She brings his life into focus. She knows his secrets. She’s the girl he can’t forget, and the one thing he craves more than his addiction.

This is a unique twist on good girl/bad boy love story as M. Leighton brings two characters from opposite lifestyles, a rising rock star and a lonely social worker, who enter into a relationship of sorts based solely on pure lies. Under the assumption of being sex addicts, they embark on a "supportive" friendly journey all in the hopes to get close to one another. Jet Blevins wants Violet Wilson like no other and he plays dirty to get her. You may think that is bad, but this "good girl" is no better when it comes down to the web of deceit she has spun toward him.

I finished this awhile ago and I sat pondering my review for a few hours...WHY? Well at first I didn't know if this worked for me. I truly dislike lies and miscommunication in story lines and believe me there is a whole lotta deceit going on up in this one...you know that "gonna bite you in the ass later feeling?" Also I found myself really annoyed with Ms. Violet Wilson and her "save the world" attitude.

So 5 star you say...HUH? Well, this story just got to me! Perhaps Violet and her need to save people and her constant willingness to help regardless of her own feelings hit a bit close to home! I completely identified with her need to "fix" things and the constant slight to herself. She never had fun, never "lived" for herself...hell she even came across as a complete uppity bitch just to stop the chance that she could actually need something or someone. It is Jet that has her questioning her current self and wandering what she is really holding on to!

Also, I loved everything about Jet Blevins from his deep blue eyes to his tortured bad boy image. too had needs, only the assistance he wanted from Violet was so much more than he bargained for. What may have started under false pretenses as a game for Jet was quickly becoming a truth in his mind and heart that he could not stop.

Page after page I felt the development of a friendship, a support system, and true emotions of both lust and respect.

I loved how Jet and Violet called each other out and how they communicated their feelings openly in a situation built by lies. I will say that when the time finally arrived for Jet and Violet to let down the walls..my kindle melted!

DEAR LORD...if I didn't love Jet for his sassy rocker wannabe self before, this man's smart mouth in the bedroom got the job done! Even though I was Convinced that M. Leighton was trying to kill me with sexual tension, I can say that it was worth the wait! Thank you for giving Trick some competition...Jet Blevins....

4.5 Addicting Stars

I’m starting to really like this series. Each Wild book gets better and better.

Summary

Violet’s best friend is a sex addict and Violet is always known to help people. Violet goes to the sex addict meetings with her best friend for support. At her first meeting she meets Jet. Jet is sexy rocker, lead singer for a band and is capital T, Trouble.

Review

I really liked this book because how easy going it was to read it and I really liked the plot. I was hooked within the first chapter and I found it funny that Violet pretends to be a sex addict to support her best friend.

Violet

Violet is a helper. She has an alcoholic father who frequently needs Violet to pick him up at bars and take care of him. Violet is always there for her best friend especially when her friends over drinks and needs someone to watch her. Violet doesn’t want to be addicted to anything, so she doesn’t really go out, drink or have any fun, unless she is forced to.

I liked Violet and you would think she would be taken advantage a lot in the book, but she wasn’t. I liked her because her character was nice, sweet and always loyal. She, to me, was a strong character and a Heroine I liked to read.

Jet

Jet is your typical rocker. He loves to play music and bang women. Since he’s semi-famous, he has his pick of the litter. Now, he wants to avoid sleeping with random women. His mom won’t let Jet see his brothers until he cleans up his act and Jet works hard to be the up standing guy he needs to be. Violet isn’t the typical girl Jet is use to dating. She’s very innocent and he doesn’t want to taint her, but he’s very drawn to her. So Jet asks Violet to be his sponsor.

Overall

The story isn’t based on Violet’s lie. Sure she attends a sex addicts meetings, but that’s not really the plot. The plot is Jet and Violet getting to know each other. As Violet sponsor’s Jet, she attends functions with him to keep him in check. Jet keeps his attention on Violet, but other girls can’t help but throw themselves at Jet. It was very entertaining to read these scenes and it was kind of funny seeing Violet become a little jealous.

I felt like there was good character development and the pace was nice. There is some tension because Violet needs to deal with her over helpful personality and Jet needs to deal with his sexual ways. There was a good balance of sexual tension and banter to keep me going.

Overall, it was a pleasant read, very cute and entertaining.

This book doesn't even begin to only be rated by 5 stars...5 stars?? More like 10 stars or 100 stars...
But that doesn't really even matter when this book is probably my top read this year...
Just pure brilliance...*sighs*
I will collect my thoughts and give you a full review soon...

FULL REVIEW:
HOLY FREAKIN MOLY!!!! M. Leighton has rocked my world with her latest installment in the Wild Ones series. Each book has introduced us to new and amazing characters that have easily captured our hearts.
So, now we get to meet the spunky Violet, who has a huge heart of gold. She is freakishly loyal and will go above and beyond to help a friend in need. So much so that this is what sparks the interaction of her and the fabulously HOT Jet...
When Violet first meets Jet, M. Leighton shows her brilliance in detailing the interchange of these two by bringing the reader in and connecting you to their lives. You fall in to Jet's gorgeous blue eyes right along with Violet, feeling that spark of chemistry, electrifying the area around them.
Needless to say, the story showcases the marvelous writing talent that M. Leighton has. Being able to seize the reader's attention, draw them in to the scenes, captivate them with the emotional stresses of the beautiful romance unfolding on these pages.
There's Wild then There's You is a fantastical tale encased with humor, angst, passion, heart-ache and revelations. I loved every single moment and hated to see it end. I was head over heels in love with Jet and was holding my breath when the story took a turn for the worst. I was shaking my head in disbelief, angry that it happened and just over all depressed.
But, true to the romance, M. Leighton brings our characters from point A to point Z. What good is a book if the characters didn't grow and discover themselves throughout this riveting journey that we get to hitch a ride on with them??

*sighs* Yes, I miss these characters so much...I saw many things of myself in Violet and no matter how strong she is, she still has her weaknesses...Don't you want to find out what they are???
I bet you do...And I bet you want to know more about Jet too...If you love a guy that finds himself in the music that he sings and writes, then you will want to meet Jet...This man is beyond perfection...Sexy barely describes how delicious he is...Putty in his hands is all you will ever be, because this man will totally annihilate your self control...

If you do anything today...Make sure you pick up this book and find out just how ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKINGLY ASTOUNDING it is....

Meh, I didn't like this. Definitely least favorite in what has been a solid 3.5 star series thus far.

The whole story just seemed off. Violet is a social worker who basically has no one in her life that is stable. She is constantly helping those around her and neglecting herself in the meantime.

She is helping her "sex addict" BFF Tia, and meets Jet at a SAA meeting. It was like insta-lust from the start. Jet is your stereo-typical rocker slut. So Violet wants to help Jet, Jet wants to hump Violet and somewhere along the line I just got bored. Real bored.

description
It was just all so far fetched. And then it gets even more complicated as they are both big fat liars too.

So yeah, umm that pretty much sums it up...

Skimmed the rest, yada yada, didn't like it.

There is no other author that can make me feel as indecisive and fickle as M. Leighton can. Every book, every time, I always finish saying that it's my favorite and the best she has ever written. But it's true. Her writing style is the same. The reason I buy her books without even reading the back is that I know there's always going to be a happy ever after, and her characters are always relatable. But with each book she writes, she reaches a new depth and complexity that keeps you coming back for more. You want to see what she's going to come up with next. This one is no different.

Violet is a fixer. She tries to fix everything and everyone, but she doesn't want to pin all her hopes and dreams on one person and give them the power to wreck her like her mother did her father. I love that she doesn't believe anyone is beyond help, and she is determined to help Jet, just from a distance. While Jet is handsome and charismatic, she sees that he is just a guy, that he is human like the rest of us. He's surrounded by alcohol, and his drugs of choice are women and music. He's not happy with who he is, and is trying to find a way to be a better person. Even he sees that Violet can help him. He didn't know what his type of girl was until he met Violet, but seeing that they met under false pretenses, they have to find a way to work through those lies to who they really are and what they really want. Everything about their story is gripping, and it has a hold of you through the entire book.

I stuck so many post-it notes in this book that I had to run to the store for more about half way through. They were so many remarkable parts that some pages got 2 - 3 notes each. It's witty and playful, and I love the banter between Violet and Jethro (that name makes him so human!! It could not have been better!!), they just seem to have this ease between them that is enviable.

Violet is my girl. If any character Michelle has written has ever been relatable, it's Violet. You want her as your best friend, sister, any way you could have her, you want a Violet in your life. There's not one thing I don't like about her. I love them both, but for me, she's the exceptional part of the story.

Some of the things I love:

Tia. Dear God, I don't think I could handle a friend like her, but she's a RIOT!! Some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth is priceless!!

I love that Violet reads to escape. Just like the rest of us, reading is her drug.

I love her daddy. He's human and broken. Sometimes he can't see the hurt he's causing her, and even when he can, sometimes that's not enough to get him through his pain. But he comes through for her and himself. That to me shows he's stronger than he realizes.

My favorite line from the whole book: "When I made love to you, I did it loving you with the heart that YOU changed." *sigh* So romantic...

If you have read this review, you don't need me to spell it out that I think this book is wonderful. You definitely need to meet Violet and Jet!!

Okay, I liked this one even though I wish there was a scene or two that the author would have expended on or we got a little bit more clarity. Jet feels like a bad person through most of the book and when we finally got to the part where it is discovered what he feels bad about, I wish it would have not been resolved so quickly. Nonetheless, I really like the characters except not sure how I felt about Tia, Violet’s BFF. Was she selfish or just an airhead??? Violet is sweet and beautiful and caring and selfless and I can go on and one about her and how much I adored her. Jet, yes he was your typical bad boy who also happened to be a hot singer for a band but he grew and understood the errors in his ways. Violet was his light.

I loved the premise…Violet attends a SAA (Sex Addict Anonymous) meeting except she is not a sex addict. She is there to support her friend, Tia, who is THE sex addict. Tia forgets about the meeting which leaves Violet attending alone and telling the group without really an out “Hi, I am Violet and I am a sex addict.” It was so fun to read how Violet who is shy and not really in jumping into bed with men is at this meeting. At the SAA meeting, Violet meets the hot and irresistible, Jet. Jet meets Violet and later asks her to be his SAA sponsor and the story goes from there with Violet dealing with the people in her life and Jet dealing with his secrets. The story was nice and with just enough angst that kept me interested. Perfect title for this romance.

4 “Violet, Sex Addict” “Just helping.” Kisses

I have been a huge fan of M. Leighton's for a while now and The Wild Ones Series is what made me fall in love with her writing, her characters and her ability to create a fantastic story. There's Wild Then There's You is a perfect example of just that. While TWTTY is part of the series, in my opinion it could be read as a stand alone. I’m a huge proponent for reading a series in order and I have read The Wild Ones and Wild Child , but I did skip Some Like It Wild, the book before this, and it didn't affect my reading enjoyment at all.

Violet Leigh Wilson...for a 22 year old she sure doesn't act like it. Violet is a fixer...a helper...she is always taking on the problems of the people she loves because...well, it's just in her nature. She is a social worker and to her core she really and truly cares about people, enough to sacrifice her own needs and wants to put theirs first. It's actually quite admirable and really endearing but at the same time, I kinda wanted to shake her a little bit. I loved where her heart was at but it hurt me that she never put herself first, even when she really needed to. She's an incredibly selfless person and so sweet and kind, she's insanely easy to love. She's also gorgeous...dark auburn hair with silvery grey eyes, a little on the innocent side but that worked a tiny bit in her favor...because no one ever thinks the good girl is capable of lying...but her lie caught her a sexy bad boy.

‘Those eyes…I recognize them instantly. I might dream about them later. I might remember them forever. They belong to the guy who was watching me when I stood up. They were disconcerting then, but now…seeing them with the rest of him…they’re a thousand times worse.
Or maybe a thousand times better.’

Jethro 'Jet' Blevins...mmmm...a very delicious rock star bad boy with spiky black hair and dazzling blue eyes...lean muscles and a nipple ring. Excuse me while I wipe up the drool. But don't let Jet fool ya, there is so much more to him then meets the eye. There's a lot of hurt underneath the IDGAF attitude and the second I saw that was the second I lost my heart to this boy. He's not had it easy...he's made some mistakes and let down the people he loves but he wants to do better, be better. There are so many different sides to Jet and the more the layers were pulled away and the more you saw the real him rather than the stage persona and the harder it was to deny that he really is a good guy. Seeing him with his brothers and interactions with his mom, seeing the way he reacted and treated Violet, it was all so sweet...quite the opposite of what I was honestly expecting. I also loved that he wrote songs and that's where his passion really was...and don't even get me started on the song he wrote for Violet *swoon alert*.

‘She stares up into my eyes and, for a second, we’re just two people who are incredibly attracted to one another. We’re not addicts or posers, or liars or cheaters. We’re not people with issues or those who keep secrets. We’re just a guy and a girl who feel an undeniable chemistry.’

So I know M. Leighton can write amazing angst...I have been at her mercy before but GOOD LORD...that was a whole other level IMO! Jet and Violet are wound tight...it was like a rubber band and I was just waiting for it to snap. They were both holding back for different reasons and I was loving and hating every second of it. This is a slow achingly tortuous build just completely sucked me into both of them. I loved each stage of their relationship...the way they met...I loved the cutesy little flirty stage where they were feeling each other out...I loved the trip to New Orleans the most, I felt like they had finally turned a corner and could be free and honest with each other but there was always this grey cloud looming overhead and I was so worried that once the damn broke, someone wasn't going to survive. Well, that someone was me!

“Don’t do that,” he whispers.
“Don’t do what?”
“Don’t show me your tongue. It’s all I can do not to stand up with you in my arms and carry you to a dark corner and taste everything that you’re hiding from me.”

They both had secrets...I dunno how Violet kept hers for as long as she did, but I thought Jets reaction was reasonable and logical. Jet on the other hand...I was scared shitless of his secret. I had absolutely no clue and I was worried about Violet because she was already emotionally vulnerable but once everything played out, I think I took it harder than she did. I think it was also a combination of the secret and the way we find out what the secret is...both were like a sucker punch to the gut and oh-em-gee the pain. It was harsh. I didn't know if I was going to be able to forgive Jet - the fall out and Violets reaction were hard but I was 100000% on her side (obviously!) but it didn't make things any easier. I, once again, had no idea how Jet was going to make up for what he did, I thought it was pretty close to impossible, but...the way he handled things was PERFECT! Genius wrapped in brilliance and dipped in amazing because it completely won me over. He was thoughtful and caring and really put a lot of thought into what he was doing and it showed big time.

‘It seems that as much as I tried to avoid it, as much as I’ve tried to explain it away and lie to myself about it – just like an addict would – I’ve finally found my weakness.
It’s Jet.’

TWTTY was a change of pace from the first two books in the series for me. Yes of course there was angst in both of those but the balance of angst to steam was proportional...as much as M squeezed my heart, she had an equal amount of steam factor to keep me in this happy little state. TWTTY was all angst, for most of the book and I really liked it! I am an uncontrollable angst whore so this was a welcomed change up for me. Not that there wasn't any steam at all...there was, it's just very understated and basically minimal...in comparison to the first two books. There was always this undercurrent of physical chemistry between Jet and Violet but it wasn't the core of who they were as a couple.

‘When he pauses, our noses touching and his lips hovering over mine, I feel the moist warmth of the sweetest words I’ve ever heard, settling over my skin and my heart like a soft promise. “I love you, Violet. I’ve loved you even before I met you. I had no idea what I needed in life until I found you. I didn’t know that there was a person who could make me whole. I didn’t know that there was a woman who could rock my world like no guitar ever could. I didn’t know that all the music in my life was missing something until I found you. You are the beautiful notes in every song I sing. You are the beautiful face behind every lyric I write. You are my reason, my muse. You’re the love I was waiting for, the one thing I can’t live without. Please tell me that you love me, too.”

The ending was...unexpected. Definitely had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath but it was amazing and perfect for Jet and Violet…everything I could have hoped for. I love this series hard so of course I am sad that it’s over…but this was a fabulous conclusion to incredibly addictive series. Part of me wonders with the introduction of Jet’s band, Saltwater Creek, if there isn’t a possibility for a spin off. The other guys in the group aren’t a huge focus, but they play their part nicely and of course, if it’s coming from M. Leighton’s brain, I can only imagine the fun she could have with them.

3.5 stars!

Imma just take a second to pant over this cover. Hot damn that's a sexy work of art. Yums! Alright. To the review! Leighton has definitely caught my attention with the Wild Ones series and makes it near impossible to put a book down once you've picked it up...even if some of the things the characters do are a touch questionable. Seriously, I was hella entertained as Jet and Violet get pulled into a whirlwind of addiction that collides with unstoppable lust, secrets and a chance for a future they never could have imagined.

Okay so the quick of it is that Jet and Violet meet one night in the most unconventional sort of way...at a sex addicts anonymous meeting. O.o Now that...is gonna be interesting, right? ::snort:: And as they're drawn towards one another and start getting involved with each other the secrets they're both harboring start to cause a little trouble and it...gets a little messy.

So. Have you ever finish a book and you just sit there for a second kinda wondering...did I like these two? Or rather, should I be liking these two...like I do? lol That's kinda how I landed with Violet and Jet. These two were pretty perfect for each other. They both manage to play fast and loose with the truth now and again and in the same general way though for different reasons. They're a bit damaged and struggling with who they are and their actions. She's a little bit of an over-reactor but she really does try to do what she think's is right and help those around her. And Jet. He's a little wild in his rocker ways. He's definitely not perfect but a bit flirty and definitely a bit smooth when he wants. And despite their individual flaws they're good for each other and really bring out the best in one another.
"That should be singular."

"What should be?"

"Partner. Only one."

"You've only been with one other man?"

I nod, feeling worse about this entire trip by the second."

"God, what a stupid asshole he must've been to give you up."

"I doubt he'd agree."

"That's why he's stupid."

The sex was hot but it was very limited. The title was pretty accurate. There's Wild, Then There's You. There really wasn't too much Wild happening in this one. Lots of tension and some nice lead up but only one real scene. It's a scorcher of a scene though.

There's a good bit of drama and angsty-ness happening. Everyone in this one is kinda screwed up. Violets utter fear of becoming addicted to anything and her desire to fix everyone, all of those in her life--father, best friend, cousins, aunts--that just...do whatever the hell they want consequences be damned and expect her to pick up the pieces. Jet and his band and their less than savory ways. I really didn't want to like...any of them. But in the end most ended up winning me over. Jet and Violet both managed to grow and change into better people because of knowing each other. Gotta love that.

Overall, while I wasn't quite as enamored with There's Wild, Then There's You as I was with the previous book I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Writing, pacing and emotional pull were all excellent. I was definitely in to this one and had a hard time putting it down despite my quibbles with the actual characters on a few points--like the secret they were each hiding. Just wasn't something I think should be messed with but that may just be me. If you like a bit of angsty romance mixed with humor and real life happenings definitely one to check out.

I got a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

4.5 Stars!

Oh my gosh. How have I never read M. Leighton up until now? Seriously kicking myself a little. I really, really, really enjoyed There's Wild, Then There's You. It's the third book in her The Wild Ones series, but that' okay, because it can be read as a stand-alone.

The story was fun, sexy, and a whole lot of Jet. Seriously, I hated and loved the guy at the same time. The moment his eyes zero in on Violet Wilson at a Sex Addicts meetings, he is unable to stay away from her. There is something about the woman that's so librarian innocent, that he finds himself drawn to her. Jet is your typical arrogant lead guitarist - singer at a local band and lives that stereotypical wild lifestyle. He loves his women, he loves his alcohol and does enjoy all of the attention. Jet is also very talented, but his lack of muse recently has been bringing him down. But, here comes Violet and that's all about the change.

Violet is a wallflower. She never had a truly meaningful relationship and was really at a sex addicts meeting due to her friend that never showed up and she had to stand up in the room full of strangers and lie her butt off - thanks to her fried. I felt sorry for Violet. She is sort of a fixer. If something goes wrong, she goes out of her way to make things right. She's a bit of a rug for her best friend who doesn't seem to have the same compassion for Violet as Violet does for her. She tends to take advantage of that and it did make me mad.

The passion and the attraction between Violet and Jet is both sweet and hot. He has to be a completely different man around her, and he actually tries really hard. Unfortunately, both are holding secrets from each other and I thought the reactions for both might have been a little over the top. Especially maybe in Violet's case. I might be wrong there thought. Yes I was a bit angry at Jet, but... they both lied, so?

I don't know. Couldn't relate to that, since never had it happen to me. Regardless, it didn't take away from the story for me and I really loved it. The characters with their interesting personality, the wonderful writing of Leighton and the plot really made this book for me.

I feel like I read a different book than everyone else on Goodreads. I saw so many great reviews for this one and I just did not care for it at all.

The whole premise of this one was just too far-fetched and ridiculous for me. The two of them meet at a sex addicts meeting that she just happens to be at because she signed her friend up and wanted to be there to support her. Her friend never shows so she just decides to stick around? Then she somehow gets roped into being a "sponsor" type person for this wannabe rock star and it just spirals into more craziness from there.

Violet, our heroine, could not have annoyed me more. She was a complete doormat, letting her friends and family just walk all over her. Her friendships seemed completely one-sided and I don't understand why she put up with so much from the people in her life. Then she meets Jet and lets him do the exact same thing to her.

On top of the whole storyline seeming far-fetched to me, the romance between Jet and Violet just didn't work. They seemed to have no chemistry and very little in common. Other than an attraction to one another, I'm not sure what they actually saw in each other. Add in the plot twist about Jet at the end and I could not see how their relationship would have survived.

I probably should have DNF'd this one but I felt like I got too far into the story to give it up so I just forced myself to finish it. Luckily it was a pretty short book so I didn't waste too much time on it.

Also, total pet peeve that has nothing to do with the story but could they not find a cover model with actual tattoos? The photoshop tattoos are absolutely horrendous.

Overall, this one is not one I'd recommend and I'm not sure I'll be reading any more from this author.

Quick & Dirty: Sexy new adult contemporary that was slightly forgettable but still a good read.

Opening Sentence: One by one, I watch the people in the rows in front of me stand up and introduce themselves.

The Review:

Violet Wilson has spent her whole life helping others and now that she is older it is her. She works as a social worker and surrounds herself with people that need fixing. Her father is a raging alcoholic ever since her mother left and because Violet loves him she takes care of him. Then there’s her best friend who has a problem with cheating. To try and help, Violet offers to attend a sex addict meeting with her friend. That’s where she meets Jet Blevins. He is undeniably gorgeous and sexy, but he is one person that Violet knows she needs to stay away from. Not only is she lying about being a sex addict, but she really has very little experience when it comes to guys. But when Jet asks her for help she just can’t say no. He makes her feel things she has never felt before and she doesn’t know if she can resist him forever.

Jet knows that he’s good looking and women tend to flock to him like birds. So when he meets Violet and she doesn’t encourage his advances he can’t help but be intrigued. At the moment he is the lead guitarist of a band, but his true passion is song writing. He has never been ashamed of his wild lifestyle or the fact that he hides all of his fears from everyone, until he starts to fall for Violet. He knows that he isn’t good enough for her and if she ever knew all his secrets she would hate him. They both think they know each other, but how can you ever really get to know someone if your whole relationship is built on lies?

Violet is a sweet girl that thought she was happy. She has made sure that she will never make the same mistakes as all the people in her life have. Because of that she has never really opened herself up to much of anything or anyone. So when Jet ignites feeling inside of her that she has never felt before she is sacred. I thought that Violet was a really easy character to like and connecting with her felt very natural. She grew so much as a character throughout the story, which made her feel more realistic.

Jet is your typical sexy bad boy that is broken inside. It’s not that I didn’t like Jet because I did, he was a great love interest, but I felt he was very similar to lots of other boys I have met. Because of that I felt he was somewhat forgettable. There wasn’t anything unique about him that really stood out to me, but I still thought he was a pretty dreamy guy. He is very cute with Violet and I really enjoyed watching them get to know each other. There is tons of great sexual tension and drama in their relationship. Even though Jet is not the most memorable guy he still was fun to meet.

This was a good romantic story full of steamy moments and fun characters, but not much else. There wasn’t a whole lot of substance to the story and it doesn’t really go beyond the love aspect of the plot. For me, I like it when there is a secondary plot that helps to keep the book more interesting and this didn’t have that. I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy this book because it was still a great read; it’s just one of those thoughtless books that is very forgettable. I actually finished this a few days ago and I am having a hard time remembering exactly what happened. I am actually a big fan of Leighton’s work, I love her writing, but this one just wasn’t the best I have read from her. If you are looking for an easy read full of passion, drama, and likeable characters, I would suggest you give this one a try.

Notable Scene:

Tall and striking, he oozes the very sex appeal that makes him fit right in this type of group. I doubt for a second that he’s even real, that he’s even human. That he’s anything more than a figment of my imagination. Everything about him is an invitation— his eyes, his smile, his posture. From his spiky black hair and dazzling blue eyes to his perfect lips and politely casual smile, he appeals to me like no one has ever appealed to me before. But he reeks of danger and hedonism, two things I avoid like the plague. Two things I’ve never wanted not to avoid.

Until now.

As we stare at each other, I wonder if he’s going to speak to me. And, if so, what he might say. I mean, we are at an SAA meeting. I’m sure picking up the other attendees is at the very least frowned upon. Before I can get too carried away pondering it, though, he smiles courteously and steps aside, stretching out his arm to push open the door for me.

FTC Advisory: Berkley/Penguin provided me with a copy of There’s Wild, Then There’s You. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Every time I read a new M. Leighton book, I declare a new favorite book boyfriend. As per usual, I've decided it can't get any better than Jet. My only complaint about There's Wild, Then There's You is I wanted to know more about him and his past and his relationship with his douchey dad. Other than that, this book had me at hello.

Between all of M. Leighton's "Wild" men to date - Trick, Jake and Jet - Jet from There's Wild, Then There's You, is by far my favorite, and he's also the worst of the lot. How does she do that?

Volet is a helper. She feels the need to help anyone who needs it, no matter if that means she has no time for herself or just to go out and have fun once in awhile. It's in this capacity that she finds herself at a sex addicts meeting to support her BFF who fails to show up. In a fit of desperation, Violet tells the group she is a recovered sex addict. She captures the attention of Jet Blevins, lead singer and guitarist for a local rock band. He asks her to be his sponsor, and in true Violet fashion, she agrees, even though it's under false pretenses. Jet and Violet grow closer and closer, while sharing more and more of their lives with each other. But, they're both withholding facts about that initial sex addicts meeting that could destroy their budding love before it really gets going.

I had a love/hate relationship with Violet. On one hand, her giving nature was respectable and admirable. She's a social worker, so she's used to fixing other people's problems. Her dad has a drinking problem, her BFF has issues (don't get me started), and then when Jet approaches her about sponsoring him, she agrees to that as well. She doesn't go out, doesn't know how to have fun. After awhile, I realized she's sort of pathetic. She constantly sacrifices of herself so that others can be lifted up, and each time, she loses a little bit more of herself. The fact that she doesn't realize this makes me nuts.

I think that's why I loved Jet so much. He was the one person that got Vi out of her own head and caused her to do things out of character - which was exactly what she needed. He wasn't willing to overlook their attraction to each other, despite meeting at a sex addicts meeting. He's got some balls, I'll say that much.

But, the more we see of these two beyond what they allow everyone else to see, the more I was endeared to both of them. Violet's rocky relationship wtih her dad and her nonexistant one with her mother is really very sad and has colored her views on love and relationships. Jet's dad has lots of money, but no time or attention for his son. His mom isn't happy with the way Jet is leading his life - drinking, sex, rock-and-roll - so, she doesn't want him spending time with his impressionable younger brothers, and that hurts him immensely. He doesn't think of himself as worthy of someone else's love because to date no one has deemed him worthy. It's pretty sad, actually.

It becomes evident early on that Jet is harboring a secret that he doesn't want Violet to know about. We all know what Vi's secret is (that she's not really a sex addict), but Jet's we could only speculate on. I have to say, I was WAY off on this one. I love being surprised. And, when I found out what his secret was, I thought it was both better and worse than it could've been. But, yet - it is pretty damaging, especially the way that Vi finds out.

The best part of There's Wild, Then There's You is how Jet and Violet both help the other without even realizing they're doing it. They encourage and uplift and care about each other in subtle ways that make a big impression. It's told in dual POV, and includes M. Leighton's typical extra spicy moments that I just love so much.

Although there is no mention of Trick and Cami from The Wild Ones, we do see what's happened with Jake and Laney from Some Like It Wild (The Wild Ones #2), which I was very thankful for.

If you haven't started M. Leighton's Wild Ones series, yet, you really need to. These bad boys are the best.

"There's something wild about those eyes, something that says she's hiding a little devil inside that hot-yet-innocent librarian exterior, and it's just dying to make its way out."

Violet will do anything for her friends including getting into a situation that is out of her element. And she never expected to meet a man there or where that would lead. And soon everything just snow balled.

She's the good girl, the level headed one, structured, stable, shy, and a bit insecure. She takes care of everyone else in her life, but not her own needs. She's a fixer, but she is afraid to risk getting hurt or getting too close to anyone.

Jet is a musician used to the fast lifestyle, excess, and getting what he wants. And now he wants Violet although he is not supposed to want to. He has pain in this past and he fills the void in unhealthy ways. He is kind of lost and at a cross roads. He is not proud of his past and things he has done, but is not sure where he is heading either.

They both have hidden secrets and are only partially honest. So they know they should not get involved. But when things progress and get more intense, the secrets are there lurking right under the surface threatening to ruin any chance of happiness they might find.

Because I still want her. I want her more than I want to tell her the truth.

In a world full of addiction, mistrust, and hidden agendas can these two opposites open up enough to have a chance at something real? And when the truth comes out can they show forgiveness or will it just cause more damage to them both?

Jet even sings it in a song..."Will she hate me when she knows? Will she take her love and go?"

I liked Jet even when I knew he was hiding something. He was honest with himself and knew he had been a selfish a**hole and felt guilty for it (even if we did not know why). But he was also afraid of losing Violet from his life. He had a vulnerability about him and began to show change. Violet had walls up and had trust issues since everyone in her life always relied on her to fix their problems. But no one was really there for her. But she also needed to learn to stand up for herself. They had chemistry and a magnetic pull, but they definitely had issues to overcome if they were going to have any chance.

We saw a little of Jake and Laney from Some like It Wild since Jet is Jake's friend. It was told in both points of view but we were not privy to all of the details of the secrets until they all came out so it kept me intrigued. This was a fast, fun, sweet, swoony story with some mysteries, twists, and drama to keep it interesting. It was a story about finding what you need when you least expect it and did not even know you were looking for it.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review. Will be posted at Reviews by Tammy and Kim.

Hi, my name is Maria and I am addicted to Michelle Leighton's men and novels. There isn't a character she's dreamed up that hasn't made my heart race, blood boil or given me goose bumps. Jet is right up there. He is a rocker, as if that weren't enough, he's so sexy it's wild. See what I did there...lol. Seriously, though, Jet is unlike any other rocker because he has ambitions that don't involve performing. However, as hot as he is, he's also a bad boy. We think we know why but he's got a secret. And it's not so nice. Then again, he never claims to be a nice guy. In fact, he tells us just the opposite.

"I want Violet, and I'll do whatever it takes to have her. Period. End of story. And that is who I am. That is the real me." ~ Jet

Enter Violet. Good girl. Social worker trying to fix the world one broken person at a time. She meets Jet in the most bizarre place. They both believe something about the other that isn't exactly true. One of the things I love is how Michelle Leighton builds the tension between the characters. The chemistry is tangible. The air is charged with desire. The reader can feel it. And is just as frustrated as the characters, waiting for them to get their act together.

"Everything about him is an invitation- his eyes, his smile, his posture. From his spiky black hair and dazzling blue eyes to his perfect lips and politely casual smile, he appeals to me like no one has ever appealed to me before. But he reeks of danger and hedonism. two things I avoid like the plague. Two things I've never wanted not to avoid. Until now." ~ Violet

The story is written in dual POV which I love because it allows me to get inside each of the main character's heads. I love knowing what they are thinking or feeling as told by them. Michelle Leighton is an expert at this type of writing. The characters are well developed. I love the banter between Jet and Violet but also between Violet and her best friend Tia. There are some laugh out loud moments and some touching ones, too. Violet is a perfect blend of tough, independent and vulnerable. Perhaps a bit to trusting, though she acts as if she's not. Jet, well I already told you how hot he is but he is also caring and sweet under his gruff exterior. I like that although the attraction is instant, their relationship develops slower. Michelle Leighton does a great job touching on the effects of addiction without being preachy or predictable, nor making light of it. Although, some addictions can be fun when they involve two people in love. Did I mention Jake, our favorite wild firefighter, makes an appearance or two?

Michelle Leighton has written another fantastic story with yet another totally AHHHHMAZING male character who will steal your heart with his sexiness and heart of gold under his bad boy persona. I highly recommend this novel. Fans of Ms. Leighton will not be disappointed.

More Reviews Here: Readers Live A Thousand Lives

I am a huge M. Leighton fan. I have yet to come across a book from her that I have not enjoyed, and at this point I seriously doubt that it will ever happen. This is my favorite of Michelle’s series, so I had very high expectations for There’s Wild Then There’s You and it definitely delivered! I absolutely loved Jet and Violet. This book delivered in every single way it could and I devoured it.

I am going right to Jet because I fell hard for Jet! I had a feeling I would like him (I’ve been going on and on about the tattoo on the cover for months) and I was right. I loved Jet. He honestly gave Trick a run for his money and I ADORE Trick. On the outside, Jet is a bad boy rocker who does what he wants. However, underneath that there is a truly great guy. Meeting Violet brings out the best in him and makes him want to be a better man.

Then we have Violet and I adored Violet. She is such a truly strong and giving person. Violet has spent her entire life helping others and always taking care of herself second. My heart hurt for Violet because I just wanted her to put herself first for once. Also because she is so afraid of being hurt that she never takes any risks. She was an amazing person and anyone would be incredibly lucky to have a friend like her. Just like Jet needed Violet; she needed him as well. Jet taught her to open up and that having a weakness doesn’t make you weak.

This book gripped me from the beginning. I was in love with Violet and Jet from page one and loved watching their relationship grow. But I knew that there were secrets on both sides and I knew that those secrets were going to hurt when they were exposed and I was right. My heart absolutely shattered when we encountered the twist and the secrets came out. I also had a hard time seeing how they would work past it; but this is Michelle so I had faith that she would not disappoint me in the end. My heart was happy then broken and then it melted into a giant puddle of goo.

Violet and Jet have amazing chemistry and you can just see that they work together. However, what really captured me in this one wasn’t the steaminess between the two but simply the two of them together. I loved their interactions and just the way they were together. They were a slow burn and the buildup between the two was fantastic. They were very sweet together. I also loved how Jet was towards Violet, especially towards the end. He does some things that truly captured my heart.

There’s Wild Then There’s You was everything I expected it to be and more. Jet and Violet stole my heart and I did not want to let them go. I know this one will see many re-reads in the future.

IN REALTA' 3 STELLE E MEZZO

OMG!!!! Loved Loved Loved this book.....definitely one to be added to your TBR....get ready for Jet....he's a panty changer for sure!! Full review below....

The Wild Ones Series is one of my favorite series from Michelle, as The Wild Ones was the first novel I have ever read by her. I can honestly tell you that I think her writing gets better with every book and I didn't think that was possible.

This book was so captivating that I read it within hours could not put it down. Hell…. I didn't want to! I think I may have even highlighted more than half of the book on my kindle, because it was just that good!

Violet was a helper and because she was trying to help a friend she crossed paths with Jett Blevins. Her attraction for him undeniable and as her time with Jett increases he tears down the walls she has forged over the years to protect her heart. A hidden truth could cost her all she has risked.

Jett isn’t your typical rocker or is he? With women available at his whim and constantly throwing themselves at him, but he wasn’t expecting Violet to take his heart by storm. While spending time together Jett hides another side to himself for fear that it will send her running. But he too holds as secret. And that secret holds just as much devastation as hers.

Will that connection and the foundation that they have started be enough to withstand the truth?

I love the story and the genuineness of the characters. Violet, the name sounds innocent enough but with a little bit of influence from Jet all bets are off. Jet awakens feelings and needs in Violet that she had closed herself off from. Jet, well he pretty much stole my heart. It's not uncommon for me to fall for the lead character in a Michelle Leighton novel, however, Jett is pretty close to taking the crown. He comes off all badass but underneath that exterior is a sensitive, caring and lovable man.

As the story develops and the plot unfolds I was pulling hard for a resolution, a happy ever after for Violet and Jett. Yes, there were tears, yes there is angst. There were some super sexy scenes and some heart stopping moments. But most of all there was love and a beautifully told story.

Although this is part of The Wild One Series I believe you could read it as a standalone. There are some characters that appear from novels past but I do not believe it will detract from the story. Go grab your copy of There’s Wild, Then There’s You and let Jet rock your world.

Eigene Meinung:

Omg.

Love the cover!! Yum, yum. This book was different than the other books in the series mainly because Jet is a musician, and although I liked this book the other three in the series I loved so much more. Jet I loved being inside his male little head, "her figure is small but proportionate - round ti*s, flat stomach, firm a**, long legs. Looking at her makes me glad to have found her here. I know for sure she likes one thing. And she likes it a lot. I can sympathize with that." I mean the boy is well hell bent on getting Violet, "this isn't about success or proving a point of winning. This is about me wanting a woman. One woman in particular. Violet. I want Violet, and I'll do whatever it takes to have her. Period. End of story. And that is who I am. That's the real me." I mean he just doesn't care where they are when the need hits for him to tease his girl he'll tease his girl with yummy sayings, "don't tease me with that delicous a** and that short skirt. You may care that we're in public, but I do not." He's an enthusiastic lover, he likes to make sure his girl knows exactly how he feels, "god, yes," he moans, "ride me. Take every inch of it. Come all over me." I liked this story but as I said the other three I just loved.

I have no idea why I'm surprised with how wonderful this book was - I loved the last book I read by this author & I guess I just forgot how lovely her work is. I was only disappointed in the cover - since I got an ARC, I didn't get the amazing cover that is pictured here - I LURV the whole black & white with only a touch of color thing! The story itself was incredible. I even loved the back & forth POV between Jet & Violet. The pacing was spot on and the characters were well thought out. The only thing I though the story could use was a little more about the conflict between Jet & his mother. I get the gist of what the issue was but I think it would have resonated even more if it could have been spelled out a bit - maybe in a conversation he could have had with Violet? The sex was hot & steamy - just the way I like it! And the emotional angles definitely packed a wallop! And even though I really don't like the 'new adult' sub-genre, I will definitely be reading more from this author - she opens my eyes to something new in each book!

FTC Advisory: I won a copy of this book through the GoodReads First Reads program. No compensation for my review was given.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this new Wild One's Novel by M. Leighton. Hot and sexy...pull you in from the first page.

Jet and Violet meet in an usual place - A Sex Addicts Anonymous meeting. Just the perfect place to find that perfect mate, right? LOL

Jet is a hot, brooding rock star with a past that he hasn't been all that honest with Violet about. But then again, Violet was only at the meeting to help support her best friend, who really is the sex addict. Violet has only slept with one other person and her shyness is what is throwing Jet off. The innocence is a breath of fresh air to Jet and his chaotic life. But Jet has his own secrets...will they end up tearing apart the feeling each have for each other?

This was a hot and steamy read that I had the hardest time putting down (dang those kids who need to eat!) and when I was over, I was clamoring for more.

Top must read for the year!
