Sloan Johnson is a big city girl trapped in a country girl’s body. While she longs for the hustle and bustle of New York City or Las Vegas, she hasn’t yet figured out how to sit on the deck with her morning coffee, watching the deer and wild turkeys in the fields while surrounded by concrete and glass.

When she was three, her parents received their first call from the principal asking them to pick her up from school. Apparently, if you aren’t enrolled, you can’t attend classes, even in Kindergarten. The next week, she was in preschool and started plotting her first story soon after.

Later in life, her parents needed to do something to help their socially awkward, uncoordinated child come out of her shell and figured there was no better place than a bar on Wednesday nights. It’s a good thing they did because this is where she found her love of reading and writing. Who needs socialization when you can sit alone in your bedroom with a good book?

Now, Sloan is a tattooed, purple haired mom of two kids, one of which was a thank you present to her husband for letting her get a Staffordshire Terrier with more anxiety issues than Sloan has, which is saying something. She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself in a good book and forget that she has somewhere to be.

I had the privilege of working with Sloan Johnson on this book. And let me tell you, she is a fabulous writer to work with.
This book leads off right where the last book left off.
We get to see the struggles that Colby and Lea go through in order to make it.
We learn all of the struggles that Colby has just to try and make it big and the regrets that Lea has that she has never lived her life the way she wanted to.
Yes, there’s a lot of typicality in this book but it’s a story that needs to be told. It’s not easy to get out there and become a star. Or even the girlfriend of said star.
I cannot wait to keep going on this series with Sloan and to see what the next chapters in the lives of Colby and Lea are!
Great job Sloan!! Can’t wait for more!

So we leave off from where Colby goes to Nashville to make it big and Lea is surprising him with showing up early. These two are very sweet and go through a lot of crap throughout the book. Ups and downs and sometimes didn't think they could make it through.
That being said I didn't love this. I liked the first one well enough. But it just isn't great. The story line has been done many times and it brings nothing new to the table really. It's a enjoyable read, but it just felt dragged and a bit boring and could tell what things were going to happen and what hardships they would have. There was a lot of errors unlike the first book. Didn't distract from the story, but there was a lot. I felt the first book was better written and I enjoyed the first more. The characters are very good and I really like Colby especially, sometimes Lea got on my nerves, but nothing wrong with that. She was still a very likeable character. It took me a while to finish this book I picked it up and it just dragged and it didn't suck me in. did really enjoy the ending, it picked up a bit more for me.
Over all it was a very decent read and I am sure others will love it. Sadly, it just fell flat for me and felt like it has been done too many times.
I will continue to read others stories by this author, I enjoy her work.

This is book 2 in the series and it left off right were the first book ended. I loved that this one was a little longer than the first and you got to know Colby and Lea a little better. Lea sometimes was a little whiny but she is suppose to be a young adult trying to find her way and sometimes that happens. It was a sweet story of struggles and happiness and I really enjoyed it.

I like how the story takes off right from the last book and was pretty good. It had the typical ups and downs as being the girlfriend of an upcoming musician so the story was typical but I did like how it ends now can't wait for the next.
