When Paulos Sinopolis lost his wife Fontini during the birth of their daughter Kindle 7 years ago, he made himself a promise. He swore that he would protect his little girl no matter what. Now that Kindle is sick he is prepared to do everything humanly possible and some things that aren’t to ensure that he never loses her. A trip into the Underworld to save her and an encounter with the Gods themselves may cure her illness, but at what cost. A meeting between Hades and Lucifer and the signing of a contract means that Kindle will have to fight for her new life, potentially forever. With the eyes of death watching every move, encounters with the beings of nightmares, unexpected enemies and unlikely allies, Kindle’s life is not that of the average 7 year old. Mystery, magic, mayhem and eternal love seem to follow her while she struggles to survive and understand her existence. Contracts have fine print. If you don’t take the time to read it, you may get more than you bargained for, and a contract is binding…forever.
LOVED IT! The story went in directions that were unexpected, but fitting. It left you on the edge of your seat in some places and in others you felt like you could sit down with Kindle and just relax while her life went on. Dangerous enemies, good friends & strong emotional connections to characters and a splash of humor kept me reading. The descriptions of her surroundings are very clear and make it easy to picture the scene, but also leave enough to your own mind that your imagination is working too. By the end, I felt connected to Kindle and a few of the other characters to the point that I was left in tears, of both joy & sadness. I find myself eagerly anticipating another addition to "The Darkness Rising Universe", and hope that I wont have to wait for too long. A MUST read!
Massive five stars given to the author, if I could give more I would. Once again got me pulled in right from the start. My heart was racing at the beginning of the story and never really stoped being on edge all way through. The description of the times and the myths were spot on, I could see everything clearly in my mind at times were the characters were, I even felt like I was with them. My heart at times broke for this little girl and I cried for the love of her dad had for her so strong, he would do anything and I mean anything for kindle. To me through all the supernatural turns in this story thats the strong message , what would you do for your child? I lovd this authors work I cant wait to read whats next.
