I loved this book. The technical skills of single-handing a 50 foot sailboat around the world - through swell and gale - are abundantly displayed throughout the book. Any conception that circumnavigation is for the average sailor and weekend adventurer is erased as mechanical, environmental and mental challenges occur daily at sea. But the sea calls and I have set a goal of many long passages, so this book opened my eyes to the maritime experience.
