Ellora's Cave offering. "A Hot Man is the Best Revenge" has stories by Shiloh Walker, Beverly Havlir, and Delilah Devlin.

"Good Girls Don't" by Shiloh Walker. After catching her controlling fiance having sex with his assistant, Lori decides to try something 'different' so she heads out to the newest sex club. When her handsome neighbor and best buddy spots her there, sparks fly. I didn't really like either main character which probably is why I didn't especially like this story.

"Irresistible" by Beverly Havlir is the story of a happily married couple who divorce due to a *itch and a misunderstanding. When they are snowed in alone at the same cabin where they spent their honeymoon, he decides to lure her back to him with hot sex. I thought the wife was whiny and weak so I never really got into the story.

"Ride a Cowboy" by Delilah Devlin was the best of the bunch and is the story of an older woman and a younger guy. She's skittish, but he's determined.

Like I said, meh.

"Good Girls Don't" - Shiloh Walker

I was anxious to get my hands on this anthol., as SW's story is connected to her ^^ SCORCHING HOT ^^ story in the "Cops and Cowboys" anthol. (authors: SW & Lora Leigh).

Good Girls Don't is good -- but not nearly as entertaining & erotic as the C&C story.

"Cops and Cowboys" anthol. is just excellent, and Shiloh's H.O.T. story left me literally breathless! Definitely one of the sexiest, most erotic stories/books I've read in my short time reading erotica! (Lora Leigh's story was very good too.)

The other two stories in this anthol. were good.

Fortunately I got this book via www.booksfree.com, a book rental site ... can't say it's worth buying with all the other super books out there calling our names!

Good Girls Don't - Lori and Mike had great chemistry. More action at "the club" would have made the story stronger, maybe - I mean why introduce it in the first place if not much is going to happen there.

Irresistible - I didn't really see the revenge aspect of this story, but I still liked it.

Ride a Cowboy - Cute story & hot. Could have had more conflict - like the ex showing up.
