Brides of the Kindred books 1-4: Claimed, Hunted, Sought, and Found all together in one volume.

One of the great pleasures of writing science fiction is the opportunity to start from scratch and make up new worlds and the people that inhabit them. In CLAIMED, the first book of the the Brides of the Kindred series, I am introducing a race of genetic traders who have traveled the universe for centuries looking for viable matches to expand their gene pool. Since a genetic anomaly ensures that their population is ninety-five percent male, they are specifically looking for women.

A race of Genetic Traders from beyond the stars
Three very different types of men
All looking for one thing… their brides

The three genetic trades the Kindred have already made have resulted in three very specific types of men. But though they take on some of the physical characteristics of the race they are trading with, the Kindred gene always ensures three things: physical prowess, extremely large and muscular body structure, and undying loyalty to the female of their choice.

Beast Kindred come from Rageron—a jungle planet full of beautiful but deadly flora and fauna. They have dark hair, golden eyes, and hot tempers but their most defining characteristic is the mating fist. The mating fist is an area at the base of the Beast Kindred’s shaft which engages fully only during bonding sex with his chosen mate. This ensures sex that is both tantric and multiorgasmic for both partners.

Blood Kindred are blond with pale blue eyes and come from Tranq Prime where ice, snow, and arctic-like temperatures are the norm. To combat the severe weather conditions, the Blood Kindred have higher than normal body heat with double the human amount of red blood cells. They have developed specific biting rituals to share their supercharged blood and take the blood of their mates during their own version of bonding sex. They have a set of double fangs located where a human’s canine teeth would be. These fangs do not develop fully or become sharp enough to pierce flesh until a Blood Kindred is with a woman he wishes to mate and bond with.

Twin Kindred come from Twin Moons—a world of vast, stormy oceans dotted with craggy but beautiful islands. True to their namesake, Twin Kindred always come in pairs. The brothers are not identical, however. There is always a light twin and a dark twin. These labels refer not just to skin, hair, and eye coloring but to the twin’s moods and perceptions of the world. The dark twin in the pair is usually more moody and withdrawn while the light twin takes a substantially brighter view of life. The twins are psychicly linked and able to hear and sense each other’s thoughts and emotions. They cannot be separated by long distances or for long periods of time without severe pain. They must also share a woman, linking her into their mental and emotional exchange for very intense ménage sex.

In all their years of travel the Kindred have come across only three worlds with species close enough to their own to initiate a trade.

Earth is the fourth.

After saving the Earth from the ravaging attack of the Scourge (actually a genetic trade gone wrong, a fact which most of the Kindred are unaware of) the Kindred warriors demand compensation from the governments of Earth—the right to call brides from among our world’s population. Having no choice (the Scourge are still out there) Earth agrees. A type of draft is set up and every unmarried woman between the ages of nineteen and thirty-five is required to register. The chances of winning this “bed-an-alien” contest are about the same as winning the lottery—very rare—but it does happen on a regular basis.

She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

Genres; Adult, Erotica, Romance, Sci-fi, Suspense
3.8 Combined Stars Averaged

Book #1 Claimed
4.5 Stars

I loved this book.

It started out quick, hard and fast. The story was engrossing and set up intriguing. The writing was great, so it flowed really well & kept your attention. There were some really intense moments. The romance (of course) & the sex scenes, for the most part, were captivating.

A few places got a bit to wordy. Words that could have been used to up the intensity factor in the 'scary' sections. Also, there was a section towards the end that just seemed to happen WAY to quickly.
If I could talk to Evangeline Anderson I would tell her to get rid of the 'Wordy' sections & give the frightening sections the same intensity as the sex. After all, both parts make your heart beat faster and your gut clench. And isn't that what a great story is all about?

Book #2 Hunted
3.5 Stars

The world of the Brides of the Kindred is erotic and passionate. Filled with sensuality and eroticism. You will definitely feel their emotions. The worlds they come from are enticing and remarkable.

My problems with Hunted is the areas of mental dialogue. They are to repetitive and happen to often in the story. I also noticed towards the end of the story editing problems. There are also times the writing becomes a bit to puerile.

Book #3 Sought
3.5 stars.

I hoped it would be at least 4 stars. Unfortunately, Sought has even more of the same problems that has followed this series so far.

I have to say I love the concept of the series & there are great erotic scenes that are really steamy. But.......I have 2 major problems with the stories.

#1 The repetitiveness! Whole pages that are not necessary to the story. They detract from it in an extensive way. These monotonous sections should have been used to increase the risky and dangerous situations the characters find themselves in. But those are rushed and have unconvincing miraculous endings.

#2 The immature and absurd way the females behave. Way to much crying and 'squeeing'! That is a word from the book, which seems to mean a high pitched squeal.

This series could have been breathtaking, but books #2 & #3 have been mediocre.

Book #4 Found
3.75 Stars

"Found" is much better than book 3, but I have issues with the amount of editing problems that Ms. Anderson has not taken care of. These include numerous spelling errors and words in the wrong place.

I also have trouble with some of the 'sci-fi' aspects in her world build. Some of these elements are intriguing and show off Ms. Anderson's imagination. Others are just flat out ridiculous. They tend to be a bit like
'Alice in Wonderland' on an acid trip.

Then there is her insistence on inserting inane information and conversations. This leads me to one of my biggest problems with these stories.
The amount of insipid conversations DURING the 'Love' scenes. They take away from the passion and fluidity of the moment.

The story of Lauren and Xairn is much more adult than the last two books. Lauren is a very independent and confident woman.
Their relationship is much more erotic and complicated. As characters, they are both well defined and I enjoyed their adventure together.

I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this series, but I instantly fell in love with it. This collection of the first 4 stories talks about the life of two sisters: Olivia and Sophia, their cousin Lauren and their best friend Kat and we learn how they become brides of the Kindred warriors and how this changes their life.
The book is Erotica as well as Sci Fi fiction with fantacy and paranormal elements.
The series has fanatic fans. As a result, until 2016 seventeen long length books and one short novel in total have been published.

#1. Claimed: 2.5 stars.
This one’s a lot lengthier than it needs to be, partially due to repetitiveness. I enjoyed the beginning plot set-up, world-building and imaginative technology (although if you're familiar with Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. most of this will seem somewhat familiar) but the emotional component drags after a while and the h has a few too many TSTL moments.

It made her feel horrible, like the worst kind of tease to go so far with him and then refuse him anything else.

Jillian seemed so happy and well adjusted here on the Kindred ship. It was hard to admit that she herself wasn’t.
Only because you won’t let yourself be.

“Well I’ve got to try, at least!” Liv burst out. “Look, Sylvan—I’ve been a complete idiot up until now…

No shit Sherlock.
The rest of the stories are pretty much the same flavor of stuff, give or take a star.

#2. Hunted: 3.5 stars.

#3. Sought: 3 stars.

#4. Found: 3.5 stars.

Upon finishing the four-book volume I'm finding the novels oddly addictive, though I'm really not sure if they've gotten better or not. If you're looking for some light, fluffy, entertaining reading material about too-good-to-be-true alien hunks who find kinky sex "normal," this'll probably fit the bill. Overall, I'd give 3.5 stars, but I'll bump it to 4 seeing that I may be tempted to read more of this world.

Deep and Lock might consider it perfectly normal to share a woman but it still counted as kinky in her book.

Book one
This sci-fi is a lot different then I was expecting. The story revolves around Baird (alien) and Olivia (human). Baird expresses how much Olivia mean to him straight away no messing about but Olivia is totally overwhelmed by this huge scary alien telling her she's his bride and she'll only see her friends and family once twice a year. Olivia try's to resist Baird but the the mating heat and exotic smell coming from Baird it's getting hard to deny her feelings. Only other action is quite late in book but a welcome change. Olivia's attitude does get a little boring with all hot and cold feeling/action towards Baird but does fit in story and makes the HEA even better. Great story looking forward to Baird brother finding his perfect bride.
Book two
I really enjoyed this book. Love the world it based in. Sophie is at times annoying she's very hot n cold with Sylvan giving him very mixed signals and how many times can u be captured by the AllFather. It seems that they have loads of warriors and there always on defensive hurt or getting captured.
Otherwise did like book hopefully Kat's book as a different tone to it other then u scare me, I don't like u but secretly I want u.
Book three
Really enjoyed this book was different with opposite twins not agreeing Lock is light twin happy looks on bright side, Deep is brooding pessimists and holding back from fully embracing Kat and Lock. At times this book drags and I think could moved along faster in story but in long run was a good book and even though Kat Deep n Lick were captured by bad guys it did help story.
Book four
This is my favourite in series. A lot goes on and most of previous character jump in and out of the story. I really liked that Lauren is the go get him type and Xairn was the one putting the brakes on the relationship. There's parts in book the are difficult to read and upset but the story is great and love the HEA for Lauren and Xairn. Looking forward to Nadiah and detective Rash

I will read the next set.

These were good. 3.5
I liked the characters for the most part. The action was good and lots of unique Sci-Fi elements to make both plot and sex between aliens and human females believable.

This is a box set and frank!y each book was too long. Far too much angst. I found myself skipping over parts of the repetitive internal self loathing only for it to be resolved too quickly.

Still the stories are well interconnected. I would not read them as standalones, nor out of order. Characters in each book return and play roles in each book. Plenty of sex in each book. But it doesn't always feel sexy because of the angst. I am hoping this improves.

I loved the author's vivid imagination and the whole fictional universe she created for this series. I just wished I had liked the heroines better. Lauren from the fourth book was my favorite. The others came across as incredibly moody and emotionally abusive to the heroes. Not one of them was happy to have a super hot alpha male interested in them? Seriously? The first book was the best. The second one went past space opera into soap opera territory at times. For example, there were melodramatic moments like, Overall, there were some really great elements to this box set. Other readers may identify more with the heroines than I did.

I'll go 3.5. The first story was boring and slow and I thought I wouldn't finish the compilation but it picked up. The 2 &3 rd stories were feast and full of adventure. The 4th one was okay, better than the first one anyway. She sucks you in because the ground work for book 2 is all over book one and so on and so forth. And now I'm compelled to read book 5 because I want to know what happened with their characters!!!

An erotic, emotional journey with strong characters and fantastic world building

This is not a genre I normally read, but once I started this box set, I couldn't put it down. The stories aren't perfect but they are well written. At times they're too sexual. I felt that cutting some of the repetitive sexual stuff, particularly in the first two books, would make those very good stories great. That said, the emotional journeys of these characters were compelling, and other worlds, cultural differences and interactions endlessly fascinating. I read this first four books on as many days and am hooked on the series.

While the male characters were all superbly written, some of the heroines were whiney and childlike. Some of Sophie's backstory in particular could have been cut and made that story better. That said, Sylvan was a wonderful counterpart to this very broken women. All of the characters were matched to their mates. I really enjoyed the hilarious interaction between Kat, Lock, and Deep. Twin Moons was also a really neat place to visit.

Perhaps my favorite character was Xairn. He had a wonderful character arc in these books and sweet, sunny Lauren was his perfect match. The author wove their story and their solution beautifully through multiple books. These characters alone will keep me reading the rest of the series. I also love how the author weaves the characters we already know into the sequels, where they continue to grow and change. Great series, even with a few flaws and editing issues. Highly recommended reading if you like sci-fi, romance, action, and adventure.

I ran across this series on a blog that I follow. I can’t remember who the blogger was, but she had a really good review about these books. At that time, book 17 hadn’t been published. The review intrigued me, and I wanted to give them a try. The first 4 books came as a box-set, so I went ahead and bought it. Now, I’m hooked. This is definitely one of my guilty pleasure series, and I will be reading the rest, one-by-one. You can buy the whole set, but that’s a lot of money to fork out all at once.

Claimed introduces us to the Kindred Warriors, who they are, and why the are mostly a male species. The only way they can repopulate is by claiming females of the different worlds they contract with. Olivia happens to be one such female, and she fights the bonding tooth and nail. She doesn’t want to leave her new career and twin sister, Sophia.

The Kindred Warriors are huge, powerful males. There are three types: Beast Kindred, Blood Kindred, and Twin Kindred. Each type has their own mating/bonding rituals. They are very sexual animals, but they also worship and protect the females they bond for life with.

Baird is a Beast Kindred, and as he tries explaining to Olivia what’s involved in the bonding ritual, she wants no part of it. The breeding organ of a Beast Kindred can be overwhelming for a small, human female. Kindred Warriors also love talking dirty, and aren’t afraid of telling you what they’re going to do to you. That part gets a little repetitive, but that’s their nature, so I can forgive them.

The story is very well-written with the fighting back and forth between Olivia and Baird, as she tries resisting his mating scent and the bonding. The characters are well-established and I couldn’t help but fall in love with both of them, hoping they would finally find each other.

My favorite part of this book was when Olivia went to visit a friend who was mated to Twin Kindred’s and she ended up in the unmated area of the ship. Baird hadn’t been able to scent mark her yet, so she was open prey to any unmated male that wanted to claim her.

Hunted is the story of Olivia’s twin sister, Sophia and Baird’s brother, Sylvan. The attraction between these two started in the first book, but they fought it as Sylvan was dealing with a previous failed bonding, and had sworn to never claim another bride, and Sophia had a fear of needles and vampires. See, for a Blood Kindred to bond, and implant their seed, they need to bite you. I would have to agree with Sophia’s take on this. I hate needles myself. YUCK!

This book goes into more detail about the AllFather and the Scourge and why they are mortal enemies of the Kindred. The AllFather had a prophecy about a girl with a mark on her chest, and he thinks that girl is Sophia. She could be the restart of their race, by breeding with her and siring new offspring. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many true Scourges left. I think it’s only the AllFather and his son.

While running from the AllFather, Sophia and Sylvan crash land in a remote area on Earth. There, they must hide from the AllFather’s beasts, and the only way to do that is by marking Sophia with his scent. There’s a lot more sexual tension between these two than there was between Baird ad Olivia.

Sophia is the weaker of the twins, but she rises to the challenge. I think I like her character better than Olivia’s. One thing I noticed, her name was spelled several ways, Sophia or Sophie. I’m not sure if that was the Kindred way of saying her name or not. My favorite scene is the book was while they were in the cabin. It was pretty hot.

Out of the four books I’ve read so far, Sought is my second favorite. I really identified with Kat as I’m also a curvy, plus-sized gal, and I would love having two studs lusting over me.

Kat, Deep, and Lock were introduced in the second book. See how the author does that. Each story gets more detailed with characters, and world building. The story line behind these books is plotted very well. It just keeps you wanting to read the next one to see what happens with the new characters that the previous book ends with.

This was a longer book, as the characters had to travel over several different planets, looking for the cure to save Kat. I loved the light and dark twins of Lock and Deep. I favored Deep the most. I felt their anguish as they tried reconciling their differences with themselves and Kat. Out of the three different mating bonds of the Kindred Warriors, this is the one I would opt for. I would love having two males fawning over me. Sigh.

As with each book, the animosity between the characters drive the story forward, as well as the sexual tension. The Twin Kindred requires the mating of both brothers at the same time with their female. Pretty kinky, and hot. The best scenes were when Lock, Deep, and Kat mind-melded to search for Sophia and then Lauren. But this also caused their problems.

Found is my favorite of the four books. I felt very deeply for Xairn in the last book, and I couldn’t wait to see how he overcame his father, and the rising brutal lust that was part of his DNA. I’m not into BDSM, so that part of the book didn’t really do much for me, but it was all the evil and horror he endured at the AllFather’s hands that endeared him to me. And Lauren was a great buffer to his hurt soul, though she also suffered at the AllFather’s hands.

We travel off world with this book too, and once again are introduced too a wide range of alien life forms and ideals. Trying to escape his father, Xairn takes them to a planet where they can change their DNA signature. I agree with Lauren, I preferred Xairn when he looked like a Scourge instead of a human. That’s what made him unique.

Once they got back to Earth, I thought the pace slowed down too much. The see-sawing back and forth between should Xairn relent to his feelings, or should he keep trying to hold himself under control was a bit much.

I do have to say, each book could’ve done with a bit of polishing in the proofreading department.

If you love hot, steamy books, with a terrific science-fiction, paranormal storyline, you have to read this series. I give the box-set 5 feathers

WHEW!!! These books are so hot they're on FIRE!
The only downside is that her editor(s) could have done a better job (but since it's very similar to what I do for a living, it may stand out more to me). The little mistakes tended to trip me up here and there, breaking up the great flow of the read. That being said:
I really enjoyed how Ms. Anderson builds up the relationships between all the characters continuously, so that you're always getting glimpses into each characters' life, feelings, thoughts, etc. She does a great job describing her characters as well - I cried for them, ached with them, worried with them, everything. And the sex scenes are so perfectly graphic (although more delicate readers might not enjoy some of the wording she uses)... mmmmm. ;) I'm so happy I decided to get these books for myself as my birthday present!

I have really mixed feelings about this one

It is rare that I read a series where I really don't like the main characters and get I keep reading. Love the guys, but the girls are whiny, judgmental, and a bit to negative for my taste. Yes, they end up together but I am mystified as to how the guys can continue to pursue them. The only saving grace is the 4 novels (I am halfway through the second) appear to be more one long book chapters in book 2 jump from one couple to another with 3 storylines going at once and setting up for book 3, possibly 4. At least I only have to listen to main female whine intermittently.

OH MY GOD!! SO GREAT!!

This book collection was amazing! The way it was written makes u want to read it continuously & makes u eager for the next one! The way Evangeline has all the different characters so lifelike and u can tell she genuinely cares about each and every one of the characters bc nobody is off to the side. Even if they are not a "main" character at the moment, she makes sure u get to know them & u know they will have their own story later on.

The Mates !

Four books in a set, wow! The Scifi concept is interesting with Earth needing protecting from an evel sinister entity. Earth is being protected by a race called the Kindred and all they want is access to human females. They must register between 18 & 34 if they are single and then go in a draw to see who gets called up.

Interesting

I have how read the first four books in the series. I think I now have a handle on our author’s fantasy life. I think I would like to date her, but I wouldn’t last out the day
Honestly I’m not sure whether I envy her husband or fear for his life.

I absolutely love this series. I read it so obsessively that I finished the first four in as many days. This is not to say that they are short by any means. A normally paced reader might finish one in a week or longer.

Kindred Dominance

Liked Sylvan the most, then the twin Kindred Deep and Lock, then Xairn. Baird is my least favourite as he initiated spanking as a punishment without any warning. Whether or not Olivia liked it or not does not make it okay.
