Taking refuge on an isolated planet comes with its own complications.A few days of rest are on the horizon and Aaron, Bat, and the humans hunker down on an out-of-the-way planet to heal and stay out of Captain’s vengeful eye. With Princess Anya as a new addition to their crew, Aaron picks a spot where no one’s bound to search and he can find supplies better suited to care for the littlest royal.

But he’s now stuck with far too many humans to have time to take a breath. Planning on fixing up his ship and avoiding awkward conversations, Aaron is more than a little confused with Yvonne’s sudden and less than subtle attempts at getting him to bond with her little sister. It wouldn’t be so difficult to ignore if Yvonne would stop smiling as if they’re friends…

And if the kid didn’t decide she wants Aaron to take them all on an adventure.

Refuge is the seventh episode in the action-packed space opera series In Dying Starlight . Featuring a grumpy sarcastic cyborg, a talking badger, plenty of space travel, a cast of oddball characters, and a bit of romance, In Dying Starlight is perfect for fans of Star Wars , Firefly, and Blade Runner .

Great addition to a wonderful sci fi adventure series

Refuge is awesome! No trauma or doom or destruction, just fun and heartwarming and BAT! More sci fi series should have a happy book like this where the readers and characters get to rest from the thrills and chills of the plot line. Bravo to the author!

This was the perfect rest-stop. The last couple books have been very action-heavy and this one was just so cozy!!

Also, Aaron and the kid?? Perfection.

Content: Still some language but this is much more on par with the first couple of books. Very much toned down in comparison to the last couple.

cozy sci-fi with found family!

Very cute side quest with lots of emotional growth and laughs! Love that everyone teases Aaron so much and he puts up with it.
