This is a fun biography for kids about Shakespeare and his work. It also teaches you a lot about what life was like in London and Stratford during Elizabethan times. This is a small short book but it is full of facts which are set out in a way that is child-friendly. there are lots of pictures, cartoons and speech bubbles. The author has written lots of other non-fiction books for children including other famous British people from history. We have some of his other books too. I think they are a quick and easy way to learn about people from history.

Hard to believe that book with so few words has the room to get the facts wrong, but Brassey does. I count 24 mistakes or assumptions stated as facts. This is what happens when experts are not consulted. This basically one-star book is so engaging and nicely illustrated that it gets an extra star, but Jeez!
