This series contains feelings after sex, good girls staying good (unless they don’t want to), good boys turning bad, great friends flipping sides, close lovers falling backwards, sassy mouths, stubborn jackasses, and a fight for the one, all in the name of f*cked up love.

But whose love is twisted?

In nine weeks Charlie Miller's life goes from high-rolling perfection to a crypt of sin. All it takes is one night, one blade, and her boyfriend, best friend and new friends all either end up as suspects or dead.

Nate Westcott, a pierced, tattooed, charismatic lawyer, is a man she can’t have—but a seductive danger she can’t ignore. He’s cocky, infuriating, brilliant and wrong, yet he makes her question whether she really is the good girl she wants to be or more like the selfish killer everyone thinks she is.

And her body wants him in ways she’s not supposed to crave.

As the weeks close in, cracks start forming in her everyday world of pro football golden boys, law school domination and New York City nightlife. Everyone she cares about is at risk because one of them doesn’t love Charlie back. In fact, they want her out of the way. Disposed of. Set up.

One more step, and all Charlie has to do is fall through.

Week 1 starts now.

WHO WILL SNAP?

Snapped is Ketley’s New Adult Novella series with all the romance you’d expect, but the killer—and lovers—that you don’t.

3 "I Love You" Stars!
"I don't need you in a dress," he said, pulling delicately on one of the straps. "Or in lipstick. Or tanned or impeccable or styled. You know what I need?" He stopped, waiting for me to meet his eyes again. When I did, he finished with, "You in sweats and your hair a mess. Your face all rosy because I just made you laugh--or something else...I need you. I love you, Charlotte Marie Miller."

This installment is basically the introduction to the characters so drama or anything really happens. It would have been rated four stars if Part 1 and 2 were combined but.. ;(

"Serial series" - hmm neither a short story nor a novel format so you cannot criticize that, in fact, nothing happens. OK, maybe to say nothing is an unfortunate choice of words, because the characters are introduced to us, we receive the premises of the game, but also, I could say, we get to know the "climax". Climax which takes the form of the prologue, maintains and continuously feeds the reader’s curiosity. This fact makes me consider, at this moment, that the author had been inspired when she chose the way to organize the Snapped book serial. When everything appears to tend towards a regular, simple romance, you will remember the prologue and that something serious should happen soon.

I also liked the fact that the story begins after a HEA worth of the romance readers’ daydreams. And, if you 've ever wondered what happens after, you will likely have the opportunity to learn it from Mrs. Ketley. Not in this first volume, but probably at the end of the series (the author's style is one that would make the story to be read in one gulp even if the volumes would have been longer).

Snapped, the first volume of the serial, will put you on fire, will irritate you –in the "good" sense of the word, but for your solace, you will not be alone. It seems that you will simmer together with the characters when you’ll have - probably- to choose between the bad boy who became good and the new - not necessarily - bad boy - let's say unconventional - who appears to arise the interest of the wrong person. For both partners who should have enjoyed what would have been their HEA, fate and “friends” seem to lay traps that will test their apparent perfect relationship. And above all, you should not forget the prologue!

Luckily, this series is fully completed and published, so you only have to read it in order to find out if the real HEA exists! I will. Enjoy!

I love it when a book starts with a glimpse of the end of the story. If it's done right, I'm hooked on a series straight away and Snapped was no different. The first chapter is about an event that happens in the future and it is very intense and I was instantly drawn into the story.

However after that first chapter, the story started to fall away for me. I sort of lost interest in it and didn't care where it was going. But I keep reading hoping it would pick up again.

There is a lot to take in; plenty of characters get introduced, relationship established and surroundings explained. Yet in all this there is still a mystery to each character, that I can see getting explained as the story develops over the duration of the story.

Towards the end of the story and mystery element becomes clear and some characters were at one I thought they first appeared to be. Will be reading the next one to discover more of this story.

This was a serial of seven books, so I will be doing mini reviews for each and every one! These are quick reads, at about 100 pages each. The first one sucked me in with an intriguing prologue where we didn’t know who had committed a crime, and whether it was the main character who did it! We were then thrown backwards to the beginning of the story.

I immediately fell in love with all the characters. Mostly, Charlie, our main character. I felt like I would be most like her, shying away from the limelight and struggling to cope with it. Laura was louder but generally a supportive friend although I think there might be more to Raegan than we know. Slade is such a good boyfriend as well ^.^

It does get a bit “everyday” sometimes, with nothing too eventful happening, but the writing style has me hooked. Love the law school and football themes, and even though the ending is abrupt, it is a serial. 4 stars.

The ARC of this book was provided by Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review. Instead of Book 1 it should be marked as part one. When looking the book up, I noticed that it was originally a trilogy but there are like six or seven books now! Personally, I am not a fan of books that do not let you know there will be a cliffhanger and you need to be invested in these characters for another 2-5 books!

The description of the book misleading as it makes it sound like it is from the male main characters point of view but it is written from his girlfriend, Charlie's perspective. It is the story of Charlie, who moves to New York to attend law school and follow her boyfriend, Slade, who is the rookie quarterback for the NY Giants. As they have been together just under a year and there is a lot of media focus on the hot shot new quarterback their lives are in the spotlight a lot. This is a huge part of the story as this causes issues with the two main characters, plus brings in addition secondary character that add to their dynamic.

I personally am not a fan of YA books, but due to the description I thought it would be more of a thriller. It had aspects of a thriller yet the youthful angst of YA romances. I guess I don’t think you need to have your entire life and love finalized by the time you are 22 and those are the parts of this book that I found frustrating. Yet the ending is what bothered me most. Had I known that this would be continued into several more books I am not sure I would have agreed to read it for review. The only saving grace is that it is on KU, so I can continue it if I feel like it later.

The Drama 👑Queen

Or How to Ruin💔 a Relationship By Jealous Nagging.

This book📑 made me crazy, but the prologue was great. It's an Adult murder mystery.
Then the author proceeded to delve into the relationship between, Slade🐺🏈, the famous pro quarterback, and his girlfriend, law student, Charlie.
The whole book wallows in Charlie's angst and low self esteem about her relationship with the handsome star quarterback.
Women💃 slip him their numbers, they hang on him if he and Charlie go out. He is instantly recognized wherever they go. His public life is forfeit.
Charlie can't deal with it. Every woman is suspect, even her new friend, especially her new friend. Charlie knows Slade🐺🏈 loves her but she can't let it go. The jealousy creeps into their life.

The book📑 ends in a cliffhanger, which I absolutely hate.
Too much drama from the character Charlie. Slade🐺🏈 just wants to play 🏈football and have a sweet girlfriend.

ARC Received from HG.
I also got The book with KU.

I was super lucky to receive a early copy of this book!

I was immediately intrigued by the description. And the cover. Sarah at Okay Creations always catches my eye!
I am not the biggest fan of novella series because I HATE waiting. It kills me, then I usually lose interest. But the description was enough to get me interested. I had to know WHO WILL SNAP. This series is in no danger of losing my interest. I promise that!

As soon as I began, I was hooked. The prologue is in the future. Most likley the end of the series where Charlotte, our main heroine, is being questioned at the scene of crime. It's vague enough you really have no idea what just happened.
I honestly have to say, Ketley Allison could not have crafted a better prologue. It leaves you with so many unanswered questions. I was glued to my iPad, needing to find out more.

Who was killed? Was someone actually murdered? Who did it? When? Why? How? What time is it?
The only think you know, is that Charlie (Charlotte) is alive.

Then we jump to weeks before. We meet Charlie and her BFF Laura. I love these two together and their friendship. They have a connection that only girls can have with that oner person closest to you. These two are hilarious together and I couldn't stop laughing at their banter and inside jokes. They go way back and share a difficult past that we know little about. They are just moving to NYC to follow Charlie's boyfriend. That right there shows you how tight these girls are. Laura moves across the country to be with her best friend.

We soon meet Jason Sladerman (Slade). He is Charlie's boyfriend and also QB for the Giants. I fell in love with him right away. He was perfect. Almost too perfect. He's romantic, sweet and doting. He seems wonderful right now. I find myself wondering if he is really that great, or is it a front. Everyone is a suspect to me.

We meet more characters like Reagan and her brother Nate . Every character is so different and lively. Reagan is sweet and a good friend to Charlie when she needs it. Nate is a bit mysterious. I was constantly trying to figure out who was going to be involved in this messy ending I know we have coming.
Reagan seems to have a thing for Slade (but he is NY heart throb. Everyone does) Nate seems to have a thing for Charlie (maybe, not sure). I felt like Sherlock Holmes over here!

Along with all of that, the dialogue is funny. The characters are amazing and lovable. Charlie is struggling with Law school and also trying to deal with the press that keeps hounding her. Laura is trying to find her own way in a big city. Slade is trying to be a winner. There is never a dull moment, but it is never too much.

My favorite part of this story is that it keeps you guessing. EVERYONE is a suspect. I was constantly analyzing every person we met. "Are you the killer? Are you cheating? Will you betray Charlie?"
Every time I thought I had it figured out, the slightest little detail would make me think otherwise. Then it would happen again. And Again. I can't remember being this excited about a story in a long time! I have about 6 different scenarios rolling around in my head.
At first, I thought the story was obvious but now I have no idea. I like to think that I am pretty good at guessing the plot twist or secrets to be revealed (because I read so much). I have no idea. I really don't but I will honestly be surprised when we finally reach the end of this series.

Um, wow, what the hell?! Snapped has me hooked!

Snapped starts with a Prologue, that when compared to the rest of the story, seems out of place. It tells of Charlie being interrogated by the police at the scene of a crime. As a law student, Charlie knows what she should and shouldn't say to a detective while being interrogated. But she's exhausted, and when she is informed by the detective that he knows she's been lying, she says she wants a lawyer. Yikes, what a beginning!

Then it moves into a time weeks before the Prologue, when she is moving in with her famous boyfriend, who's a now famous quarterback who's just been drafted into the professional football league. Charley and her best friend Lara have moved to New York so Charlie can be with Slade. Charlie and Lara are in college, (grad and law school), and their lives orbit from there. When Charlie meets a girl in on her classes, Reagan, they move into a tentative friendship. But, Reagan soon shows her true, weird and unstable, colors, and Charlie's unsure of her. Reagan's brother Nate, too, is weird, and unsettling for Charlie. She should really just wash her hands of both of them. But her soft heart is too kind for that, and she keeps them in her life, to her detriment. Soooo to her detriment, because by the end of Snapped, Reagan has truly snapped, and is intent on stealing Slade from Charlie. And Nate? Well he's not doing anything but tutoring Charlie in some of her law school classes, right?

The only things I was sure of by the end of Snapped are that a) I love Charlie. She's awesome and I think is going to end up being a tough, amazing lawyer. b) I don't trust Slade, at all. c) Reagan is batshit crazy, certifiably nuts, and evil and a complete psychotic bitch. d) I don't like Lara either. She's entirely too self-absorbed. And finally e) I want to know who the killer is, NOW! So bring it on Ketley Allison!

I received an ARC via Hidden Gems Books for an honest review.

The prologue was all it took to hook me. Seriously, if you don't believe that's all it'll take, try the sample on Amazon. I devoured every word and every page. At first everything seemed alright. Charlie and Jason were together again and all was good. When I first picked up on something that might not be right, it was from an unexpected source. And then surprises started rolling in. I wasn't sure who was friend and who was foe. When this first installment ended, I didn't stop to make notes, but immediately started reading Shade.

I made a new bookshelf for this serial. It's called "one word: SHIT." Because that's the reaction it got from me. Honestly, from the quarter point forward I had this rock in the pit of my stomach, because I was wary of everyone. Snapped makes you analyze every conversation, every look, because you know that one or more of these things are foreshadowing the end result. And shit if I'm not thoroughly invested in the outcome right now.

Charlie is just starting law school, and Slade, her bf, is beginning his professional football career. Snapped begins with Charlie speaking to a detective. We know that someone was killed, and Charlie could be a suspect... that's not made clear. The premise is set in this novella: we know the outcome, that someone will end up dead, and then we're sent to the past, with flashbacks building characters and providing background information on Charlie's life. It's basically a countdown to "week 12", the time of the murder.

A number of interesting characters come into play here. Lara, her best friend, or so we think. I hate hate hate it when the MC gets cheated on by her boyfriend, with her best friend... that's a sore spot for me as a reader, and I think Snapped is going in that direction. It's so hard for me to read for some reason. I can't help feeling the MC's betrayal.

I shoved open the French doors and went out onto the balcony.
There he was.
I’m not sure what delayed him, probably a phone call with his agent or one of his coaches, but Slade was just leaving our building now, his blue and white athletic gear a bright beacon in the midst of the dark clothing of the photographers. My gaze shifted to the left, and I noticed his other ornament.
Lara had an arm looped through his left arm, her hair gleaming with white flashes as he led her to the waiting SUV.
“Charlotte! Charlotte! Over here!”
I dropped down, ducking and peeking through the railings. I hoped, hoped, they hadn’t seen me.
“Charlotte! Slade! Side by side!”
“Before you get in the car! C’mon!”
I wrapped my hands around the railings, iron framing my view as I watched them. I rested my forehead between the cold columns, feeling like an inmate forced to see the world from the inside.
Neither Lara nor Slade said anything. Nor did they pause for a picture or even acknowledge the requests.
But, I thought, neither bothered to correct them.
They believed Lara was me, that Slade was bringing his girlfriend with him even though players weren’t supposed to consort with their companions prior to a game."

Lara raises some suspicions -- her affection, her willingness to live with Charlie and her boyfriend, her relationship with Slade, along with the million other hints that she and Slade were more than friends -- it all made my head hurt.
And at the same time, Slade, her boyfriend, raises some red flags. With Charlie, he's nothing less than caring and loving, always reassuring her of his love for her, supporting her, etc. But some things aren't as clear as they seem, and Slade seems a little too perfect to me, and a little too willing to take in the affections of women other than his girlfriend.

And then there's Reagan, Charlie's uber-creepy new friend, whom she met during a lecture. She takes an immediate liking to Charlie, even visits her at home and meets Slade, and doesn't hesitate to gush about how much she loves his "work". But she's really not just a starstruck fan. I sense some psychotic and obsessive tendencies from this chick.

“A phone lifted in my peripheral vision, and on instinct I looked away. I narrowly avoided Reagan’s elbow as she raised her arms to pull Slade in for a hug, and she completely obscured my view of the phone’s lens. She kissed him on the cheek before she let go, catching one of his dimples with her lips.
The camera lowered, and I blinked at Reagan, thinking what the hell was that? She couldn’t have timed that kiss with the phone or deliberately blocked me out of the shot. Could she?
Then I thought, why do I care? It was a simple greeting.
“Sorry,” Reagan said, laughing loudly before lifting her hand to the bartender and gesturing to Slade and I. “I’m super friendly sometimes. Especially when drunk.”
“Sorry for what?” I asked, unconsciously molding my arm against Slade’s and claiming my space.
“Nothing—I mean, I just thought…” Reagan took a long pull of her drink. “Never mind.” She slid her lips up and off the straw, smiling at Slade.”

Can you say CREEPY?? She does a lot of shit like this that just has my blood boiling.

Charlie is a bit naive here, choosing to see the best in people, but I can tell that she's starting to get suspicious about the people around her, and her relationship with Slade is strained by these strange circumstances (not to mention his obvious infidelity, that lying shit).

We also meet a potential love interest, Nate, who is also Reagan's brother (ew). He's a lawyer/drummer/bartender, miles different from Slade. And our Charlie seems to be a bit interested in him. It doesn't hurt that he actually takes the time to see her as a being separate from Slade and his "glory".

“Nate saw and commiserated with Slade over our state but humored us anyway, attempting to talk to us about classes, but he shut up as soon as Reagan started jeering at him about being a lame-o. Instead, he switched to asking me about myself—how I liked the city, what my favorite haunts were. I told him I traveled to games with Slade when I could and studied, for the most part, trying to fit into the brand new lifestyle I’d fallen into.
“No, but what about you?” Nate asked.
“What?” I held my drink closer to my lips.
“I mean, you’ve told me all about Slade, but you haven’t told me where you like to go. Or would enjoy going, given the chance.”
“Oh,” I said, chewing on my straw. A defensive tautness was building inside me, a stiffness that seemed all the worse with Nate’s pale green eyes beaming down on me.
“Slade’s journey has exposed me to more areas of this country than I ever could have traveled to on my own,” I said in answer to his question. “And when my time comes to be a lawyer, I plan to show him a different world, too.”
“Oh really?”
He was mocking me. Was he mocking me? The liquor blurred his face into one of disbelief and disdain.
“Maybe not in the traveling sense, but he’s interested in my path, same as I support his.”
“All right.”
“We balance each other out.”
“Okay.”
“Our differences…” My voice became louder, my hand gestures more forced. “They’re what brought us together in the first place.”
“Sure,” Nate said after a long draw from his beer.
And with that dismissive sip, unqualified anger seeped under my skin. “I’m not disappearing.”
The bottle lowered, his stare leveling with mine.”

She's definitely fighting off the attraction, but she's also thinking about what his words imply -- she has become so invested in Slade, his life, his career, his happiness, that she doesn't have time for herself. And that's red flag #55: Slade seems perfect and loving, but he is extremely self-consumed and interested in advancing his own desires, with little regard to those of his significant other.

I'm gonna be reading the second novella ASAP. I'm just starting to gain some bearing here. This series has me hooked, and I can't wait to find out what's really going on.

Snapped is my first Ketley Allison book and it's the first in this 7 part series. It's started out really good and I just want to find out what happens next and to discover the mystery. The story starts with Charlie Miller talking to the detective after the murder and then we go back to when she first moved to New York City nine weeks before. So many things can change in the span of those weeks.

Charlie moves to New York City to be with her boyfriend Jason Sladerman who is now the starting Quarterback in the NFL and for law school. Her best friend Lara Stalquist moves to New York City with her and she stays with Charlie and Slade until she can find a job and her own place. They have been together for a year and they are in love. They are both supportive to one another but in the end Slade's dreams seem to take priority. Their lives are completely different and the new people in them aren't always how they seem.

Charlie's a wonderful woman that spent most of her life with her head in the books. She's dreamed of going to Law School and has done so many things to make that come true. She hates the spotlight and she's very sensitive when the paparazzi and the media say things about her. She feels insecure and has moments of jealousy when she sees woman that look like they belong with her boyfriend more than she does.

She spent most of her college days with her head in the books. Her best friend Lara Stalquist grew up with her in Flagstaff, Arizona at the trailer court and their fathers worked together. Lara and Charlie are really different but they help one another and Lara does what she can to pull Charlie out into the real world and to have fun. Charlie and Slade have been together for a year and he was talented and popular at USC but now that he's in the NFL it's a lot bigger than that. They meet people in New York and have made some friends but some of them aren't exactly how they appear. Charlie's a great woman that is very sensitive and doesn't like being in the spotlight. She does what she has to do for the people she loves.

Wow, the suspense!!! The book starts with a prologue that will have you wanting to read the book as soon as possible. And the sneak peek of book 2 Sin has you all riled up as you have questions that won't be answered until you read the book.
You could feel Charlie's frustration and insecurity seeping out of the book. Is Slade telling her the truth? Is he cheating on her? What is Reagan up to? What does Nate want from her? And then there's Lara who doesnt like anyone and feels insecure when it comes to Nate and Charlie.....urgh questions questions
Cant wait to read the next book.

I was really excited when I read the prologue thinking that I was going to really dig in and get into this story...and then the prologue ended. The plot was decent enough, but I could not get past the juvenile behavior of many of the characters - especially Charlie. Things I'd expect more from someone in their late teens rather than their mid-20s. This eclipsed the storyline for me - which ended up being mostly predictable but did have a few unexpected turns along the way, thus earning the 2nd star instead of only 1.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy. Had I not promised a review, this would have landed on my DNF (did not finish) pile.

An excellent, intriguing read!
This book was so good! At first, you think you get a clear picture of what’s going to happen and who the characters are. But as you keep reading, things constantly change and characters that you thought you knew do some unexpected things that leave you with more questions. An excellent, intriguing read! Starting on the next book, Sin, ASAP!!

I received this book from Hidden Gems and l am volunteering to leave this review.

This is the 1st book in the Snapped Series and sets you up for the remainder. It’s a college turned profession sports romance novel, but is not your normal romance book. This has a twist that you don’t see coming and has you looking forward to the next book.

Not impressed at all.
Received this book as an ARC for my honest review. There is no ending you have to read the rest to get the ending. The first part of the book had me hooked but as I continued reading the main character was a immature 20-something and it drove me nuts as they all acted like they were 5. There was no connection between the characters and it was so slow for me.

A RELATIONSHIP IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT

Intriguing page turner. I couldn’t put it down. A great show of insecurity, malicious infatuation and misdirected love. All of the characters have faults that seem to feed on each other causing for an unprecedented cliffhanger.

From the first page of the story, I was hooked and eager to continue flipping the pages of my eARC. It really intrigued me how Charlie Miller ended up in that kind of situation. My reaction upon reading the entire prologue was … “What the freakin’ hell happened here?” The prologue is set in Week 9 and just whoa, what a way to start a story. It has an effect that you know readers will be clamoring for more. Clamoring to know every-freakin’-thing that happened in the story!

I just noticed that Snapped’s synopsis in Goodreads seems to be the synopsis for the entire Snapped Series. Basically, Snapped was just an introduction of the characters, glimpse of how they are as characters and their possible intentions to Charlie. At the beginning of the story (Week 1), we read about Charlie’s and her best friend, Lara’s experience of moving in to New York City and settling in at her boyfriend’s (Jason “Slade” Sladerman) place. She planned to move there because of two things: to be with her boyfriend and to attend law school. Lara was just there to tag along with her and find something exciting that she could possibly do with her life.

In law school, Charlie meets Reagan and the two of them instantly clicked. Reagan helped Charlie catch up with everything she missed during their orientation and that’s when she came to know about the fact that Charlie is Slade’s (NYC football player) girlfriend. Upon knowing that, Reagan starts gushing about it and blurts out that she knows stuff because her brother is actually a huge football fan. Niiiiiice.

We were also given a front row seat to the relationship of Charlie and her now big shot of a football player boyfriend, Slade. They’re such a cute couple and are really making everything work despite their individual aspirations in life. But being in the spotlight? Famous? Oh man, that just comes along with a string of drama and jealousy.

I don’t want to be spoilery in this review because Snapped is just over a hundred of pages, so it’s quite short and there isn’t a lot of stuff that I can freely talk about that wouldn’t be counted as spoilers. So, I’m keeping my mouth zipped about the story and would just comment on some parts that I love and didn’t.

We are treated with a number of flashback sequences, like the first time Slade and Charlie met at a party during their last year in college. Flashbacks are good for a story but with this book, I seem to get lost when it happens. The transition between present and past weren’t that smooth and it comes off as an abrupt move. I also felt that there were unnecessary flashbacks included or could’ve just been narrated instead of every line from that past conversation divulged to us, readers.

But what I love about Snapped is it makes my mind work overtime while reading it. Knowing the present – week 9 issue, I’m constantly on the lookout for the clues as to why things ended up that way and who are the people involved in that situation. It turned me into a very keen observer. I take note on the things that they do and tend to be too suspicious about it, even the simple gestures and comments that they make. Ha! I actually have doubts and suspicions over all of the characters.

Towards the end of Snapped, Nate (Reagan’s brother) entered the scene and brought in some possible drama to the series. And with his appearance in the story, things started to get real shady already and I got really doubtful about the intention of a character or two. I think I have an idea where this story will go … Oh I have a couple of theories in my head, right now.

Though, I wished that The Snapped series was just written as a single book and not divided into several parts. Things are just getting interesting in the story only to find out that there are no more pages to flip.

I reviewed this at MustReadBooksOrDie with my friend Shelley!

Shelley: You know what? Wow. This prologue grabbed my attention and just knowing that every word was guiding me to that scene, kept me turning pages. I was very eager to get to that stage--where I had answers to my questions. I actually STILL have questions because as I discovered this morning, this is book one (or part one) in a SEVEN-ish part series. You should know this going in so that you don't feel disappointed when the answers you seek aren't there at the end.

Courtney: <<>>is FREAKING RIGHT! The prologue is what I expected from this new, what I think of as a romantic suspense novella series, and just wow, it is so much more. The journey that we begin, is so very well set up, the writing - just wow, and the characters are all ones that I want to love and root for...but I just don't know who is going to burn me later!!!

Shelley: This first book does a good job of establishing characters:

Shelley: Charlie--she's still a mystery to me but she's dating an NFL rookie, going to law school, determined to make her own path and has old and new friends whom I am beginning to question. On top of that, she's s smidge insecure about how the outside world is portraying her in the media and this begins to spill into her daily life-- this seems to be a continuing problem. She goes from not caring to feeling awful about what they're saying. Courtney: I can't imagine living that life, but I can't help so early on just wanting her to thrive and own it and become this powerful woman. And then I remember, oh yes...she's only like 22 or something, so why should she be at that stage in part one...oh right. She isn't. She won't be. And oh my, did you remember the prologue...remember that. Shizzzz!

Shelley: Slade is Char's super awesome boyfriend. (Except he seems too perfect and I'm wondering if he's as innocent as he seems?!). He's very supportive of Char's dreams and seems to be naive about the motives of others--either that or he let's roll off of his back very easily. Courtney: SLADE. First, the name. Love his nickname...and all around just love him. I want to know so badly if he is going to screw me for loving him later, but right now...love this guy! I am of the opinion right now he doesn't let a lot get to him, and that is awesome for her. How things change quickly in the timeline we know...0 - 9 weeks..just whew. Wild ride will commence immediately. Hands and feet inside the vehicle please.

Shelley: Lara + Reagan + Nate--The "friends"--Lara is Char's oldest friend. She's mouthy and sassy and bossy and seems to want only the best for Charlie. Reagan is a new friend and I don't know her well (NO ONE DOES) and I'm very suspicious about her. Nate is Reagan's brother and there seems to be an immediate "connection" between Charlie and Nate. Courtney: I am not on team friends right now, and that is all I can say. Nate seems hot in all of his lawyery, pierced, and tatted yumminess...but...he sees Charlie for who she is, and ought to be IMO, so I am on Team-Nate-is-alright...for now..

Shelley: So as I said earlier, this book is just the set up. We begin to know the characters, and with the prologue in mind, everyone makes me suspicious. Courtney: Girrrrl, me too. This is perfect New Adult goodness, in slightly smaller packages. I love it. And I recommend for the price (99 cents a piece) you should jump on this band wagon with me because it is AWESOME. AND I CAN'T STOP SHOUTY-CAPSING ABOUT IT...JUST ASK SHEL!

There are very few serials out there that I can say that I absolutely love. Serials are hard to write, as we have such high expectations in a very short amount of content. When I read a short story, I find I can be a bit more critical than with a full length novel in terms of what I’m looking for. With this new from author Ketley Allison, I was left completely destroyed. Not only did her writing style wow me, but the plot and the characters are addictive, seductive and dammit - just flipping GOOD. Snapped is the first book in what promises to be a series that will have readers begging for more.

Charlotte Miller is not a supermodel. She doesn’t have movie star good looks, and that’s a fact she’s more than okay with. A smart, studious girl, paying attention to her looks isnt a priority for her; even though she is beautiful. I found her character to be well rounded with likable traits and just the right amount of crazy that would come with dating the most sought after athlete in the professional world of football. Oh yes, Charlie has what every girl drools over - the delectable Jason “Slade” Sladerman. While dating someone as gorgeous as him would no doubt cause little snippets of insecurity and jealously to sneak in from time to time, add in the vultures of the media and it becomes a completely different world.

Slade is a man with dreams. Dreams that are finally coming true as his career skyrockets and he moves to NYC with his beautiful Char at his side. She completes him like no other, she’s his rock. With the pressure to perform crushing in from all sides, and the appearance of two new characters in their lives, Slade finds balancing their once normal lives and his career as a ball player much harder than it used to be. What I loved about him was the way he made Char feel, there wasn’t a part of this book that went by where he wasn’t showing her how special she was - or how he needed her in his life. A man that can put his feelings on display like that, to me thats a man worth fighting for.

The prologue of this book grabbed me right off the bat, held my attention and has left me dying in anticipation. The twists, the intrigue, the mystery of this series is alluring and tempting beyond belief. With the introduction of Reagan and Nate, comes the added complication of not knowing who to trust. Betrayal lurks in the dark corners, just waiting to snap its jaws and devour all involved.

This first book in the series will frustrate the hell out of you with its ending and have you frantically clicking the one-click button for the next installment. The fiery connection between Char and Slade will have you fanning yourself and the suspense will leave you tearing your hair out! So tell me, are you ready to be Snapped?

***** This is part 1 of a serial, there is no ending per se. Also, this is a mystery serial, I can't divulge much without spoiling, so the review is going to be brief.*****

Part one of the series explains vaguely about the crime someone committed and then goes back nine weeks, and start telling the story from the first moment Charlie's arrives at New York city.

It mainly introduces the characters, gives a brief outlook at their day-to-day life and starts throwing shadows at almost everybody. Nobody is trustworthy, everybody is suspect of a sort of bad act, even though from the outside it all seems like the perfect life, with the perfect friendship, and the perfect couple.

What I like most about Snapped is that nobody is lily white perfect. Like all of us, they all make mistakes. They feel very real and the story unfolding is very believable. I also enjoy the author's writing style. She has created a very cohesive plot, and smartly has thrown in the hook, and the reader ends up reading it in a frenzy, wanting to know something for real, instead of speculating about everything.

At the end of book one you don't know much, you have lots of questions and you are ready to jump to book two. All to be expected, and very nicely delivered by Ms. Allison.

You may read this because you like short fun reads; you should read this, if you like to solve puzzles; you MUST read this if you would like to embark in a journey of romantic mystery filled with loud laughs!

Charlie and her best friend, Lara move to NYC. Charlie is working towards being a lawyer and adjusting to life in NY as the girlfriend of a rising star. Jason 'Slade' Sladerman is Charlie's boyfriend and he's finally made it to the big leagues with his football career.

I enjoyed Charlie's character . She's the girl next door type and the author really allows you to empathize and connect with her. Lara, the best friend, is her total opposite. Boisterous and chic, she seems to compliment Charlie. That's not to say I didn't find her a little suspicious (because I am trying to figure out a mystery while reading this, right). Now let's talk about Slade. He's thoughtful and caring, humble and sweet. An all around great boyfriend to Charlie. He's almost too perfect. Like you're sitting-and-waiting-for-him-to-mess-up-but-you-really-don't-want-him-to perfect. It's an interesting dynamic.

There's a possible love triangle introduced so it will be interesting to see where this all goes. The secondary characters seem to be important to the mystery of the book so you really try to sit and dissect absolutely every scene they're involved in due to the prologue.

Which brings me to the prologue - wow. It really sucked me in. The prologue is set in week nine as Charlie is being questioned by police. Then we start right off at week 0 from there. It was interesting because I was expecting to get more WTF-ery in the first book because of the prologue but no such luck. The synopsis for the book is a bit misleading as I'm assuming it's more for the entirety of the series opposed to just this book alone.

The first book in the series is more of an introduction to the characters and the plotline. While I enjoyed the story the book cut off in a very weird place for me. It just seemed like this series may be a full sized book cut into three parts as a sales thing and that bugged me. It didn't end as a cliffhanger, it just ended like there was a missing chapter (or two or three...) I know this is supposed to be a series of books but it seems closer to a serial/novella and should be stated as such.

Who is going to snap?? That is the question that is killing me now, even after I finished this book. Yeah, the story just ended unexpectedly!! But not a cliffhanger. OR the kind of cliffhanger that most of us hate. And I think I would have preferred a crazy cliffhanger over that. I still have so many unanswered questions!!! But, lucky for me, I have the handy dandy next part to get started on immediately.

So, the synopsis makes you think all kinds of things! That synopsis hooked me immediately. But, the synopsis had nothing on the prologue. I was addicted on page one!!! The mystery behind who is going to do it, is driving me crazy!! And then, there are many points in the story that I thought I knew where things were going, but now I am not so sure. It really is messing with my head.

So that prologue I mentioned. It seems that it’s set in the future and something bad has happened…murder, I am assuming. But then we are immediately sent off to the past, without any explanations…GRRRR!!! I know, or am hoping, we get answers soon. Patience is not one of my best qualities 

Oh, wait, I just got all excited about the plot of this story that I forgot to mention the character. LMAO!! So, the story is about Jason Sladerman (AKA Slade) and Charlotte Miller (AKA Charlie or Char). And a few other characters which I am sure will have a HUGE part in whatever has happened or will happen. Raegan being one of them and she is fucking CRAZY!!!! And Nate (Raegan’s brother), I am totally digging him ;) I have high hopes for him. And last but not least, we can’t forget Lara (Charlie’s best friend), she is hilarious!! But I’m still a tad bit unsure about her loyalty, but that could just be me.

Have I rambled enough?!? Yes, I know I did, but this mystery really had me fired up and, of course, I still am since I don’t know what happened. My only complaint about this story is the time line. I had a hard time keeping up with how much time has passed and the chapters got a little confusing with that. But, as you can see, it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of this story.

I've never been one for novellas, however when I read the synopsis of SNAPPED, a new series by Ketley Allison I had a feeling it would be something I would enjoy. While writing this book review I am currently on book 3 and have to say my opinion of the series has changed somewhat as I've worked my way through the story (I'm currently at week 6).

SNAPPED starts at the end of the story, we find our leading lady in a really bad situation and being accused of murder. We know very few details and have no idea what has happened or why. The story is told solely from Charlie's point of view and I admit at first I didn't really like her. As the books have gone on, I have come to like her a lot and dislike other characters. I don't really want to go into the other characters as I want you to read this book and make up your own minds. Each character has more than one side that is all I'm saying and one character who I absolutely loved in this book, I now can't stand in book 3 (SIN).

Ketley has a unique writing style and a way of dragging you in to the story and keeping you there. You feel compelled to keep reading and find out what is happening next, even though you may not like the course of the story. As a review is based on 1 book, in this case SNAPPED I have only given it 3 stars. However, when I finished reading SNAPPED I went straight onto Amazon and bought SHADE (Book 2). As soon as I finished SHADE, I then had to wait a few days for the release of SIN. So, as you can tell, the mystery of this tale does get a lot better and I ask you not to judge the book harshly by my review. SNAPPED sets you up with the characters and the first few weeks. It is a little slow I felt and I wanted more, but with SHADE and SIN I have been given too much and now I don't know who SNAPPED!

I gave SNAPPED 3 of of 5 stars, it was closely to a 3.5. But, I will say if I was reviewing it as a series and from what I've read so far I would give it 4/4.5 stars. I definitely recommend this series and would like to add Ketley Allison has found a new fan in me.
