Andrea Faye Gibson was an American poet and activist. Their poetry focused on gender norms, politics, social justice, LGBTQ topics, life, and mortality. Gibson was appointed as the Poet Laureate of Colorado in 2023.

this was my favourite collection of poetry when i was obsessed with spoken word aged 15
i just relistened to it for the first time in many years aged 22 and it’s still as perfect as i can remember

by far my favourite ever collection of poetry, beautiful written down but beyond words when spoken by the author and accompanied by acoustic music on their album copy.

Downloaded the audiobook version last night and basked in it uninterrupted, only stopping to rewind and listen to certain phrases again. Andrea Gibson writes like fire: warm, comforting, with the inherent potential to consume and destroy in a matter of seconds. Gut-twisting, heart-convulsing, beautiful truth.
