That Blurb you read for this book tells you about how Terra Heggan is going to sacrifice her own happiness to save the family business. She is going to marry into money....
To Terra, it's no big deal as she thinks she is well past the age of finding true love anyway.
So she and her younger twin sister Lanni go rock climbing, a last adventure as a single woman.....Man, she has no idea what an adventure they are both about to embark on! Like ending up in another reality kind of adventure...
I don't want to give spoilers so I will just tell you that all the different mythological creatures within the five Kingdoms of this reality just boggle the mind. And you remember how Terra said she would never find true love? Yeah, we all know how that goes.....just when your not looking for it, Shazam! Turns out that King Draven, who can shift into a dragon is Terra's intended. But it would seem that someone else wants the throne & all the power that goes with it and will stop at nothing to get it. There is so much going on here, plots within plots, friends that could be foe. This had me from the very first chapter right to the very last sentence, which left me with my jaw hitting the floor having an Oh No No No moment.
I can not wait for the next installment...There isn't even a cliff to hang on to here, so I hope it is soon!

I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock.
To Light the Dragon's Fire is the first book in a potential up coming series.
Terra and her twin sister Lanni decide to take a trip to the mountains of Wyoming before Terra gets married. She's getting married to try to save her family's finances not for love. She always tries to fix other people's problems. While her and her sister are in the mountains they discover a cave. In the cave they discover a whole new world. Dravern is the dragon king ruling over the kingdom because he was born into it. After his father was impeached and killed himself the crowd fell into his lap. His trusted advisor Arin has been with him over the years. When the humans stumble upon their world, all four get thrown into a foretold prophecy of danger and love. The magical journey is about to begin and nothing is what it seems.
An excellent beginning to a new fantasy series! Full of different magical creatures you will not find yourself bored. I was pulled in from the first page and left wanting more. Each character is unique and genuine. Terra is a strong willed independent woman who always does things to benefit others. Things become out of her control and she has to decide what she really wants. Dravern is used to people respecting him and following orders when he comes across Terra he's not prepared for the fiery spirited woman. He is a sexy dragon shifter who needs to figure out who and what he really wants. I was hoping for more from him and hopefully in future books we will be able to see more of him. Lanni is always used to living in her sister's shadow but she finds her strength with Arin. Arin is used to being thought of as the lowest of the lows but when he meets Lanni, she treats him like he's special. Can Arin learn to have worth in himself with Lanni as Lanni discovers her newfound confidence.
The story left you waiting for the next installment. It was filled with mystery, love, betrayal, danger and nonstop action.
I recommend this tale for people looking for a great fantasy adventure.
I rate this 5 fangs.

*This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*

I have been a fan of Margaret Taylor's work for a while now, since she submitted a review request for the first book In her Spi Corps series, so when she offered me an ARC of her new series how could I say no?!

There is always the worry with a new book that it won't be everything you hoped but I needn't have worried because yet again Margaret knocked it out the park.

This book has everything paranormal romance lovers could possibly be looking for AND MORE! I mean the bad guy is an evil unicorn ....Yes you read that correctly .... AN EVIL UNICORN!! Who does that? Seriously genius! I laugh just writing it down but this villain isn't someone to mess with either. This is not a tongue in cheek situation by any means.

My only complaint is one that I am sure this author is used to hearing. She certainly hear it often enough from me! You get to the end too soon ..... And the next book isn't started yet!,

A well deserved 5 out of 5 stars for me!! Simply fabulous!

This was amazing.

I can't even begin to describe how pleasantly surprised and pleased I was with this book.

One more cryptic gif that you won't understand how funny it really is until you read the book. Cause you should totally read this book. So amazing.

Song Choice: "Murder in the City" by The Avett Brothers, "Latch" by Disclosure, "You Are the Moon" by the Hush Sound

First thoughts: Okay, okay let me say this first and foremost. I am terrified to read Shifter books anymore, I LOVE THEM, I LOVE LOVE LOVE SHIFTERS, weres whatever. I love them. But whenever I seem to come across them its a book that is paranormal erotica, which is fine, once in awhile, but dammit I want a book thick with plot, and adventure, and yes some romance. THANK YOU MARGARET TAYLOR!! THANK YOU!!! Uhhhh I am not even going to lie going in this my first thoughts were, alright its going to be dragon-shifter "erotica" without the erotica title, it wasn't. It was adventure, action, mystery, intrigue, it was FUCKing FANTASTIC! I loved every moment of this. I started it and had to be pried away from it. Pried. Seriously.

Thoughts on Plot: So not going to lie again, starting this out, I was pretty sure I was going to be scared out of my mind. Why? Because the first dragon we come across is literally two football fields big, and doesn't seem to have a human form. I was like oh no....oh noooo, not please....So thank god, call me weird but I am not into seeing animals and humans getting it on, no matter if the said "animal" is as intelligent and human-istic, just no. So yeah I was a little (a lot) worried. And they were in another world!! ANOTHER WORLD!! It was insane!! I was thrown off with the fact this was more of a Fantasy Paranormal novel, I loved it! Took me awhile to get the termology down, but i got it, and I soared right through this book. I loved how it wasn't conventionally set up where it is, lets sit and build up to the "conflict" and "problems" it was like lets do this thing, and lets do it now. Right off the bat we are thrown into action, and the whole book keeps up this way, I don't even know how I managed to stop reading it to be perfectly honest. I was so set on reading this until the bitter end... BWHAHAHAHA but alas i couldn't. I had to get up in the morning to go to work (and not ;) ;) secretly finish reading it there) and I am not one of those people that is just like screw it, i will just be tired at work. So anyways UGHHH SOOOOO MUCCH LOVE!!! I can't get over how amazing this was!! Not only does she have dragon-shifters (YUMMY) but she brought in a wide variety of new paranormals, that range from unicorns to chimera and if you don't know what that is look it up ;) OR better yet read this book ;) And if you know me, you know I love my unusual paranormals! So the writing? Fantastic! Okay so I do have to say this, at first i thought the villain species choice was a little cheesy, but i grew to really respect the hell out of her decision, and now I am so in love with it, its not even funny.

Characters:

Terra: So originally, I thought this book going got be for her and her beau, and I was pleasantly surprised when it included Arin, and Lanni. I will get to them soon. But Terra was the "older" twin, in all senses of the word, really. I mean Lanni had her moments and i will get to her in a moment, but Terra was strong willed, feisty and all around an awesome character. She was willing to give up everything in order to save her family, so when she goes on one last trip with the sis, she gets everything she deserves, in a good way. I liked her a lot and I thought she was a very interesting character. For some reason though as I tend to do, I "fall" for the side/underdog. To me Terra was no the underdog in this situation, Lanni was and therefore, she almost automatically became my favorite twin.

Lanni: So she is the younger one, she parents dotted, and loved on Terra more, she got it better. Which surprised me to learn because it always seemed almost like Terra was resentful for the role Lanni got so i was expecting to be the other way around. Lanni is the reader, and she has a hot tempter but I really liked her. While she has a hot tempter i saw her as more of the "gentle" twin, and I really like gentle characters, I don't know why i do, but i usually always side with them. I am very excited to see where she is headed, in the book :D

Draven: Big Alpha male type, who is a dragon shifter, what isn't there to like? I really enjoyed him and I am excited to learn more about him ^.^

Arin: Now he is VERY interesting to me. I really liked the idea of him, and i am interested in his past, (of course i am super interested in him, how could I not be, he is interested in Lanni XD) anyways. I look forward to continuing his story as well. ^.^

So the ending: I can't even recall how many times I saw people were pissed off with the cliffhanger at the end of this. I mean yeah it wasn't nice, but it also was NOT the worst i had ever seen, seriously it was pretty tame. And if i wasn't so infatuated with this series anyways, I could wait if I had to. Luckily I don't have to the second off is out, and I bought it half way through this one XD hahaha NOW im off to read more :D

To Light The Dragon's Fire: Dragons, Griffons and Centaurs, Oh My! By Margaret Taylor. Narrated by Fred Wolinsky.

Oh my, is how I felt Margaret Taylor has written the beginnings of a fantastic series. A lot was packed into this slightly 7+ hour audiobook. I fell in love with every character from the good guys to the bad guys. Even though I routed for the good guys all the way thru the book.

So let me get started here! The beginning is a great place! Twin sisters out on a last adventure hiking the mountains of Wyoming. That’s before one of them, Terra is going to be married in a few days to a man she really is not that in love with. Then why get married? Well, for Tara it is was a way to save her dad’s dying company. The other is Lanni her sister who feels that she is past the age for any true romance. Well, the girls enter a cave finding themselves falling down thru the shifting sand in the tunnel.

Well, they certainly did find themselves in a whole different world for sure. Terra thought for sure it was a last minute fantasy gift that her sister bought her before she got married. Lanni told her no. The girls find that they were indeed thrown into an adventure that they were not too happy about at first. But, as it proceeded for one reason or another they could not help thinking that they seem to know they were supposed to be here. Meeting the King as they entered the strange world. How dare Terra be so drawn to the King Draven? King Draven in all words is one hot king! Well described. Though I did not feel that the cover truly portrayed him. Then Lanni found herself also falling for Aaron, Draven’s right hand man. Well, the girls soon find out they are not quite as human as they thought. Each man also are drawn to these girls. But, why? The girls find trouble constantly. First, with the bad man that needs these 2 girls! Why was it so important that he have both girls? Well, it is a fantasy filled with magic. This story is filled with a lot of fun, danger and not so fun characters that it all balances well for the story to work the way it does. This series is meant for ADULT reading. There are some spicy wording throughout the book with not sex scenes but the impromptu of wanting it by Draven and Aaron for the girls. So just be warned.

I did at one point find myself a tad confused when they use other names for the girls. Happened when Draven and Aaron spoke of the girls by these other names. But, I did finally catch on. So it was not a truly a deal breaker to stop listening to this audio.

I felt this book was a bit of Eragon, a dash of Deborah Harkness’s All Soul’s Series, and a dash of Terah Edun, Crown Series.

All I can say is that this other world is one fantasy I did not want to stop listening to. Knowing that this is the first in the series of books did not stop me from listening to this book! Not that I did not know that this was not a stand-alone book. I was not happy with the abrupt ending. I know there was some unhappy reviews to this fact. However, if they read the reviews they would have seen this. Don’t let this sway you from not reading this series. It is not like there is not another book readily available for you not to continue. It also is not like that oh she is describing a book I read already. No it has its own unique qualities that you will enjoy as much as I did. However, as far as the audio version there is only one so far. Though you can still dive into the next book! I just wish it ended a bit more fulfilling.

Now the narrator, Fred Wolinsky. His performance was first class. I felt the way he portrayed each characters voice was so believable. The girls were okay voices but it is no different if this was a female narrator doing male voices. The not so human characters he gave each of them amusing voices. I really hope that Fred continues the series of this book! Nothing is more disappointing when a new narrator starts a new book. Takes a bit to either to get use to or I just don’t finish listening to the series.

This audio was provided to me by the narrator and in no way was I influenced. The review above is solely my opinion of not only the book but the narration of it. I always welcome comments and if my review was helpful or not in you listening to this book please let me know.

Twin sisters Terra and Lanni Heegan go caving in the wilds of Wyoming. For Terra, it is her last hurrah before entering into a loveless marriage. However, things take a turn pretty quickly and soon they are swept up in another world where shifters and chimeras rule. They will each face numerous foes, and perhaps even find a mate.

Draven is a shifter and lord of the land. He is use to being obeyed and his every word taken seriously. That is, until he is presented with two examples of the mythical being known as human. Terra is pretty sure Lanni has set this up. Perhaps it is with actors. Perhaps it is one of those all submersive vids that you can buy. Maybe even a dose of mushrooms. So when she doesn’t take Draven seriously, things go awry. He has to shift into his dragon form to save her from a nasty fall. Unfortunately. Draven’s guards take Terra’s actions as an act of aggression and she and Lanni are tossed in a dungeon, only to be rescued by an unlikely being.

The action picks up really quickly and Terra and Lanni, neither of the shrinking violet variety, do their best to hold their own. Periodically, they are being rescued. Sometimes they do the saving. Draven and his wing man (Arin) make a good duo for the twins to alternately argue with and fight evil side by side. The world building is full of fantastical creatures, such as talking animals, all sorts of chimeras, the shifters, and magical creatures who don’t appear to do any shifting (like the unicorns and rhocs). Arin is a bit of an outcast as he is part of a small group of beings that are never fully human, always retaining some traits of what they shift into. So I pictured him as looking a little like the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, but more disgruntled and trimmer, being the war commander he is.

While Terra is a bit more kick ass than Lanni, they both contribute to the plot and are not simply there as romantic interests. They do tend to do more thinking than the men, but this is required by someone if they are to outwit their foes. And the foes are many, with several of them hidden.

My one quibble is that Lanni becomes a trauma medic without having had any hands on training or experience, but just from having read a medical book or two. At one point, a character is injured, passes out, and Lanni stitches this character up. That’s fine. Lots of people can do stitches in a pinch. Once the character wakes, she goes on to say how they must have had some internal bleeding. Uh… well, if that is the case then it is pure luck they didn’t die and that the bleeding either stopped on it’s own, or slowed enough to leave the injured stable until a real medic could be called.

The romance is a light thread that carries throughout the book. For some of the characters, the connection is made really swift, and others it takes a while. It did not detract from the plot and in certain instances, added to it. There’s also a touch of modern and just over the horizon tech. I liked how this was done lightly, so that we could stay focused on the characters and the plot and not get hung up on whether this was fantasy or science fiction. The ending left us on a very dramatic note (which I liked) and then a bit of a cliffhanger. So be ready to jump right into Book 2 because there is plenty of plot left to unfold and resolve!

The Narration: Fred Wolinsky did a good job with all the character voices. I especially liked his slightly furry voice for Aaron (and since he has whiskers and a kind of leonine face it totally fit). His female voices were believable and he had a range that allowed for distinct characters. There was a true challenge in doing voices for Terra and Lanni (who are twins) and yet making them distinct for the listener and he met that challenge with excellence.

Wowzer wow wow is what I got to say right off the gate here. This is the first time reading this author for me also. The cover and the title are what caught my eyes right off the bat so do love a good dragon novel. As I open the book right away I am carried away on a adventure I will none to soon forget. Two sisters exploring during a age and time when everyone is has gone lazy and electronic getting their kicks and stimuli artificially. Not Terra and Lanni they explore the old fashioned way physically themselves on there way to a cave marked on a map. One last hurrah before Terra does her duty to the family and marries for not herself and love. Lanni is her twin and she considers herself the goof up of the two. This author really knows how to bring these characters to life and right away you like them and are on their adventure with them. but do things go according to plan oh no my friend something or someone awaits them that will change their lives forever. So as I am reading and caught up with them it is as I am right there with them when they enter somewhere else that is no longer familiar with none other than a dragon. Sarcastic humor is also the order of the day in this novel as you go along which is right up my alley. She will have you in a place that will have many species co existing together just like real time with many nationalities. Oh have I wanted a novel such as this and have thought some one really needs to right one where there are many and not just a few. To say the least though the descriptions will have you salivating because she will introduce some men of the species that will if face to face take your breath away with wanting. I know I already want one and he is the king no less-Draven and he is a dragon. This is not all fluff either it is filled with adventure that will raise your hair. It is filled with treachery that will have you nashing your teeth and wanting to punch the culprit. It also has love the kind you hope and wish for the kind that will be no less that comes with finding your mate. It is not to be a easy road for the ones that love either. Evil and magic are also the order of the day-ha sounds like real time again. The story line flow will have you swept away and not let you go till you reach the very end. This is certainly like no other I have read which for me a long time reader is like- EUREKA GOLD IN THIS THERE BOOK- Ah the world and adventure that awaits will not end here either because this author and her talent will leave you breathlessly awaiting the next installment which for my sake I hope will be soon very soon. Anyone got any extra snacks while I wait? Received a copy for a honest review.

Favorite Lines “Her entire body blazed with the same heat she’d felt on the roof.
Draven was here!”

“I did not. It happened because you are my mate…”

“You are me, I am you. We are one, Kyleri.”

“But of course. Worry not. All you foretold has come to pass, Mother. Soon, we will rule the Five Kingdoms with no one the wiser for our involvement.”

Holy cliff hanger! I still loved it though!
Imagine nicking with your sister and deciding to go explore some caves and then you walk right into a fantasy! Filled with Dragons, Harpies, Satyrs, Chimera, Unicorns, and many more!!
Terra and Lanni are twins that are part of what you could call a prophecy. One of them is the mate to the Dragon Draven. He took one look at her and new she was his mate. She called his dragon fire. This book is action packed. Never a dull page. Draven is being attacked by the evil Golix, he's crazy and power hungry! He cause so much destruction and heartache.
If you want an action packed romance with fantasy twisted right in then this is the book for you! I will be keeping a close eye on this author,

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review

Twisty and loads of fun!

Although the griffons were bad (boo lol) it was still a great book that started right away with adventure and excitement. I was very impressed with this book, it took several turns that I was so NOT expecting but I’m so glad I received this ARC! I picked it up in the morning around 11 AM and couldn’t put it down until about 8 at night! There were a few bad points but all in all it’s a great book with just a few slow moments that were needed to build back history.

If you grab this book expect to be surprised! I can’t wait for the next book so I can figure out what happens next!

This was much more than a magical escape of storytelling. Margaret Taylor built a whole new world where you must leave your perceived notions on the fantasy world at the door. Characters that will light your fire and a cliff hanger of sorts to have you begging her to know what she is going to do about it. And I am telling you I am all over it she has my book boyfriend in all sorts of troubles. The story was extremely well written and flowed smoothly. I can't wait for the next installment to be complete.

Loved this book. What an epic adventure. I could see this book as a movie, in my mind it was amazing. I had moments that I thought this story was going in one direction and the author would take it another way. Two romances in one book, loved it. Both have their ups and downs but the passion was good even though they didn't consummate, which is fine, it was still awesome. I really hope their is a next for this story, I can't wait to read it.

2.5 stars. I really thought I was going to love this book - I wanted to love it, but it just didn't do it for me. The plot sounded great and the characters interesting but things didn't seem to flow for me. To make matters worse it ended with a cliffhanger!

I have to admit to having "To Light The Dragon's Fire" by Margaret Taylor for months now ans somehow never got around to reading it.I had been drawn in from her teasers at Facebook events and the beautiful covers on her books and was interested in the shifters already. I had the pleasure of meeting Margaret Taylor in person recently at a Book Rave, and I decided then and there I would make sure I read at least one of her books before years end.
No regrets here, this is an incredibly awesome book that draws you in from the first page. I thought it might be a shifter erotica, but was pleased to find an exciting, fast paced, drama filled journey unfolding before me that had more to do with relationships, romance, and politics in a fantasy world. This book deals with Draven, a Dragon shifter, twin human sisters: Terra and Lanni, Arin a Neither-Born, a very bad Unicorn shifter, and a whole slew of other shifter and magical creatures!

I highly recommend this series if you're looking for a great story, strong characters, and some romance.
This is a cliffhanger book but now I can't wait to read the next one "To Save The Broken Heart". Luckily most if not all of the series is already out.

WOW, just WOW!!! This book is a totally amazing ride. Starting with twins Terra and Lanni exploring in a cave and ending up in a world with all sorts of shifters. Not just your average shifter like werewolves and werepanthers. Nooo, these are mythical beings like pegasus, Ogres, dragons and many more. There are so many twists and turns you will not be able to put this book down. There is Draven, the reluctant King who is a dragon and his best friend Arin, who is a beautiful Chimera. The evil one is a creature that you would NEVER think of as evil. Back in their world Terra is to marry a man to help save the family farm. In this new world she is in love with Draven and is destined to be his mate. She must choose between love and helping her family. What will she choose? Ms. Taylor weaves an amazing tale. Her descriptions of characters are spot on and the places she brings you do just that. You are catepulted into this new world right along with Terra and Lanni. Personally, I Highly recommend that you should get this book and come along for the ride. I can't wait for Book two.

Lit more than just the Dragon fire!! 5 stars

I read this book pretty quick because it was so great I couldn’t put it down! This is such a fantastic story that I find it hard to find the words to describe it without saying too much! There are any and all types of fantasy critters in this book – dragons, rocs, ogres, orcs, merfolk, and more! What I like the most is how this is all original. Margaret takes these fantasy creatures and gives them all new personalities and places in the world that she has created with this series. She did not take these magical creatures and have them stay as their “original” character mold or class, but made them her own. Terrific job I must say! It is really hard to predict who was good, bad, in the middle, who you should root for, etc. I love that in a book!!!! Very worth the read, but don’t just take my word for it – one-click away and read it for yourself!

This story is pure fantasy, with dragons, evil unicorns, griffons, orcs, ogres, chimeras, beautiful twins and magic.

Terra & Lanni go rock climbing, find a cave, come across a dragon, are taken to their capital city where Terra meets the Dragon King, Draven.

But the evil unicorn, Golix, saw a prophecy long ago about Draven meeting his Queen and has been working for centuries to change the outcome.

Typical fantasy plot of misdirection, deaths that aren't actual deaths, regicide plots and traitorous friends and pirates.

Now I have to keep reading to find out what happens as this ends on a cliffhanger.

This book is excellent. If you love shifter books or even if you have never read one before this book will have you reading more of them! I laughed, cried, smiled and in the end was wanting more! This book is about true love, finding oneself, and evil plans that are trying to tear the people who are meant to be together apart just for selfish reason.... to rule the kingdoms.... Trust me this book is a must read for everyone!

Interesting world, full of mystical creatures and magic. I liked how both heroins Terra and Lanni where mot acting like damsels in distress at all but more like badasses taking charge. However, a bit disappointed in Terra and Draven's relationship which is pretty much inexistent apart from them being true mate... No development here whereas Lanni and Arin's was very sweet and all the more tragic with the spell. I am very curious about the next book, hope it comes soon.

How To Light the Dragon’s Fire?

With a Touch.

Terra and her twin sister, Lanni, are going on one last exploration before Terra gets married. Terra loves to rock climb and since Lanni won’t let her go alone, off they go to the mountains together. While climbing Terra discovers a cave and goes in, Lanni follows. They don’t see the dark tunnel leading downward as they accidentally slide through it.

The two women come out into another world or another dimension? Captured, they are taken to the King, who happens to be a real Dragon King when not in humanoid form. Terra is a very outspoken woman and demands answers and wants to know how to get back home. King Draven has other thoughts since he had an immediate attraction to Terra. This is not something he thought would ever happen.

His best friend and adviser is Arin, a Chimera. Lanni is attracted to him although, he likes her he does not feel he is good enough. More surprises in store to keep you guessing and turning pages.

I like the strong male and female leads in this series. They set each other off so well. Their banter and chemistry spark. Characters are well developed and all have a strong drive to survive. There is a lot of magic in this world and many different fantasy creatures that can change to humanoid when they want. I liked the twist that had a Black Unicorn as the villain. He also has plans for the two women, if he can get them away from King Dravon.

I was not real happy with the reader, Fred Wolinski. His voices left a lot to be desired. Some were actually funny. His voice for Draven was too high. Everyone assumes that a huge powerful Dragon has a deep and powerful voice. I didn’t like the female voices either. They sounded too fake, high and silly. He does do a good evil witch though.

With that said I did like the book very much and will probably get the kindle version for the rest of the series. The plot is different and there are a lot of subplots. Unexpected twists and new characters give it added excitement and tension.
I highly recommend this book as the first book is action-packed and edge of your seat reading. This is a read that will capture your attention and won’t let you go.

There were no audio issues with the production. The audio was clear.

Awesome combination that worked out perfectly. Magic, intrigue, fantastical creatures, love, and so much more. Terra drags her sister Lanni along for her last pre-marriage fun trip. Nolan, her fiancée is as far from loving adventure that Terra could ever pick. But as her family company is in need of financial assistance and Nolan's family has money to spare, her feelings and the fact that she doesn't love him are completely irrelevant. Terra and Lanni are rock climbing, the last real experience in their life of technology. They make it to a ledge and find it's an entrance of a cave. Lanni isn't to keen on exploring, but Terra tells her that they will turn back if it gets too tight. They stumble along and end up falling only to find they have fallen onto a dragon...a real live dragon. Before they can get away, he grabs them and takes them.. somewhere. The city resembles theirs, but the people not so much. They are dropped at the feet of the King, the Dragon King to be exact. Terra feels this is all a setup by her sister until she goes to touch the king and his shield shocks her, right off the balcony. He felt some kind of connection when he looked into her eyes and without thought dove after her and changed into his other form. He saves her from the fall but injures himself and is unable to keep Terra and Lanni from being carted off to the dungeon for touching the King. By the time he wakes, they are gone. No one was supposed to know they were there. Now King Draven and his war advisor Arin as well as the human girls to figure out what's going on and who is behind it.

REVIEW
This is a new to me author.

I am an avid dragon shifter book lover and I will say this book gives you so much more than dragon shifters. There are many paranormal beings.

We have twin sisters Terra and Lanni whom at first I thought were human but well as the story progressed I was not sure of that. And as far as twin’s go they couldn’t be more different from each other.

And we have the Dragon King Draven who must find a red haired human beauty to fulfill the last thing on the list for all evil to be fulfilled although I am not sure what that means. And I couldn’t figure out which sister he should be with either.

The writing is good although for me it was all over the place one world to the next and I found I lost track of things quickly. With that said it was a great fantasy read and there was a lot of action and suspense involved. I don’t know if there are too many paranormal beings perhaps but something just didn’t click with me in a few spots. But perhaps Book 2 will enlighten me more. Because I saw greatness trying to come through.

Dragons, Unicorns, Goblins, Griffons, Harpies (and more) oh my! Sounded interesting and it was free!
Terra (one of the twins, her sister Lannie played a prominent role too) is all down on herself and has no hope of ever finding true love, blah, blah, blah (feel sorry for her yet?). So, she's going to martyr herself for the sake of her family and marry for money.
At least that was what she was planning, until kidnapped by a dragon. The instant attraction: Terra: "The air stuck in her lungs and her heart stopped dead in her chest." Draven: "His three hearts seized roughly, each catching on a beat and staining to start up again." Oh and I can't leave out that Draven, "...slept with HUNDREDS of females in just about every type known, but no one had ever lit his Dragon Fire." Oh yes, Terra is DIFFERENT. I. Get. It.
I just didn't care much for this one. The cliffhanger was the nail on the coffin for me. My 3 stars (generous, I thought) got knocked down to a 2. I'll put up with cliffhangers in books/authors I adore, but generally find them annoying as hell. (Done with rant).
On the positive, both Terra and Lannie were decent characters who were smart and didn't need saving.

Where the heck did this book come from!? Epic 4.5 Stars!

I read this on a whim and because of the description ended up thinking one more book about a self sacrificing female h and Dominating H...Which hello I love but I've also read a lot of. I ended up in a saga...This world That Ms Taylor created completely snuck up on me. This is not a story of a paranormal human love, this is a fantasy story about a different world that two women stumble upon while seeking adventure...And so they find it!

I felt like this truly was a fantastic world and while the romance is there this was not a erotic part, Hoping for the next book ;-)
Twin sisters Terra and Lanni discover a world where humans don't exist and find themselves in the middle of a battle for power. Good Vs Evil. Both are discovering what made them in the human world makes them stand out here and that they have their own secrets to discover. AS well as their love for each other, they both find a potential mate...If they can escape the evil that know of them and wants them dead.

I liked the world building and was captivated by the characters. I cant wait to continue the journey.

I wonder if I've read the same "book" as all the people who've given this 5 stars.

First of all, this is not a complete novel (the story is unfinished and has no closure), but part 1 of a serialization - if I'd known this before, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Second, this seriously needs an editor or at least a good proof-reader. There orthographic mistakes galore ("something he wasn't privy too", "she pulled up on Dinsa's reigns"), commas where they don't belong ("Is, that a dinosaur?", "I am not, a dinosaur", "We count our, year", "She was, human."), and the difference between plural s and second case 's is obviously unknown ("the 4th Prides Alpha", "the science and math arena's", "Are these holiday's in your world?", "One of the Satyr's hopped forward", "My families security").

The writing was ok, the story kind of your average fell-down-the-rabbithole alternative fantasy world. What made it more interesting was that the inhabitants of said fantasy world had previous knowledge of the human world and incorporated some technology and fashion (?) into their world.

So, 5 stars for the cover illu, 1 star for the writing, another author on my no-buy list.

I was honestly surprised that I liked this as much as I did. Where to begin though...?

Terra and Lanni Heggan - twin sisters off on their last little outing before settling down in their own respective lives. Like most twins, these two have their own special connection and are unlike other people in a world of cybertronics and futuristic laziness. The book opens with them on a rock climbing adventure, after all.

They find themselves accidentally stumbling through a cave into a mystical world with dragons, griffons, and other creatures but instead of the usual medieval setting of a fantasy novel - these creatures live in a very modern setting, much like the world we know today, but with a few magical tweaks.

Of course, each sister gets her own love interest - and the nice thing was that equal time and energy was devoted to them and their respective situations. One thing I often notice in books that focus on the adventures of two or more people is that one is always favored while the others become a side note. Not so in To Light The Dragon's Fire and I'm actually looking forward to checking out the next in this series.

I was a little hesitant when I first decided to read this book because the description of it had me wondering wether it would be a hard to follow book or one that would jump around. It had talked about the main characters going back in time but escaping and being followed and blah blah. Well I'm certainly glad I gave it a chance because that review WAS SO wrong. Well in a small way it was correct the main character does indeed go back in time, but that's all that was correct. The book was very easy to follow and captured your imagination right from the beginning. The writer did a good job of describing the fantasy world type creatures without going to far. The story devoured you into another world and time and you would feel yourself on the boat or the dark bone filled pit. The story was definitely an adventure fantasy with romance thrown in. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a little something different or for someone who enjoys Dragon books. Very well written can't wait for the next book.
