I did enjoy this story although I don’t think this is one of Ms. Lee’s better works. My primary complaint is that it feels like a lot was left out; that some things were just glossed over. A lot of focus is on Jae’s feelings and ability to love after his disastrous breakup with Jaesun, but that is at the expense of the other characters. Jung and Andre are central figures but we learn almost nothing about them. Dan is introduced as a shady character, perhaps involved with the mob, but his reason for helping Rebellion is addressed very quickly by a couple of sentences late in the book. But the most confusing aspect to me was that the trio left N-sang Entertainment because they felt they were being swindeled and receiving on a small fraction of what they were due. Yet, all three appear to be quite wealthy, which, mid-way through, is attributed to their success with Black Shade.
The story ends on a positive note with most, but not all, of their challenges resolved.
