Army doctor, Captain George Knight, is career focused and eager to see action. When he helps out a fellow doctor, Sandra Fisher, after an accident, he's not looking for romance. But this pretty, unassuming woman has secret hidden depths that fascinate him. When he's sent away to war, Sandra has her own challenges to face. Can their love survive the heartbreaking test that fate has in store for them?

This review has spoilers **** This story was heartwarming and full of all the emotions that goes with a military wife or girl friend. Part of the book learned more on heat wrenching emotions than it did on facts. Sandra worked around the military. She knew how to send a red cross message being the doctor she was. In any emergency you can send your soldier a red cross message. For the death of a child, the military would have made sure George was home for the funeral. My husband served 23 years in the Army. I can't speak for the other branches of service. I can speak for the U.S Army, and I will tell you they take care of their own. The Army is like a big family.
I'm only giving this book three stars, because it was not backed up with facts about the Army or military life. No father would go 3 weeks not knowing his child had passed away. This would happen only if the family members chose not to contact the military.

Sandra Fisher and George Knight went to medical school together. They ended up interning at the same hospital which was hard for Sandra because she had always had a crush on George but didn't think she was good enough for him. Little did she know George was attracted to her too.
George was a military doctor so he could be called away at any time. Sandra was a civilian and didn't think she could be a military wife but when George asked her out, she couldn't resist. Time goes on and they get engaged. Sandra gets pregnant but George is called away right before the wedding. Sandra is devastated but carries on with her life.
This was an enjoyable romance with some unexpected twists. It was quite a tear jerker. The writing is smooth with an easy to follow story line. I found the title to be misleading and combined with the cover picture with a young boy on it, I expected something different.
This is such a touching story that begins a while family and friends. Living with a military man must be trying for all but when you both are doctors it's even more. Sandra knew George from Vikki but when they work inn the same hospital in London is when they really get to know each other and it's the start of something beautiful.
kindle book after mooching through the romance section in kindle deals Radley is the babys name Sandra is the perfectly nice nurse and george is the army career doctor all very twee but it did make my cry finished it in the hot sunshine sitting in the garden 19 may 2020
the next book in the series is about Radley the son
This was a disappointing read, which I found to be quite depressing. Mixing Military duty and families, has always been tough for those involved. Duty has always been first. They could have gotten married by a Justice of the Peace, then had the church wedding later. Way too much drama, with so little plot.
First time reading this author but definitely not the last. I really enjoyed reading George and Sandra's story. How true it is about military life in general. What a great read...make sure you have tissues handy.
Helen Scott Taylor is the only author who manages to make me appreciate cute and cuddly clichés. I've read and absolutely loved quite a few of the author's Adult Romances, and they have always left me feeling warm and wonderful, be it on a cold winter night or on a hot summer day. The Army Doctor's Forever Baby wasn't any different. Although full of sickeningly sweet stuff that I'm not the biggest fan of, Helen Scott Taylor, as always, managed to make it a cute and enjoyable read.
The Army Doctor's Forever Baby is the prequel to the Army Doctor's Baby series. It is a novella of less than a hundred pages. In this prequel, we meet George who looks after his former classmate and now colleague Sandra when she has a minor accident. The first half of this novella was super sweet as the two doctors had always experienced an attraction towards each other, but never really did anything about it. Then the story went on to become very been there, done that. It wasn't anything different and extraordinary, but since I haven't read many (or any) books that revolve around the military, the heartbreak and longing in The Army Doctor's Forever Baby was very sweet for me.
George and Sandra, our main characters, were wonderful people. Although they both had their respective dreams and life choices, once they made a commitment, they stuck to it. The parents from both sides were so warm and welcoming, and I wish we had got to read more about them. It was nice to see how much importance the protagonists gave to their parents. I also adored the fact that this novella is set in the United Kingdom. That was a refreshing and much needed change. Plus, there is a dog in the story (and he's on the book cover too!).
Overall, I would say that in spite of The Army Doctor's Forever Baby being full of clichés, the book is quite a sweet read that will leave the reader smiling.
Dr. Sandra Fisher was a timid woman, with a harsh childhood memories of bullying by her classmates because she was not pretty enough. That made her the quiet woman she was today. She was smart and pretty in her own way. One day after arriving to work from at accident she suffer, she was rescued by the man she had a crush, she had had it since school, George Knight was a gorgeous man but she knew she was not his type.
After helping Sandra from her accident, Dr. George Knight finally had the chance to take a good look at her and he finally saw the woman that she was a naturally beautiful, smart and could hold a conversation where she was not the center of the attention. When the opportunity presented it self George invites Sandra to be his date for his good friend wedding and that is where their romance began.
Being away due to his military career Sandra and George's love will be put to a major test in life, something that will change their course of their relationship.
Can their love be strong enough to endure everything that is thrown at them? Or will it give up and break their fragile hearts?
I love this story, it was beautifully written and it had a powerful plot, yet the love you read was unbreakable. Can't wait to continue reading about this series.
This gets a 3.4 out of five stars. Everything happened too easily. Yes, it's a romance, but all the conflict seemed superficial. And the biggest problems were caused by separation. I did like Sandra, but George seemed a little too good to be true. I need my hero to have a few flaws and not always act in exactly the right way. This was a quick read. I won the book as a prize. I'm not sorry I read it, but I don't think the rest of the series is for me. I need some mystery or danger to make romances compelling. The writing is fine. If you like sweet, happily-ever-after romances with perfect heroes, I'm sure you'll fall in love with this series.
An excellent story that sets up for the rest of the series. As I was reading through the story, I thoyght that the story was a little like an outline. There didn't appear to be many places where the events were expounded upon. This is true but the story snuck up on me. There must have been enough because I, who rarely express the emotions from a story, found mysekf shedding a few tears as the story played out. This alone makes the story a 5 in my book.
This book is about love, babies and marriage. Being in the service serving your country can wreck hazards on a relationship. Never knowing when you'll be deployed. Having to leave behind the one you love. Not knowing if you'll make it back alive but having that one thing that trumps all Family. Having something and someone to come back to.
This was a sweet, moderately paced romance. Sandra was very shy and seemed to have some self-esteem issues that I never did figure out why she had them. George was tall, strong and completely supportive of Sandra. They experience a loss and George is there to show Sandra there really is something worthwhile in there future.
These books just continue to get better and better. I found myself loving this book from the very first page and was sad to see it end. I LOVE this author and can't wait to read all her future stories.
wasn't the best book I have ever read but it kept me entertained. as a military veteran, I like books that have military characters. I will probably read other books in the series.
This was a short story but I did find myself crying towards the end. It was clean but a different type tan I have been reading. If you are looking for a quick book to read I would recommend this book.
This was a quick read and pleasant, although everything happened too quickly and I would have liked a longer story, especially with what happened to the initial pregnancy. I like to bond more with characters and experience more of their ups and downs, but for a short novella, it worked.
Such a nice change of pace. No melodrama no major back and forth. Just a genuine love story. And a real eye opener to what our troops truly do sacrifice to fight for their country.
If you love a good love story without the erotic sex scenes; this book us one of the best. It is a simple heart-warming story of love. A feel-good book.
