Lessons Learned in Combat: Normandy Paratroopers

Rate this book
A collection of personal experience papers written by parachute officers only a few years after WW2 dealing with their experiences in the Normandy invasion, and the lessons that they learned. Annotated with footnotes by the editor pointing out interesting facts and clarifying certain aspects of the text. Includes color maps drawn by the officers themselves. Split into both an 82nd and 101st section, this book also includes additional information and after action reports on the divisions, as well as sections from the Air Force History on the preparation for the invasion, and on the glider and resupply operations. The second volume in the "Lessons Learned" series. Please note that this is not an overview on the invasion, but designed for serious students of the war.
