A deliciously lovely short and sexy read!
Newly weds Dan and Maddie are on their Honeymoon. He's everything she could ask for in a husband so everything should be idyllically perfect, but it’s not. Something's not quite working for Maddie. She needs to address it but how?
She needs to trust Dan with every last part of her.... Share her desires, her cravings and make him understand how she feels.
She felt unsure.... Would Dan be prepared to indulge her in her fantasies??? Could they be his desires too?
Is she risking her one true love?
Can't Hold Back is written from the POV of both Maddie and Dan. I found it to be an unexpectedly delicious and captivating read that sucked me in from the start. I really enjoyed discovering more about the relationship of Dan and Maddie. It’s their honeymoon so you’d expect everything to be hearts and flowers but NO. Maddie has edgier desires that Dan is unaware of. How will she tempt him into being more the lover she wants? Strong fearless and wicked?
A fabulous addition to the River Bend series and one that can be enjoyed as a stand alone. However, I'd thoroughly recommend enjoying this New Adult series from book one!

3.5 - "Sometimes a girl just needed her hair pulled and her ass spanked." Stars!
Can’t Hold Back is a quick and sexy novella, giving us the lowdown on Dan and Maddie’s 6 day Honeymoon in Cabo. Being away from the sometimes insular town of River Bend, where everybody knows everybody’s business, Maddie decides to take things into her own hands and explore the sexual side of their relationship, by seeing if she can pull a more dirty dominant Dan out in the bedroom!
She trusted him more than anyone. Loved him more than she thought possible. And craved him in a way she’d never any man before.
Can’t hold back is the perfect mix of story and sexiness for a novella of this length. I found myself chuckling at points, especially at a certain OTT surfing instructor. Although, it is safe to say some of Maddie’s plans work better than others, I loved this couple in Can’t Shake You, and it was great to spend a little more time with them.
And Dan, well we get too see a side to him, that literally has your panties voluntarily dropping round your ankles, without any help from your hands!

Maddie has been keeping secrets when it comes to intimacy. She wants more and doesn’t know how to tell Dan. So she waits until their honeymoon to try to tease him and it backfires. I’m pretty much going to leave it there. You had your whole relationship and engagement to talk and didn’t and waited until after you were married? And then…was this really an issue? Just went about it the wrong way.

Dan's thoughts are of a typical man's on their honeymoon, "was she really turning down more honeymoon sex? "Okay. How about a quickie before we eat?" Also Dan doesn't like when his wife gives herself pleasure when he's a ready and willing participant, "there is no excuse for making yourself come when I was right here, my c*** hard and aching to do it for you." He also likes to make sure him and his woman are on the same page, "you wanna try something new? Or make it a habit? Tell me. Or shove me down on the bed and take it. Believe me, baby, I'm not gonna complain." This was a quick naughty read for if you're standing in a long a** line at the grocery, and it was so enjoyable.

Can't Hold Back is a novella in the River Bend series by Molly McLain and was released after the first book. Readers were introduced to Dan and Maddie Hudson in Can't Shake You as a then-engaged couple and Josh Hudson's brother and Carrie Brandt's best friend, respectively. In this novella, they're in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on their honeymoon and while things are hot and heavy between the newlyweds, Maddie wants something more from Dan but is afraid of how he'll react if she tells him.
In their relationship, it's always appeared as if Dan takes a backseat to Maddie, indulging her when she goes a bit hyper and aggressive. Maddie has never complained and loves Dan unconditionally, but now that they're husband and wife, she wants Dan to be the more dominant one. While she doesn't tell him what it is she wants, she decides to push him into action by flirting with a surf instructor. Dan may be turned on in the beginning but when the surfer takes things too far, Dan loses it.
Maddie's plan goes terribly awry when Dan walks out on her and can't seem to bear looking at or even being near her. For someone who never had a problem saying what was on her mind, Maddie's decision to not be open and honest with Dan about her sexual wants throws what was an amazing honeymoon into a tailspin. Though they've been together for a few years, it appears that there are still some things that Maddie and Dan both need to be open and honest about, especially since their marriage is just beginning.
Can't Hold Back can be read in less than an hour's time and as a standalone, though I think it's best read after the first novel simply because both Josh and Cassie make appearances here. I wasn't a big fan of Maddie's in the first book and her lack of communication skills here had me raising an eyebrow but I did warm up to her by the time I got to the end. Dan is likable and his reaction to what happened with Maddie was realistic, which I fully appreciated. All in all, this was a pretty good novella and it gets four stars. ♥

"Can't hold back" is a Novella style short story that takes place after book one "Can't Shake you"
This book was a great taste to keep you interested in the River Bend characters until the release of book two.
The story focuses on Maddie and Dan who we have met previously, Maddie always seems fun and adventurous and I always wondered how she kept it together with Dan who by all purposes is a straight arrow lawyer.
OMG OMG what the eyes of River Bend do not see!! This couple has hot and sexy chemistry coming out the Yazoo, and this isn't a new couple either while Just married they have been together 4 years.. However Dan still looks at her like she hung the stars (swoon)
Love and Lust is not the problem, but Maddie wants something she can't express in words to her husband - to be dominated, treated like a hot blooded woman and not a delicate flower because you know every now and then a girl just likes her hair pulled!
Instead of just telling him her desires she sets about using the local surf instructor as a pawn of showing Dan exactly what she wants.
I love Dan I really do! He is a man that's hot for this woman and will do anything for her to keep her happy. I felt bad for him at times as he was clueless to Maddie's actions. When in reality all she had to do was talk to him. Like most women we get lost in our own head in which a man could never understand lol.
Dan is a keeper and this is a couple that has it all their love is solid and they will last the test of time - the prying eyes, rumors and gossip of small town River Bend can do nothing to shake them.
Molly McLain has a winning series on her hands with characters bursting with personality and I can't wait to keep reading..

Dan and Maddie. We learned some about them in the first book in the series from Carissas point of view, but I only wish we had known more before this one. I wish Maddie said more about how she felt about her friends engagement and the was a prologue of a chapter of how they met. Otherwise I did like seeing them as a couple and hearing about their honeymoon drama.

Quick and hot!
Wow. Wish the culmination was as long as the lead-in, but this ended up pretty darn hot! I only wish it hadn't been ignited by Maddie going way too far. There had to be a way to get there without that line being crossed.

One line to describe Can't Hold Back? Hot as hell.
We first met Maddie and Dan in Can't Shake You and I for one loved them instantly. Maddie was a wild one and Dan seemed like the quiet and serious one. They made a good contrast. Not that they are married and on their honeymoon in the exotic and heavenly Cabo, Maddie wants more. And she wants it from her husband.
Maddie was never disappointed with her love life. In fact, she was quite happy. But she was afraid to voice what she really wanted. Now that they are married, Maddie is sure she can tell Dan what she wants from him. And now moreover there is not much of a chance that he'll run.

All Dan wants to do on his honeymoon is make love to his beautiful and sexy wife all day and all week long. But when Maddie starts acting a bit differently, Dan can't really figure out what is it exactly that she wants. She is going all hot and cold on him. And when he sees her with the Puerto Rican surfing instructor, he is not very happy. Especially when he starts touching his wife.
Maddoe thought, seeing her with another guy, Dan would get all caveman and toss her over his shoulder and have his wicked way with her. She never expected him to walk away with a look of utter betrayal on his face. All Maddie wanted was for her husband to get on with his dominant side, and now she fears he might just start regretting his vows.
Can't Hold Back was really well written, fun, sexy and hot novella. I thought Josh and Carissa were hot, but then I did not know the full extent of Dan and Maddie's relationship. They were explosive together and I wanted more of them. My only complaint with this book, it was too short. But otherwise, it was a great book. I was a nice way to keep us interested in the River Bend people and their lives. Looking forward to more from Molly.

Dan and Maggie are on their honeymoon in Cabo, and this seems to be prefect time to let Dan in on Maggie's sex desires. But, unfortunately Maggie doesn't know how to tell him, so she thinks that she can bring it out of him. That ends up very bad, with Dan walking out on her, after letting her know how mad he is for letting some guy kiss on her neck, then stormed out the door left her there. She ran after him, now she knows how stupid her plan was and all she wants is to tell him how sorry she is and to forget the stupid idea. When she wakes-up after drifting, she gets up and crawls between his legs an hold him while he starts to speak.

I loved this book! I was a bit critical in my review of the first book in this series because the synopsis I was given of the book implied to me that it was going to be a traditional romance, not one with as much heat and strong language as it had. Ms. McLain adjusted her synopsis of the first book to let prospective readers know better what type of book they are getting.
For this book Ms. McLain lets you know right up front what you are getting:
"Warning: This book contains über confident, dirty talking hero and a heroine who isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of the bedroom—or the beach. For readers 18+".
While this was a relatively short book - advertised as a novella actually - it really packed a punch. It was hot, sexy and kept me glued to my e-reader until the very end. While this is part of the River Bend series I actually think it stands quite well on its own and there is no cliffhanger!
I really look forward to reading the next book in this series.
If you are looking for a quick sexy read you won’t go wrong with this book.

For this book Ms. McLain lets you know right up front what you are getting:

While this was a relatively short book - advertised as a novella actually - it really packed a punch. It was hot, sexy and kept me glued to my e-reader until the very end. While this is part of the River Bend series I actually think it stands quite well on its own and there is no cliffhanger!
I really look forward to reading the next book in this series.
If you are looking for a quick sexy read you won’t go wrong with this book.

This novella is the second book from Molly McLain in her sweet and sexy River Bend Series. We met Maddie and Dan briefly in Can’t Shake You. Now, newly married, they are on their honeymoon in Cabo. Dynamic and in charge in the courtroom, attorney Dan Hudson is much more reserved in the bedroom. Even though they've been together four years, Maddie wants more of the courtroom Dan in bed but can’t find the words to tell him. Instead, she concocts a plan she hopes will help him figure it out for himself. But when her plan backfires, she fears their happily ever after may be over before it begins.
This short story is hot enough that you will read it at one sitting. It can be read as a stand-alone although this couple is introduced in Can’t Shake You. Ms. McLain is a talented new author and her first two books are shining examples of it. I would recommend her to anyone looking for small town, steamy romances. I loved it!

Well my oh my...
Honestly I didn't think Dan had it in him.
And Maddie girl you gt on with you bad self...lol
Okay so here we have a couple who in River Bend 1 we got to know a little about. Mostly Maddie because she was the Heroine in book 1 best friend. n being the lawyer who seemed so straight forward and set forth.
Take this couple to Mexico where they are finally able to break free and you get a whole helluva hot!
Maddie never let her true desires be known she wanted Dan to take change and she wanted the desperate heated desire and passion to burn through. She needed it so badly from Dan. So when they are face to face with the temptation and Maddie lays it all out will Dan find his inner Dominating man that Maddie craves or will he simply think his wife has lost her mind?
I must say that River end is a series I will be following. I really enjoy these characters and can't wait for the next book...Bring it on Molly I need more.

Fantastic novella from the River Bend series.
We first met Maddie and Dan in the first book, engaged and just wedded at the end of it. This novella follows them on their honeymoon, where Maddie is desperate to bare all her deepest desires to her new husband, but is unsure and worried about how to broach the subject. Maddie and Dan have been together for four years and are a solid couple. Dan is a loving and caring guy, and Maddie is his whole world. Maddie wants more though…usually the aggressor in their sexual relationship, she wants Dan to show his dominant lawyer side in the bedroom, and the methods she uses ends up backfiring on her. Can she make Dan understand what she needs from him?

Wow, This little novella sure did pack a punch! After reading the first book in the River Bend series I was eager to read more from Molly and she did not disappoint! We met Dan and Maddie in the first book and in this one we get to join them on their honeymoon. "Can't Hold Back" is super sexy and has an interesting storyline that kept me turning the pages. What really surprised me was the depth of emotion that came through in such a short read. Now the wait is on for Tony's story!!

this is their story continuing on from when they got married and go on their honeymoon back to where it all started. what do you do when you want hotter steamy naughty sex but am to afraid to let your husband know in fear he will get upset and it will ruin your marriage? maddie flirts and dances with another man just to see if dan will become aggressive and bossy like he is in the courtroom when he takes control will it end badly or will they work it out in the end.
its a must read for those who needed more dan and maddie its defantly worth reading and will keep you capture right till the end buy it today.

received an ARC for review
Not having read book one, I was curious if it would be an issue. I feel it was not a problem and that this short story is probably like an epilogue to that story and getting you ready for the next couple in book two. All that said I feel if you marry someone before telling them you're desires you are doing an injustice to not only you but you partner and your marriage.
Maddie got on my nerves a bit with this whole not telling Dan let him figure it out.
overall a good quick little read that does not need to be read in order. Maybe I would have been more sympathetic to Maddie had I read book one first.

I received this as an ARC. Oh my golly Miss Molly!!!!! Holy Hotness! I was not expecting this. But absolutely wonderful. You could feel both Maddie & Dan's sexual frustration. I loved this short, fun Honeymoon tryst. What girl wouldn't want to be controlled sensually by her hot aggressive lawyer husband. It was great to see more depth of these characters. This story makes you want to know more about the people who make up the community of River Bend. a MUST read! You've done it again Molly, Great piece of work, So excited for Tony's story.

2nd read: Yeah, just like the first read, was not really impressed with this one and I found it quite silly plot wise, like the intrigued. It is just smutty smutty smut with an excuse.
1st read: This is a novella and it's just a sexy read. Although familiar with the characters from the first book, I just wasn't that interested into them - I did not care about them in the first book, but their honeymoon was really nice, although I am ready to see what the other characters in River Bend are up to.
