At age thirty, Riot Luv is an outgoing, career driven woman who believes full figured girls make the world go around. She’s a school-based nurse, who prides herself on providing the best medical and mental support to every student she encounters, but when she clocks out, her nurse hat isn’t the only thing that comes off. Riot spends her nights setting the stage ablaze at Club Vex as a burlesque dancer, and her days trying to untangle her feelings for Principal Angles. That is, until he has to step in during her time of need.
She was more than a woman…
Thirty-six-year-old Khaleel Angles is principal at Walton Smith Elementary school. He’s known for being all about the kids but has found himself being all about their mamas too. After fighting cases surrounding his dealings with parents, and battling with sex addiction, he vows to keep his hands, and mouth, to himself. But Nurse Riot makes it exceedingly difficult to stick to his word.
They get further acquainted and love blossoms, turning “Steady Love” into the soundtrack of their budding romance. Abruptly, a case of stalking and long-term amnesia challenges their novel courtship, creating a looming sense of danger. Riot and Khaleel start to see one another in a new light as they navigate trespassers trekking into their lives. When past secrets, lust, and jealousy mingle, the road to forever seems muddled. Can Riot and Khaleel see through the chaos and fight for a new path?
This book had alot of twist turns.I appreciate the suspense in the book. Overall good read. This book is a pick for our book club and I look forward to discussing the read.
What the hell did I just read. Talk about twisted. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around this. I swear I saw something like this on an episode of law and order SVU once.
Wynta! Come on & meet me outside cause wtf?!?! 🤬 You won’t know what twist is coming til you in the curve. It was a fun mystery to try to solve i recommend you read it with friends & have a 2 minute pow wow after every second chapter to make it fun!!! I do love Khaleel & Riot love story & the way she dealt with his addiction it’s commendable! The webs that were weaved!!! Just read the book!
Unhinged is not the word for this book…while the story was CRAZY and kept me interested, the writing and grammatical errors were horrible for me. It’s detracted a lot from the story because the way my mind works, I have to repeat the sentence correctly each time it’s said wrong lol.
Dang this book def started off with my jaw on the floor, like to give me a stalker off bat is wild and the fact that she did what she did damn. then time jump to our girl Riot who is nurse letting the principal diddle her ittle bittal was crazy but honestly you had me at 6 fucking feet tall. Def knew that she was kitty cat, i like that she has a different side of her from her day job def makes for a spicy good time. I was taken aback with the incident of her thinking she was getting herself off and not saying something to her fam about her unease is just not smart. this dude Rasheed is a fuck nigga for sure. How the hell you hit on ur ex girl bestfriend. Literally all up in her space, like the fuck but that is literally making me think Rasheed one of the stalker? possibilities! like is he The dude that she was with a year prior to her incident and is he the one that is assulting her at night?? Someone needs to unalive his ass cause he is the ninja that is at fault for what happened to her....he got to be?? It’s 1:53 AM, and I just finished this book and whew, I have thoughts. 3.75 stars.
This was like a spicy, over-the-top, plot-twisting, Lifetime movie you know is wild but you still can’t stop watching. You know it’s not going to be a literary masterpiece, but it’s so addicting that you absolutely need to know what’s going to happen next. Even when things went completely off the rails (and trust me, they did), I stayed locked in. Because seriously how did Wynta sit down and say, “Let me write this”?
The male main character? Sex addict. Like… medically diagnosed. Seven times a day if he can get it. Five if she’s on her cycle. Diabolical. That is crazy work. Respectfully, I would love for a man to be that obsessed with me, but at some point… girlie down there needs to breathe. You need the full 24 hours for that kind of energy.
The female main character? This girl cannot catch a break. There are multiple people out here trying to take her out or ruin her life. Why is everyone obsessed with you? I need to see a sketch of what she looks like, because this level of attention was wild.
We had two, maybe three, full-blown psychopaths roaming around, stalking them, and bringing complete chaos and I loved it. I was annoyed, shocked, a little grossed out, and still turning pages (well, tapping through the audiobook) like my life depended on it.
The spice? All over the map. Some scenes had me cringing, others had me taking notes (don’t judge me). The book was messy, chaotic, over-the-top, and so bingeable. I wouldn’t say I’ll read everything Wynta writes, because some scenes were a little too wild for my comfort, but her writing style is so engaging that I definitely plan to try more.
Chile! This book read like a movie! Every time you turned around, something was happening and I was trying to put the pieces together. There were so many pieces to the puzzle. It was quite enthralling to read!
Riot was in a happy relationship with her lover, but jealousy from an outsider landed her in harms way and she endured a traumatic experience that left her with long-lasting memory loss. Years later, she's doing well, has learned to protect herself through MMA fighting courtesy of her brother, and she's crushing on the principal of the school she works at as a nurse. The feeling is mutual, and as they begin a life together, past enemies return to wreak havoc not only on their relationship, but also their lives. Both of them are targeted with threats and work together to figure out who's behind them. The enemies are closer than they think! There were a few editing issues, but not enough to ruin the reading experience.
This book certainly took me on a wild ride. The twists and turns in the book were surprising and filled with danger and drama. Khaleel and Riot's relationship was definitely steamy from the beginning, but it soon turned dangerous for them. Outside forces were wreaking havoc in the background, but I'm glad that they were able to overcome the obstacles that these sick and wicked individuals were trying to cause and let love prevail. I also loved Riot and Marlay's relationship. They were best friends, but they had a sisterly bond and looked out for one another. I was glad that she was able to get her happily ever after as well. All I could think while reading this book was, "I didn't see that coming." If you enjoy reading books that have you on the edge of your seat, you need to pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.
I really liked Khaleel and Riot together but alot of the other stuff in the book I felt was bullshit. For Naomi small stature to be dragging big ass men around and kidnapping them seemed very far fetch. I'm 5'11 and small by no means and I couldn't drag no grown ass men no where. And the thing with the mom. She really had to be fucking Martha along with her husband? All the sexual abuse was too much for this story. And we really didn't need stalker 1 and 2 because you knew it was Tez and Naomi right away.
This book kept me on my toes. If you love mysteries and conspiracies, this will definitely keep you engaged! Those stalkers were just evil! Khaleel & Riot were made for each other, and I liked their openess to one another. Sex addiction is real, and I really enjoyed how it was addressed in the book! Family dynamics definitely played a role in who Riotand Khaleel were as adults. I enjoyed the epilogue as well.
Talk about a twisted read. This book was full of wickedness and touched on a lot: incest, sex addiction, threesomes, stalking and murder. It kept me interested and wondering what would happen next. Loved the ending though.
This book had so many twists and turns. It started out wild, slowed just a little then picked up and I couldn’t put it down. I love when a black woman is loved properly and the thriller elements were also chef’s kiss.
I was not expecting the twist. It gave me urban thriller and I love that. First book I’ve read from the author, so I’m very excited to dive into the catalog. Definitely a great read.
This story had me feeling so many different emotions I didn’t know if I wanted to stop or keep going. The obsession the characters had was crazy to say the least. Look forward to reading more from this author.
Whew that was a ride! The way this thing unfolded had me shaking my head with my mouth dropped. It was so good. I loved the ending and how it all played out. Definitely recommend.
This books was neat. It was crazy to read the little turns and twist that happened throughout. In the end I'm glad that Riot and Khaleel got their happy ending... that heffa Naomi got was coming to her too
I have never read anything like this story in my life! The plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat. I had to put the kindle down for a few seconds and reread a paragraph or two. Wynta girl, your imagination is…wild! My mind is blown. Read it don’t read it, whew chile!
This story’s definitely a page turner, with all the stalking and craziness going on with Riot, her man Khaleel was battling an illness. But I’m glad everything worked out in the end and they found happiness within each other.
I can’t even rate this forreal, this was a wild ride and in the worse way possible I’m sorry this whole thing was kinda sick and depraved with no real purpose or point.
OMG…. This audiobook was 🔥🔥🔥. The story was Crazy as hell but awesome ❤️❤️❤️. Great job Wynta Tyne ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Definitely a story to share. Narrators did a Great job.
Whewww, this book had me clutching my invisible pearls and whispering “Now what is goin’ on here?!” from start to finish. It was giving danger, drama, and some deep, dark twists that had me stuck to the page like glue.
Khaleel and Riot? Baby…they started off hot and heavy, but it didn’t take long before things got real complicated. Their chemistry was crazy, but so was the chaos surrounding them. Folks in the shadows were moving foul—slick, sick, and out for blood. But what I loved? They pushed through it all. Love still found a way, even when the odds were stacked ugly.
Now let’s talk about Riot and Marlay—that bond right there? More than besties, they were like real sisters. Always riding for each other, always ten toes down. And yes, Marlay got her happy ending too, because period.
Every time I thought I had this story figured out? Boom—plot twist. Had me side-eyeing everybody and asking, “Who sent you?”
If you’re into high-stakes love, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and a story dipped in culture with a touch of hood fairy tale magic—this one’s for you. Trust, you won’t regret it. And let me just say—Wynta Tyme got me in a chokehold! I'm officially a forever fan! The way she spins a story? Pure magic with a side of menace. I’m slowly but surely working my way through her whole catalog like the loyal reader I am, because baybeee—she does not miss!
