Holding Onto You Losing my best friend was the worst feeling in the world. I always wondered what she was doing and how she was doing but I never went after her. Now, four years later, I am back in North Carolina and find myself longing to see her smile and feel her touch.
One day, she finally sees me and our eyes connect. The connection is still there. She can still make me weak at the knees and she still holds my heart and soul.
Things are different. She is dating my teammate Kyle and I hate him. Not for dating my Sophia but for being the worst person imaginable. But I vow to make her mine again. Welcome to my mind and life. My story about finally seeing Sophia again and how I will always be holding onto her.

I liked the idea behind the plot, two best friends who were secretly in love reunited after four years but God the writing was horrible. I read book 2 first because that's how the box set was set up (which is really weird) but I could not get through the first book. The stories were very disorganized and the narration was boring. I prefer dialogue between the characters instead of the narrator simply saying certain things were discussed. Really disappointed with books.
I've had this set sitting in the dark corners of my kindle for almost a year now (hanging my head in shame). When one of my fellow book lovers told me that I should read some of S. Moose's work, I was glad to see that I already has some. Typically YA is not my cup of tea but I gave it a shot anyway.
The first two books follow the story of Adam and Sophia. I liked the premise of friends to lovers but something was missing for me. Sophia was so back and forth that I just wanted to knock some sense into her (more than once or twice). I liked Adam a lot. He knew he messed up and when he got the opportunity to make up for it, he went for it. I liked his patience and understanding when it came to dealing with Sophia and all of her issues. But I also liked that he knew when to assert himself with her. There were times when he laid it out for her and made her make a tough decision- it was necessary and helped move things along. The whole abusive ex-boyfriend was an interesting addition to the plot. Those scenes had me holding my breath. There is some pretty graphic and gruesome details given so if abuse is a trigger for you, then this might not be a good one for you to read. That being said, I liked how things wrapped up for Adam and Sophia.
The secondary characters in their story were actually my favorite part. I was happy that they got their own book, the third in the box set. It follows the story of Connor and Erin. These two are complete opposites and balance each other well. He is shy and reserved and she is bold and outgoing. I was able to connect with them and their story really well. The start of their story is somewhat predictable. Yet the rest of it takes a twist that I didn't see coming. It really pulled at my heartstrings. I really liked how what could've torn them apart bonded them together. Erin and Connor are the proof that if you want it bad enough, and work for it hard enough then you can have it.
The box set as a whole was ok. There were parts in each story that felt rushed while others gave me more than I needed. It could also use a few edits. That being said, those errors didn't detract from the stories as a whole. If you're looking for a book with equal parts angst, drama and deep, unrelenting love then this is the one for you.
I chose this rating because this was a really great series. Some of the characters were amazing and a few were on the nutty side. I loved all three books. I especially love the way Sophia and Adam, Erin and Connor fell in love. A lot of heart felt romance. I recommend this book to all romance readers. GREAT read.
This book set is not typically the type of book that I read, so there wasn't that wow factor for me. With that being said though, it was still a good set. Young couple in love their entire life finally comes back together. The bumps that they overcome is just a true test for both couples in this box set. I was very pleased with the way everything ended. HEA!!
