Haven Harbor #4

Wish You Would

Rate this book
It wasn’t that long ago that I vowed to stay away from Holden Banks. He’s stubborn, cocky, practically intolerable. And now he’s my new roommate.

Suddenly, the two of us are sharing dinners, secrets, late night massages. Did I mention the guy is drop dead gorgeous? This was not in the plans when I moved back to Reed Point.

I know all about Holden’s reputation. He’s a notorious player. A heartbreaker who is way too attractive for his own good, with his smoldering smirks and piercing green eyes.

But it turns out he’s also sweet and thoughtful, even taking care of me when I get sick. Maybe that’s why, in a moment of weakness, I offer to be his fake date to his ex’s wedding. This is starting to get complicated—and dangerous.

There’s no denying the explosive chemistry between us, but we’re also complete opposites in every way. I’m a free spirit, he’s a Type A neat freak. I’m a romantic, he’s quick to remind me he doesn’t believe in love. Oh, and he’s also newly celibate.

That is, until a night out with our friends and a few too many tequilas ends with me in his bed. I tell myself it’s just one electrifying night and come morning, I’ll forget it ever happened. But the filthy things he said to me are unforgettable.

Soon, lines are blurred, and our relationship starts to feel very real. After all, what’s more real than finding out I’m pregnant with his baby?

Wish You Would is an extra spicy, small-town romance with angst, scorching hot tension, and an mmc you will fall hard and fast for.

never met a pregnancy trope I didn’t like! sweet & cozy if a little cheesy small town romance 🔸💛🔸

Holden & Briar become accidental roommates when her new apartment floods. Although they are complete opposites they can’t fight the sparks in the air ✨ One night stand with your roommate sounds like a terrible idea MADE EVEN WORSE by the unintended consequences but this is their unconventional love story 💛

Easygoing contemporary romance with small town vibes & cozy found family energy. The story really warmed my heart especially Holden’s care and protectiveness once Briar became pregnant.

💛 fake dating

💛 roommates BUT there’s only one bed

💛 dirty talking mmc

💛 adorable pregnancy trope and not just in the epilogue

ALTHOUGH most of the conflict between Holden & Briar could have been resolved with a simple conversation. The miscommunication trope is not my favorite but it wasn’t too annoying especially with their friends calling them out on it. Not really sure why they were fake dating either…to fool themselves perhaps?

This was my first book by this author and I thought the writing was spot on! Super easy read that was perfect for my pool hangout ☀️

I am soooo sad that we won’t be going back to Haven Harbor. 😩 Holden and Briars book was the sweetest ending to a small town series I will always recommend.

If you like surprise pregnancy add this to the tbr. You’ve got your signature Lily Miller acts of service down soo bad MMC in Holden and a chaotic and fun FMC in Briar!

The way Holden took care of Briar from the very beginning was just 🤌🏽🫠🤭 I just loved to see them grow into their relationship.

The epilogue gave me LIFE. Seeing all the characters together truly made me cry and it was just the best way to end such a good series. I can’t wait to see what Lily does next but—
If you like an acts of service man run to read this book! Thank you Lily for the opportunity to read this book early and for being you 💜

We’ve got Briar—fresh out of a toxic breakup, back from Vancouver, and dealing with an ex-boyfriend who may or may not have shared her nudes with his friends like the absolute douchebag he is.

She’s a mess. He’s a control freak. She drinks peppermint tea. He gags at the smell. She has a cat. He’s allergic. So obviously, they move in together.

Cue: fake dating for a wedding. Cue: “practice” kisses that are not fake. Cue: tequila making dreams come true. And surprise! Pregnancy.

BUT THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS.
This book didn’t just throw a surprise baby at us and dip—no, Lily Miller let us live in it. We got the baby milestones. The first kick. The reveal. Rebuilding intimacy. All the soft, swoony stuff most books shove into an epilogue? We got chapters of it, and I LIVED for every second.

Now let’s talk about Holden: Husband material. Daddy material. Everything material. When Briar tells him she’s pregnant and he just says “I want this baby with you”? Shut up. I melted into my couch. Cancel the last 40%—I was ready to call it HEA right there.

Is there some late-book miscommunication? Yes. Did it make me roll my eyes? Also yes. But was I mad? Not really—because it led to more sweet moments, and at that point I was fully invested.

This book made me want to wake up early just to keep reading. It’s soft, sweet, sexy, and full of that quiet kind of love that sneaks up on you and won’t let go.

Rating: 5/5
Steam: Oh honey. Let’s just say I made questionable choices about where I was reading this. (Spoiler: high school hockey game. Mistakes were made.)
Tropes: Forced proximity, fake dating, surprise pregnancy, opposites attract, cinnamon roll hero disguised as a grump.

ARC Review : Wish You Would by Lily Miller || Book 4 in the Haven Harbor series || Releases 4.15.25

What to expect:
🌼Small Town
🌼One Bed
🌼Fake Dating
🌼Surprise Pregnancy
🌼Celibate MMC and his FMC who is his undoing

After a tough break-up, Briar decides to move back to Haven Harbor from her home in Vancouver. However, she quickly finds out she is without a place to stay. Daisy convinces Holden to take Briar and her cat in for a few months. Nights spent together over dinner and conversation leads to sharing a bed and fake dating. It’s not long before feelings develop and they take their friendship and fake relationship to the next level. Shortly after their first night together, Briar finds out she is pregnant. Holden, being the absolute dream that he is, steps in and becomes the man and father he never knew he wanted to be.

Lily, you absolute blew me away with this one.

I never thought the crown could be taken away from Tuck, but here we are. Holden was everything and more. He was protective, caring, & thoughtful. He was strong , but soft only for Briar. He loved fiercely and stepped up to his responsibilities.

And Briar 💛… She was an absolute ray of sunshine and I loved every damn bit of her. She was the chaos to Holdens calm.

I loved being able to see all the characters from the previous 3 books and the feeling of family that comes with a Lily book.

Lily, thank you so much for allowing me to ARC read the Haven Harbor series for you, it has been an absolute honor. Your writing will always be beautiful to me, & I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. Looking forward to chatting with you in the DM’s for years to come 💛

ARC Book Review
Book: Wish You Would by Lily Miller
Release Date: April 15th
Genre: Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well, I just finished Wish You Would—and WOW. What a beautiful, heartwarming ride. As you know, I’ve been dipping my toes into the romance genre lately, and this one completely stole my heart. Bonus? It’s actually Book 4 in a series, but I read it as a standalone and felt totally connected. The first three books follow the best friends of our main characters, Briar and Holden—and now I have to go back and read them, because if they’re anything like this one, I’ll be a puddle on the floor.

This series finale is packed with all the fan-favorite tropes that make romance readers swoon:

Tropes:
• Fake dating ✨
• One bed apartment situation 🛏️
• Surprise pregnancy 🤰
• Roommates to soulmates 🏠❤️
• Small town charm 🌸
• Spice 🔥
• Past relationship trauma 💔

This story had everything I never knew I needed. Coming off a dark and twisty Lucinda Berry thriller, this sweet, steady love story was the perfect emotional reset. No crazy plot twists, just pure connection, chemistry, and characters you want to hug. It’s got that feel-good, chick flick movie energy—but in book form—and I devoured it.

I felt so at peace while reading, and even without the usual suspense I go for, I was completely invested. I can already see this becoming a summer go-to for romance lovers—perfect for patio mornings with a coffee. Honestly, it reminded me of how I felt reading Nicholas Sparks back in high school: dreamy, emotional, and totally swept up.

I’m beyond grateful to have been chosen as an ARC reader for this gem. If you’re looking for a cozy, feel-good, emotionally satisfying read with just the right amount of spice—Wish You Would is the one. Now excuse me while I go backward and binge books 1–3!

I’m sad to see the Haven Harbor series come to an end. I love the guys in this book. Their found family is the best.

I’ve been itching for Holden’s story for awhile now. Him and Briar are the perfect pair. She’s the last thing that he expects, but as soon as she moves in with him it’s clear that there’s more between them. When Holden needs a date to his ex’s wedding, he barely has to ask and Briar is all in on being his fake girlfriend. But there’s nothing fake between them.

I’m not always a surprise pregnancy fan but Lily did a great job with this one.

Thank you Lily for allowing me to be a part of your ARC team.

Thank you so much, @authorlilymiller, for letting me be part of your ARC team and reading your amazing story! 💕

I am a fantasy and sci-fi girl through and through, but every now and then, I love reading something out of my realm! In this case, romance! I saw the blurb and knew this was something I would love reading 😍

This small town romance set in Reed Point is the perfect book to devour in one sitting. This stunning story is filled with amazing swoon worthy moments, spicy scenes, and hilarious banter filled conversations!

The chemistry created between the two main characters, Holden and Briar, is everything! Holden, who has recently sworn off relationships, is a man who would do anything and everything for the person he loves, if only he would let himself. Briar, on the other hand, has just left a toxic relationship but still shines through as a happy ray of sunshine but with a feisty side that you wouldn't mess with!

I would recommend this book if you love ~

i usually do not count DNFs but i am counting this ONE. first of all, felt like the characters have zero personality. how many times does it have to be written that Holden has a type A personality? like we get it.... I also do not need to know everything a character is feeling. as a reader it makes me feel kinda dumb, like I can come to a conclusion if a character is upset or mad or happy on my own. it doesn't have to be written down for me. also, the final straw aka what got me to officially DNF this book was this line from chapter 9, the first sex scene, the female MC describes IT as, and i quote: "the perfect mushroom-shaped tip" like ... anyway...

This is the first book I have read by Lily and I am so glad that I started with this book. She gave me great characters, funny moments, swoony moments and an all around great read!

I truly enjoyed seeing Briar and Holden fall in love ❤️. They definitely weren't looking for it but it found them anyway. I was hoping that they would be able to embrace everything about their circumstance. After some time they truly did and I was over the moon for these two!

Briar wasnt expecting for her life to change the way it did so quickly. But fate had other plans for her. Fate knew what they were doing and did it BIG for Briar and Holden. I loved Briar and her whole aura she had about her. She was such a fun and beautiful person. She deserved good things not the trash she took out. Once she was able to see what she had in front of her she embraced it 😍.

Holden was a Mr. Grumpy Pants in the beginning. His OCD was running his life and he was unwilling to change. Until change came knocking down the door in the form of Briar. He didn’t want his life to change but it truly did when she came into it. For Better Or Worse! But it was definitely for the better. He was able to work through some of his OCD with deep immersion therapy AKA Briar 😆. Not only was she good for his heart and life but also good for his OCD.

I loved the journey these two went on to find their person in each other.

Me… Obsessed with another Lily Miller book? Who’s surprised (cus it sure isn’t me!!). This was such a beautiful ending to one of my favorite small town series and I have completely fallen head over heels for Holden and Briar.

Briar recently got out of a toxic relationship and moved to Reed Point for a fresh start. She was in need of a place to stay after her apartment had an unexpected issues and Holden had an extra room. Holden swore off women but after Briar offers to be his fake date to his ex’s wedding, he couldn’t say no. They both want different things in life and convinced themselves it would never work, but after Briar finds out she’s pregnant with Holden’s baby - their lives are turned upside down.

My man Holden!!! He is such a caring and thoughtful man I would get SO giddy the entire book. This man would do anything and everything for Briar and I was OBSESSED!!! And my girl Briar - gosh I loved her so much. She was fiesty but also such a ray of sunshine and was Holden’s perfect match. Although Holden swore off all women in the start, she was truly his undoing and he was a complete goner for her.

From the perfect amount of small town spice, to the sweetest and swoon worthy moments, this is a MUST read for all my small town romance lovers!! It is so sad to see this incredible series come to an end, but it makes me so excited to see what Lily comes out with next!!!

This book was absolutely adorable! I really enjoyed Never Say Never, but Wish You Would is my new favourite in the series. I loved the roommates-to-lovers dynamic between Holden and Briar. They are opposites in so many ways, but their different personalities complement each other so well. Their relationship was adorable and they had such great chemistry. Holden was so sweet to Briar throughout the book and you could really see how much he cared for her. The epilogue was also amazing and it was great to see all the couples from the series. This book was such a feel-good romance and I cannot wait to read more of Lily’s books.

Briar and Holden unexpectedly ended up being roommates at the very beginning of the book. Once she moves in she invades everywhere- her scent is everywhere, her messes are everywhere, she is everywhere. She inserts herself thoroughly into Holden’s life even though he wants to hate it. But alas, the roommates become friends who have a very short lived fake dating bout that ends up with an accidental pregnancy. Both of their lives, hearts, emotions and plans get completely turned upside down- and in a good way. ❤️ Their story gives you tension, opposites attract, grumpy x sunshine, roommates to lovers, fake dating, accidental pregnancy and found family. Some of the best tropes represented in their whirlwind of a romance.

I read this book as a standalone, and it was a bit hard to understand who all the side characters were.

I liked that there was no third act breakup, because that would have been really stressful for someone in their third trimester.

I would have liked to see more of Briar's friends that weren't Holden's friends first. If she already lived there at some point, she would've made friends already. I was sad to see her only hanging out with Holden's friends. I understand that those are characters we've already read about and have a bond too, but introducing new characters would have been fun.

Thank you Lily Miller for the e-ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I really really wanted to like this one more than I did… I’m assuming that this Briar is the same one from the first book but she was kind of a villain in that book and then “left” but we never really got a redemption story or honestly get told that it really is the same Briar so I wish there was more explanation there. I honestly didn’t feel the chemistry between her and Holden and there were times where it was just a bit awkward. There were also parts where it was emphasized that they were “messed up” from their past relationships but then it wasn’t really expanded on and didn’t seem like there was any evidence to that point.

Wish You Would by Lily Miller said soft yearning but also said emotional damage in the cutest way possible.

Briar’s ex is a douche. Briar needs a new place to live. Moves in with old buddy Holden. She has a cat. He’s allergic. Perfect pair.

Perfect pair fake dates to a wedding. Perfect pair really drinks tequila and has their clothes fall off post wedding. Perfect pair makes real baby. Perfect pair has hangover. Perfect pair later finds out they made real baby. Ooops!

Baby daddy Holden is 100% a great baby daddy and 100000% in love with Briar. HEA.

Charming, swoony, and absolutely worth the late bedtime. Zero regrets. Would absolutely let this book hurt my feelings again 💅💖

The premise of this book is one I enjoy, so when the ARC for this became available, I grabbed it. I am glad I did, and I enjoyed my time with this couple.

Holden is very happy with is calm and predictable routine, and self-imposed celibacy. After all, breakups are no fun! His world gets upended when Daisy cajoles him into opening his home to her friend, Briar, who is temporarily homeless.

Briar knows a thing or two about breakups as well, but feels a huge attraction to her new roommate, and can't help inserting her sunshiney touches into his home, and his life. Soon, this couple finds themself unable to keep the "fake" in their relationship, and feelings turn towards real. Add to it an unexpected pregnancy, and well - you know how this is going to go.

I enjoyed seeing this couple navigate their situation, but there were a couple of things that didn't work for me (totally a "Me" thing). The banter between the friend group was entertaining, and I enjoyed the HEA.

I recommend this read, this author, and this series. I voluntarily leave my review.

This book is lovely. The surprise pregnancy trope is starting to grow on me and it’s done very well in this book. I was hooked by Briar and Holden’s instant attraction and their getting to know each other games and kept reading to see how this would become love. I also appreciated their welcoming group of friends that become like another family for them and the extra bonus epilogues at the end that show the readers even more of their HEA. Thank you to author Lily Miller and Kait Miller of Literally The Best Author Services for the opportunity to read this early.

I absolutely loved Holden and Briars story. Their relationship was so sweet, the banter was hilarious, and the care between the two characters was immaculate.

After a tough breakup, Briar moves back to Haven Harbor. Unfortunately after an accident to the apartment she was going to rent, she needed to find a new place to stay temporarily. Cue in Holden ❤️

The two of them are complete opposites; she’s messy, he’s a neat freak. She has a cat, he’s allergic. She loves tea, he hates the smell. However, nights together with conversation and vulnerability leads to a friendship that settles into a “fake dating” arrangement. Feelings and temptations get involved and they have one night together.

Not too long after, Briar finds out she’s pregnant: after Holden already told her that he doesn’t see himself having a family or settling down. But of course, Holden being the dream boat he is, steps up and becomes the man and father that Briar and their baby needs.

Holden becomes a man obsessed & involved.
He literally downloads the pregnancy tracking app and tells Briar all the things. He is so committed to them, it’s swoonworthy and makes you instantly fall in love with him more than you already are. Holden is protective, caring and thoughtful. He loves Briar so fiercely.

I absolutely loved this series and am so sad it’s over. These characters feel like real life friends. I highly recommend giving this series a read!

Sweet, swoony, spicy....Wish You Would had all of that and even more! This couple, the story, the tropes. Everything was just right for a sweet love story with absolutely lovable and relatable characters. I was filled with all the butterflies and giddiness and still am even now.

I want to be friends with Briar. Instantly, I wanted to be her friend. Her vibe and energy was so infectious drawing me in to want to learn more about her and her journey. On top of everything, see how happy she was on her pregnancy journey was so sweet to read.

Holden Banks. Enough said. This man is a wonderful example of "if he wants to, he will." From their first interaction, the way he is enthralled with Briar was me kicking my feet. Plus, when this man found out he was going to be a dad. I was done for. A changed man who is undone for his woman and his child will get me every time.

I loved everything about Briar and Holden and the littler Slugger! There were so many sweet moments between the two and even three of them. To see Briar and Holden come to the realization that they deserve the world together made me so happy. Their story is a must read that will definitely be a go to recommendation from now on.

I absolutely love this book! Briar moves back to Reed Point after leaving a bad relationship. When the apartment she is supposed to be renting has some repairs that need to be fixed, she has nowhere to stay. Her best friend suggests she stays with Holden who is sexy, single and off limits. Holden has sworn off relationships and ever having a family. When Briar moves in with him temporarily and starts bringing light into his home and life he has a hard time keeping things platonic. The angst between them was so intense! And after one night of crossing the line together, Briar finds out she’s pregnant! I loved seeing Holden step up and take care of Briar. He ended up being so sweet! I loved these 2 opposites together. Briar is a free spirit and Holden is a type A everything has to be in order! I love anything Lily Miller writes so this is no different! This whole series is amazing!!

I had to opportunity to read this book as an ARC and while I am so sad that this series is now finished, this book was the perfect way to end it and probably my favorite book in the series.

Briar moves back to Haven Harbor only to find out that her apartment has flooded so she has nowhere to go. Enter Holden, who lets her stay with him until her apartment is finished. After an invite to an ex's wedding, Briar suggests that they fake date and go to the wedding. After denying that they're both attracted to each other they spend one night together which ends up leading to Brair becoming pregnant. Holden immediately jumps in even though he isn't sure that he wants kids but quickly realizes that he wants this baby and he wants it only with Briar.

Even though they're opposites, Briar and Holden fit so well together with how they love and care for each other and their baby. Reading all the little moments between them was so special and showed exactly who they are.

"Wish You Would" will be available on April 15th and I hope you pick it up! I am so sad that this series is ending but I can't wait to see what's next to come!

Wow. 🤩 What a great finale to a series I have loved from the start. I love how Lily took two people, who couldn’t be more opposite, and put them in a situation where they became roommates. Holden is a very controlled minimalist and a slight OCD neat freak with his spotless house. Then, in comes the tornado that is Briar. With her cat whom Holden is, of course, deathly allergic to.

—I tear my gaze away from her legs and instead look around my kitchen. It looks like a bomb went off. The mess in the bathroom is nothing compared to this. I chew on my lip to stop myself from snapping, feeling my lack of sleep and aching back. I should be grateful. Really, I should. She’s only my temporary roommate, a favor to friends, and yet here she is, making me breakfast like she’d done it a hundred times before.
“Morning,” I manage to say, fighting my instinct to grab a cloth and start cleaning.—

Briar is coming off a toxic relationship and looking to heal but still a romantic at heart who wants to find everlasting love. Holden, on a self imposed relationship hiatus and celibate for the past year, always quick to point out that love, marriage and babies are very much not, in his future. So although they have crazy chemistry and both genuinely like each other; they agree, after having an explosive night together, they should remain friends only.

Cue the “oops pregnancy” and now we get to see how everything Holden thought he didn’t want makes his actual dreams come true.

I love how we got to see these two, complete opposites, come together to heal each other from their past relationship trauma and be each other’s people. Briar became everything Holden didn’t know he wanted and Holden became Briars safe place to land.

—“Remember when you told me you didn’t believe in soulmates?”
“And look at you making me eat my words,” she murmurs, flattening her palm over my heart.—

I’m sad this series is over but with all the children these various couples had, I hope we’ll end up back in Reed Point in the future.

Thank you Lily for the gift of reading this series. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Book Review (ARC)🥞🐈🍁:

Wish you would by Lily Miller

Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️

Topics throughout the book are:
🥞 Small Town
🐈 surprise pregnancy
🍁 fake dating
🥞 forced proximity
🐈 Dual POV
🍁 opposite attracts

Summary🥞🐈🍁:
After a humiliating breakup, Briar leaves her hometown of Vancouver and heads back to Read Point for a fresh start. But things quickly go sideways when a flood makes her new apartment unlivable. With nowhere to stay, her best friend Daisy convinces the ever-reluctant Holden Banks to let Briar—and her cat, Bear—crash at his place.
Holden, still bitter from his own breakup, isn't exactly thrilled. He’s all order and routine; Briar’s chaos and color. Total opposites. Total disaster… or maybe something else?
From sharing secrets to fake dating—and one tequila-fueled night that lands them in bed together—the sparks are impossible to ignore. And when an unexpected pregnancy turns everything upside down, they’re forced to figure out if what they have is real.
An opposites-attract, forced proximity romance full of heart and spice is chef-kiss.

Book four in the Haven Harbor series and I was so thrilled to find out it was finally Holden and Briar’s story! After seeing sparks in book three, I couldn’t wait to watch them come together—and Lily totally nailed it.
Briar feels like a kindred spirit—tea lover, sunshine energy, always smiling. And Holden? Grumpy, guarded, but secretly the most thoughtful and protective guy… aka my new book boyfriend. Their chemistry is perfection. As a Canadian, I love supporting Canadian authors, and Lily is easily in my top three. Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review 💖

Although this book was my first introduction into the Haven Harbor series, this couple had me interested in their story from the first few chapters. The differences in Holden and Brian's personalities were entertaining: he's very organised and Type A, and she's a free spirit who leaves an organised mess in her wake.

It was so enjoyable to read about two people with undeniable chemistry try and navigate their roommate situation, and for the most part we get to see how they're both able to be respectful of each other's boundaries while still be willing to compromise.

I like how their romantic relationship progressed. It felt natural in the way that it unfolded. Briar goes from not wanting a relationship to being open to the possibility of it after being treated so well by Holden, and he goes from not wanting to be married or having children at all to being both a father and seeing Briar as the right girl for him to potentially settle down with.

That being said, there were a lot of time skips between chapters, and the book went from a continuous account of the present to a compilation of moments between Holden and Briar. Instead of letting the readers sit with the thoughts and feelings of these characters, you engage with these on a superficial level in favour of being exposed to the milestones in both their relationship and the pregnancy. Although it was really sweet to read about the unfolding of Holden and Briar's relationship, and their preparations for parenthood, I wish I'd gotten more continuous scenes with them being a couple instead of the summarised, time-skipped snippets I read. And after the maturity they develop throughout the story, the miscommunication felt like conflict for the sake of the 3rd act.

But since you see the progression of this relationship from when they're strangers until they become a couple of parents in love, you get to experience this relationship and how it unfolds as Holden and Briar do, which makes their love feel real, if not a little rushed.

Wish You Would is the fourth and final book in the Haven Harbor series. It follows Holden Banks and Briar Moore.

I read this book in a matter of hours because I did not want to put it down! Briar is back in town after a bad break up but she soon finds out she has nowhere to go after an incident with her apartment which causes her to not be able to move in right away like she had originally planned. Holden reluctantly offers up his spare bedroom to her. When Holden gets invited to his high school ex’s wedding, who happens to be a family friend, Briar offers to go as his fake date. Briar and Holden both knew they were not looking to get into anything serious, but one drunken night led to the future, neither one of them planned.

Holden is quiet, confident, sweet, thoughtful, and protective. He is honestly one of my favorite male characters from this series! I can’t get over how this man would literally do anything for Briar, even allow her to move in with him along with her cat even though he is severely allergic. He never thought he would be one to have kids or get married, but once Briar finds out she is pregnant, he soon finds out he wants it all with her.

Briar is sweet, caring, easygoing, and bold. She is a hurricane who literally disrupted his life for the better. I love that even before truly knowing him, she wants to take care of him just as much as he wants to take care of her.

Holden and Briar could not be more opposite, but their relationship works. Their banter was easy in a way that made the progression of their relationship work. I loved that the more they got to know each other, the deeper their connection became. Though Briar did not intend to, she made his house a home and brought joy into his life.

While I am sad for this series to be ending, I am excited to see what is next to come!!

You will enjoy this book if you like the following:
- Small town
- Surprise pregnancy
- Fake dating
- One bed
- Opposites attract
- Forced proximity
- Roommates to lovers

Thank you so much, Lily Miller, for the gifted copy!

HOLDEN. BANKS. Enough said.

There’s so many emotions with this review and saying goodbye to Haven Harbor.
But I’ll start here - if you thought there couldn’t be a better man than Tucker Collins, enter Holden Banks… this man is such a dream come true.

Holden has such a big heart, with so much love to give but after being so burned in the past - he becomes celibate and swears off women for the time being. Until, Briar returns from Vancouver and ends up needing a place to live until her apartment is ready. This is the beginning of the end for Holden… Briar is everything he swore he wouldn’t find - a soulmate, his everything, someone worth creating a family with.

There was something so unbelievably special about the way that Holden grows into the role of becoming a dad and boyfriend (and more). The way he embraces this new adventure with Briar is so inspiring and one I wish everyone got to experience. Being able to understand how his feelings change throughout about becoming a dad is everything. It’s like watching how finding the right person, can change your entire life and how you view your future. Briar is actual perfection, as a whole.

I really loved getting to still experience the entire friend group throughout the story, because realistically that is their chosen family. I love the continuation of the banter, but also a swift kick in the butt when it’s needed. I really loved this Haven Harbor group!

This book was actual written heaven, it had me begging for more on every single page. It was such a story of embracing life’s unexpected and things turning out exactly how they are supposed to even if it wasn’t your plan. And as always, the spice is spectacular and delicious! A dirty talking Holden Banks… I’ll take 10, please.

Congratulations Lily Miller, on yet, another 5 star book and the perfect ending to
Haven Harbor… I guess I have to say goodbye now 🥺

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book. And omg, when I read the blurb and saw the tropes, I thought i would like it and signed up so fast and let me tell you I was right. This has been my favorite read of 2025 so far. This is the 1st arc I actually finished before release day, but I'm just now getting a chance to write my review. I loved Holden and Briar.
Holden and Briar were total opposites, but it worked. He had slight OCD and she was a messy disaster. They were so down bad for each other. I think Tucker knew something would happen from the beginning, but like as Holdens best friend, he probably knew that Briar would have him break his self impose sabbatical from women and dating. Briar just wanted a fresh start after a messy break up from a doomed relationship, but Holden just landed in her life.
She loved to drink tea before bed and he hates tea but would go next door to get her packs and have a cup ready and waiting for her. Swoon. 💖😂 I loved that even though Holden was allergic to cats (it's not even that he dislikes them), he would pet hers and didn't say ANYTHING about it until after she was moved in. 😂😂 Their family and friends were supportive and so well written as side characters really good.
Im a sucker for accidental pregnancy tropes books and this was definitely one of the best I've read. the way Holden would just take care if Briar was so touching. before they knew about oopsie baby and thought she was sick he was trying to help nurse her to health.
Though I would've liked to see an interaction with Aubrey but that's just me trying to stir the pot since we saw Justin.
I also liked that most of the chapter titles could be found in that chapter. I think just 2 I couldn't find, but that has nothing to do with how good the book was!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Sweet roommates to lovers story

This was my first book by Lily Miller, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. It’s book 4 of an interconnected series but can absolutely be read as a standalone.

Holden has taken a hiatus from woman and relationships. He’s been celibate and plans to stay that way. Enter Briar. Briar is moving back to town to get away from her controlling ex and finds out her apartment is underwater with no other vacancies the day she’s planning to move in. Holden happens to recently have a spare room and offers it to Briar against his better judgement.
These two are drawn to each other and the sexual tension is high. Holden avoids an invitation to an ex’s wedding. Briar agrees to be his fake date. Both are not ready to start anything and want different things. They decide friends, while fake dating, is the best thing for both and it’s sweet the way their friendship develops.
Holden may come across as grumpy but it’s the little things he’s constantly doing for Briar that make him downright dreamy. Briar is literally a ray of sunshine in his plain life. She brings color and mess to his home and light to his days.

When they give into one night of temptation, it ends up in a surprise pregnancy. That’s when the lines of fake dating and real become very blurry. I liked watching these two develop as they navigated the pregnancy. For two people that promised to always communicate, there’s a bit of miscommunication at the worst time. However, I liked the way they both handled it eventually. The interactions with their friends and family were terrific. There’s a strong group of supporting characters that add to this story. I look forward to more from this author.
