About the author
Despoina Kemeridou
7 books275 followersDespoina Kemeridou is a multi-genre author, poet, and graphic designer. She started writing in 2009 and immediately knew this was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
Kemeridou was born in 1996 in Thessaloniki, Greece. She studied Midwifery at the International University of Greece. Alongside writing, Kemeridou likes reading, photography, sketching, and painting.
She started self-publishing in 2018 and has since self-published three books. Currently, she is working on a dark fantasy retelling of a mixture between the myth of Hades and Persephone and the Beauty and the Beast fairytale.

All these feelings remain

A short but evocative collection of poems that explore love and connection. Definitely got me in the mood for more poetry!

Because I Love You is a thoughtful and beautiful collection of poetry - themes of vulnerability and genuine love are expressed throughout. Illustrating that true love doesn't care for your flaws or past. You care for that person because you love them for who they are.
My personal favourites were: Don't turn away, My safe place and If I ever find you.
You can see Despoina wrote this with passion for the person she loves.

“Because I Love You” by Despoina Kemeridou
🖤It was one of the deepest and most tender love poems I’ve recently read. This collection of love poems envelops me with the gentle veil of loving vibes that penetrate deep into my bookish soul and human heart.
🖤The Plot: I’ve read almost all the books by this author, and I noticed that despite the genre, the author managed to create a unique, unforgettable world, where sense, feelings, and reflections are heightened and can be perceived twice as deeply. In this collection of love poems, every single poem is vein-pulsating and leads directly to the heart that never lies and lives according to the rules of almighty feeling–love.
🖤The Writing Style: This collection is written so beautifully, as if the author turns into an artist for a while, who delicately adores a reader’s soul with mesmerizing intricacies, lines, and whimsical drawings. Even though the heart is drunk with love guiding the style, the poems are well-thought-out and cleverly written. Each of the poems grabs attention and leaves an imprint on the heart. The collection is glorious, touching, wise, and memorable. I have three fave poems: “Craving You,” “Be My Ending,” and “Eternal Wish,” which is the fave of the faves.

Short and sweet
This is a collection of short poems, the longest being maybe 20 lines. As the author points out in the intro, they are written for her partner. That shines through in each poem. If you are the kind of person who likes a somewhat intimate look into couple's love story, you will like this.
If you have a significant other that might like a romantic verse left on the refrigerator door, but you yourself have no ability to write one, this could be your answer. Just don't steal, give credit where credit is due!
I myself am looking forward to reading more by Ms. Kemeridou.

The whole collection was great! But "Eternal Wish" really hit me in the feels. Even if it wasn’t exactly what Despoina intended, some of these poems made me think of my grandpa, who passed last year... and yeah, it brought tears. The raw emotion and haunting honesty in her voice linger long after the last line. Despoina weaves darkness and hope together in a way that stays with you. If you want poetry that grabs you by the heart, this collection delivers.

This has been utterly beautiful.
So damn relatable, and worth every minute spent reading it (and every penny I spent buying it). I am pretty sure I will be re-reading this little poetry collection quite a few times over the course of my life.
Poetry right from the heart straight into the heart. It touched the very core of my soul.
I loved it and think you should at least give it a try - if you enjoy reading poetry, even if it's just a little bit and only sometimes.
I also think more people should release poetry collections as a gift to their partners. Such a wonderfully romantic idea and gesture. <3

I'm a big fan of Despoina's poetry. The other collections have a bit of darkness. She went a different route with this one, giving me a sense of hope and feelings of love. I really enjoyed this book. Being I'm writing this review in February 2025, it is the perfect read for the month of love, and would make an excellent gift to give a significant other. Or how romantic would it be to read this book to a love on Valentine's Day? Swoon.

A great short and sweet collection of poetry about being in love and all the flourishing feelings and joy it can bring in this collection my favourite poems that stood out were, Safe space and Your Warm Embrace.
Really lovely poems especially capturing the power human connection can have from an initial connection to flourishing friendship or love.

Fun little book of poetry! I enjoyed the author’s latest collection which covers love and relationships. The poems are thoughtful and memorable! My favorite poem was “Always Yours”
