REVIEW

MEET THE BUGS is a wonderful, educational, fun book for children to learn about bugs. 18 of the most common bugs, 17 insects and 1 spider, with illustrations to go along with them. The illustrations were wonderful and the author added rhyming text which made it even more fun and interesting for the young readers. Another cute thing the author did was give some of the bugs girly names. They all weren't just boys names. I felt it was an extremely novel way to introduce bugs to little ones. Sometimes the children are afraid of the bugs they might find in the back yard while they are playing. With this book, it shows that the bugs are not to be feared, you just have to be careful around some of them. Some bite and sting like the centipede and the tick. There are those that children need to be told of to be careful of, not scared of. They are just another one of God's creatures put here on earth for a reason. There are bugs that we all enjoy watching like the ladybug and the firefly. Catching fireflies at night in a jar used to be fun when I was a child. Watching them light up and glow. Then the reader is introduced to a couple we don't particularly care for, the termite that likes to eat wood and the mosquito that likes to bite you and leave an itchy.

The author wrote a lovely illustrated and fun way to learn abouat the everyday bugs we meet in our back yards. Wonderful book for children to learn about BUGS.

I would recommend this book to every adult and child to read and re-read as a reminder about our everyday bugs. A book that is worth keeping on the child's book shelf for another day of reading.

I was given a complimentary copy of MEET THE BUGS from the author Mark C. Collins for my view of this book. No other compensation took place.

Meet the Bugs! – Mark C. Collins
Genre: Children’s Picture Book
Source: I received a copy in exchange for my honest Review

My Thoughts:
Author Mark C. Collins has created a book that allows parents to share the knowledge of bugs with their youngest child. The author/illustrator has created a set of wonderful pictures that make learning about the bugs fun and not scary. His poetry about each bug gives the reader some information about each one. It may be what they eat, where they live, or how they protect themselves. This is a wonderful book that takes the fear of bugs out of learning about them. The charming pictures give a fairly accurate depiction of the bug in a cute and friendly way. The thing that made me love this book was the actual information that is in each poem about the bug. This is a must read book.

A cute book about different bugs in the world – I love the fact that they are all named making them seem friendlier to the kids that read about them which is good. I hate seeing kids smashing bugs just minding their own business and crossing the side walk – if they are inside the house go ahead and smash them or take them outside if you can, but if outside leave them alone that is where they are suppose to live –

The illustrations are fantastic and I think any adult and child would love to read about the fun bugs that surround us every day outside and in – great rhymes that add to the illustrations – I think this is a great book for a parent to read and enjoy with their children.

Give it a try with your kids today – this book looks great on my Kindle Fire.

We received this book to give an honest review.

Loved the rhyming within this book. The picture of each "bug" on the page was very friendly looking. Hopefully kiddos do not think that bugs are that friendly. This is a great read for the toddler kids on up. The pictures are done with a lot of vibrant colors, the rhyming goes with the bug.

The only thing I would have to say is for the bug Earwig the author says they do not bite. I have heard that they do, so maybe I would have changed that to something to the effect of they could bite if messed with or they can fly and bite so beware. But other than that this was a very silly and enjoyable book.

Brightly colored pictures and rhythmic rhymes; everything a pre-schooler would love. I can see parents being begged to read it over and over again! I don't agree with the age suggestions in the synopsis, it is too simple of a book to hold the interest of children over four or five years of age, but I would also add two year olds to the recommendations.

Nice little rhyming book introducing kids to a number of common insects, accompanied by nicely done cartoon drawings for each.

Starts off with a poem about insects, then gives us one for each critter.

The kids should enjoy this one.

Last night, I let my eldest son read this to his 2 little brothers and what a night it was! They actually quivered with excitement as they met Antonio, Dusty, Pete, Blink and the others, but they were most especially thrilled with Webster! Me, I actually like Caitlyn the caterpillar, because she's gonna turn into a butterfly soon! Anyway, I don't know what it is about bugs that interest them, but as far as I could see with my own eyes, they were grinning from ear to ear while reading this rhyming book. They mostly liked the bugs that don't bite and those that were colorful and looked pretty. My kids actually had a hard time picking which bug was their favorite!

Mark Collins is a gifted writer and artist. I was impressed with his artistic illustrations and how he came up with the rhyming words with ease. My sons know that most bugs are pests and are actually afraid of them, but after reading the book, they marveled at the revelation and information they learned about them. Thank you Mark Collins for this very helpful and entertaining book!

This is another great illustrated rhyming story book for kids (and their parents) to enjoy reading (try making a different voice for each bug - it's FUN).
You'll be surprised how many bugs this little book covers.

Do you think you know your bugs? After reading this, you certainly will. This wonderfully illustrated book launches into a parade of the funniest, cutest and sassiest bugs around. Through fun rhymes, each one is introduced in a way that will keep kids smiling. This isn't a story, but rather flips from one bug to the next like a game of flashcards. But this also allows kids to revisit their favorite ones over and over again without having to mess around with a story inbetween. This is a must have for all those tiny bug lovers out there.

Adorable and hilarious bugs entertain the reader with charming rhyming poems that describe their purpose. Just as author illustrator Mark C. Collins promises "Bugs come in all different shapes and sizes. Bugs of the world are full of surprises!" From ticks to fireflies, bees to earwigs, the delightful illustrations will tickle your child's funny bone. An enjoyable book for children to learn as they laugh.

This was a great book!! It was fun to read, still had information about each bug, and had great illustrations. I am excited to use this book in my classroom! Kids will love the pictures, and the names of the different bugs. They will also be learning. Even better, it can show kids poetry too. Wonderful read! And Highly recommended!

Given To Me For An Honest Review

This is the cutest of books. It introduces children to bugs. But it does so in a fun and colorful way. The bugs are named and in fun terms they are described. The colors are bright and the drawings are very eye catching. Any child would like to add this to their book shelf. It is a really fun way to learn about bugs. I highly recommend this book.

Meet The Bugs! by Mark C. Collins is lovely little book about insects. On every page there's a cute drawing with a little poem about each bug, explaining a little bit about each one. The each bug is essentially made into a character and many of them are downright adorable! The illustrations are great, as are the poems. 5 stars!

Super cute book that introduces kids to insects through short poems and cartoon style drawings. Each poem names the insect (and character) and gives a few facts about it. Our entire family enjoyed it, and I immediately searched for other books by the same author.

Meet The Bugs!
Colorful children's book showing all kinds of bugs. They each get their own page that includes a color photo and facts about them.
The book is all about sharing space with them. You don't like them, they don't like you but be kind.
