If you think popularity is hard to achieve just try it when you’re dead. All is right in the world of teen cheerleader, Brooke Renfield, until her entire family is turned into the undead while on vacation. Now the Renfields just want to return to their normal suburban life, but that may be far harder then they ever imagined. It falls to Brooke to keep her family safe as their secrets come to light in the dark of night. Trying to balance your friends, boys, the nosy neighbors, and the entire ruling class of ancient vampires out to destroy your loved ones can be a lot trickier then English class.
This book is not terribly well written. It is, indeed, really bad. I haven't read anything else by this author, but this may be a first, and probably self-published book. I do know that it is geared toward young readers, but even granting that, it seems like it was written by someone who has heard all about teenagers... But never actually known seen one. Well.. It's ghastly... Just ghastly.
Spoiler alert: IT STARTS OUT BAD... AND NEVER GETS ANY BETTER.
The book is written from the perspective of a 16 year old girl and what happens when her and her entire family are turned into vampires....it was an entertaining read from start to finish. If your looking for something light and fun, this is it, a great summer read. I do look forward to finding out what happens to the Renfields in the next book.
