Falling for Him #1

Falling For Him 1

Rate this book
Stranded in the mountains after a camping trip gone worse than bad, college student Rachel Baker finds herself holed up in a cabin with the wickedly hot and sarcastically cranky Peter Shaw. Despite his grumpy demeanor, Rachel is drawn to him like no man she's ever encountered before. But can she trust him? Should she trust a man she just met?

Escaping his volatile and cheating ex-girlfriend in the city, Peter Shaw welcomed the solitude and silence of the wilderness. But when fate pours down on them, Peter and Rachel find themselves stuck in a cabin together--alone.
All camping trips have a fire; theirs can't be extinguished. With the heat building and the tension palpable, it's a perfect backdrop for seduction and fantasy.

Life in the mountains can be peaceful and romantic, but what happens when they have to return to the city...and to the vindictive, calculating ex-girlfriend?

This is the first book in the Falling for Him Series (New Adult and College Romance) and has a cliffhanger. If you want to read all the books at once, get the boxed set right here on Falling for Him - The Collection.

After just finishing college Rachel agrees to go on a camping trip to do some climbing with her roommates friend Michael. Michael seems to have a crush on Rachel which she doesn't return. After arriving they meet some other college students and agree to hang out. Rachel has a bit too much to drink and passes out at the camp only to wake up and find out the next morning that Michael has ditched her since she had ignored him.

Having no other choice Rachel asks the other campers for help. One of which is a very attractive man named Peter who has done nothing but give Rachel the cold shoulder. When it's time to pack up the only available way for Rachel to get home is to ride with Peter on his motorcycle but after what was supposed to be a quick stop at his family's cabin the two get trapped by a storm.

I've rated this novella two stars simply because I made it all the way through and actually got a good chuckle out of it...unfortunately it's not meant to be funny. Rachel really came off as completely childish most of the time which made me really not like her much at all. Peter was also quite the jerk in the beginning and then when he got a bit more tolerable we bring in his psycho ex-girlfriend.

The writing seemed a bit off throughout. Most of the time I'd guess Rachel to be a teenager from her dialogue and thoughts but occasionally you'd get something thrown in that seemed completely out of place. For instance she says she saw someone with a lighter then at the end of the explanation she's giving she says "I observed her!" I really don't think anyone talks like that so I had a good chuckle with the awkwardness of it. There also seemed to be a few typos here and there.

Having really not liked the characters separately it was really hard to even want them to start a relationship. Then when other things happened I'm just wanting to scream run away from him, run as fast as you can.

Overall, definitely not one I'd recommend.

How far are you willing to go to fight for the love of you life?

Rachel volunteered herself to a camping trip with her roommate closed friend and after a horrible time. After finding herself left behind alone in the camping site, Good thing she had met some people from her school and made friends with them.

After spending a couple of days with her new friends, she finds herself trap in a cabin with Peter. After not having a great impression with Rachel, he finds himself having a hard time staying away from her.

Rachel and Peter decide to give each other a try on their relationship, but like always there is someone evil trying to destroy thier love that they have for each other.

Can their love preveal or will it be too weak to stay strong?

I found great book intersting. I can't wait to continue reading how Rachel and Peter's love grows strong.

5*****

Rachel has the worst luck on a camping trip in the history of camping. Abandoned and alone a handsome stranger Peter helps her home. On their way back home they get stranded in his uncles cabin due to bad weather and mud slides. As feelings start to develop they decide its best to leave it alone. Since he is in business owning his company and headed to Spain in few short weeks and she is headed into an internship from college. Once home these two can't fight the attraction they have for one another. Only to discover Peter has a crazy ex Laura who trys to cause poor Rachel more harm than good. Of course Rachel had no idea she has fallen for the most eligible bachelor around, a business owner, wealthy, and handsome to boot. Laura has other plans though unable to walk away from Peter and let him be happy. Laura is a stalker right from the crazy ex handbook. Taunting and harrassing poor Peter, trying to drive Rachel away with her lies. However when Rachel and Peter stop fighting the sensations and desires and cave in to be with one another they find out they can work through almost anything. When the story ends off Peter is headed to Spain for business trip and Rachel makes plans to meet him soon after, while visiting her grandmother's family. Only to learn Laura will be leaving on the same flight as Peter and leaves Rachel concerned and angry. Jessica Grey brings life to this story with the compassion and suspense she added to Peter and Rachel's love story. A story filled with romantic notions and twisted stalkerism. I can't wait to see what happens to Rachel and Peter in book two.

Rachel finished with classes for the semester and wanted to do something exciting. Her roommates friend Michael offers to take her rope climbing. She agrees. First night there she sees a group of people with her college logo on their shirts, so she decides to hang out with them when she notices a hot guy named Peter. When she wakes up she realizes that she's not in her tent. When Peter is forced to take her to her tent she realizes that Michael left her. Peter just got over his psycho ex named Lara, and believes every woman is a liar and cheater. So when he's forced to take Rachel home they get stranded at his uncle's cabin. Great story. Need to read.

College student Rachel just wants to blow off steam after finals, so goes camping with her roommate’s friend. There she meets Gorgeous Guy. The two don’t get off to a good start—he thinks she’s just like his ex-girlfriend (a manipulative, selfish flirt) and she things he’s a rude jerk.

On the way back from Yosemite, the two get stranded in the rain and take shelter in a cabin in the woods. Basically, the two get stuck in the woods and “couple up.” Very blasé and typical. Overall, this was short , slow, and uninteresting. And there are three books dedicated to these two? Oh, brother!

This is the first book in the falling for him series and definitely starts the series off with a bang. A total of eleven books in the series so this is more of a serial soap opera. Two people stranded in a secluded mountain again with an instant chemistry between. A sweet college romance between Rachael and Peter who met by chance. Not much character development and some steamy sex. I found this book free on Amazon and gave it a try.

Breezy Read

It was a very light read with some good character plots, the books itself was poorly edited though, I came across numerous occasions where I had to reread the passage multiple times only to think, this passage still doesn't make any damn sense... lol, I liked the little love story it was cute... it's worth a one read if you want to be entertained for a cpl hours.

I wasn't terribly thrilled with this book. The characters were ok, it was the grammar and use of English I couldn't get past. I didn't feel like I was reading an adult novel, but a fairy tale. It's just more personal preference, I guess. I liked to read as if someone is talking in front of me, not "for she had long golden locks" kinda thing. The characters' dialogue also felt fabricated instead of natural.

A Delightful tale. A college gal just finished her exams and she winds up in the mountains. But a mishap occurs and she is frightened out of her wits. A hero begins to emerge though, and mother nature takes it's course. Looking forward to the next chapter!

I had some hope for it, but the plot and dialogue were under developed. Crazy problems came up, but they aren't fleshed out. We also missed out on a lot of the courtship.
