Another very nice collection of short columns by De Jong, this time all non-fictional and about cycling. As I've written before he perfectly captures my love for the sport and brings me back to several interesting moments that I saw live back then and thus relived in the last couple of days. Let's hope he will bring us many more columns and short stories about the sport that I love the most.

Vermakelijk boek over wielrennen en de romantiek ervan aldus De Jong. Hij beschrijft het wel mooi.

P.S.

Excellent (Dutch-language) collection of short, snappy columns about the pro cycling circus of the last five years. A few pieces capture the author's own experiences during his rides in the Dutch lowlands. de Jong's tone is caustic and his observations brim with dry wit. But his reverence for the sport shines through everywhere. The book can be read in afternoon but many of the pieces are worth revisiting. Recommended.
