4.26 rating? My Kindle was in serious jeopardy of-
description/

Writing: I'm convinced this is the first draft of this book. There's no way the author completed a second read through. There were so many fragmented sentences, run-ons, incomplete thoughts, etc.

Thesaurus Users Please Note: Just because the word is similar doesn't mean that it should be substituted.

Characters: Underdeveloped. I still don’t know what happened with Mia and Santiago to make her so anti-relationship. Also, it appears every characters’ personality included an extreme funny bone. They laughed at everything, but nothing was funny. There isn't much depth to the characters.

Storyline: The editorial issues were so extreme, it became almost impossible to follow the plot. The parts I did follow were not substantial and didn't make sense. Caleb almost bordered on abusive given the 24 hour time span that he knew Mia. How can you be so demanding within 24 hours without someone thinking you are certifiably crazy? The storyline required a lot of reality suspension.

Intimacy Scenes: In my opinion it was too soon. They had sex approximately 7 times in 3 days. I'm not talking about a long lost friend, I'm talking about since first meeting each other. The last few times without a condom! Again, reality suspension.

On the flip-side, this was the only section of the book that was edited. The steamy-ness was pretty good, but you had to overlook all of the other stuff.

ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, the author had the nerve to end the book with a cliffhanger.

Received a request from Author in exchange for a review.

This hovered around a 3 star read for me, at times it dipped a little lower and then rose a slight notch above; but settled at a middle of the road read.

Mia has had her heart broken and trust destroyed and is not ready to face that type of hurt again. She knows that to love is to risk - but she doesn't want to take that risk lightly. After a night out with the girls she meets what would seem to be the perfect guy, Ben seems to have all the items on the list checked off. But as he pursues her she can't seem to find the spark of passion that makes her want him.

Caleb is the hunky playboy that has the world at his fingertips. But everything just seems so dull - so gray in his world. Except that bright spot he sees every day during traffic. That sassy girl that sings and dances in her car. There is something about her that seems different than the women he spends time with. Something real about her.

When Caleb sees Mia in the flesh, just feet away he can't help himself. He must have her - even if for one night. But after they experience a closeness that he never felt before he can't seem to let her go. But Caleb will have to battle her trust issues, the situation with Ben and what will happen when she realizes that he is more than just some business owner.

This is the first novel from the author and is a somewhat short installment of a series. It does have a cliffhanger at the end, but was more of a mini-cliff that made you wonder 'what is the connection?' A few minor issues here and there with editing, but nothing that pulls your focus away from the story or makes a scene appear awkward or unable to decipher.

There is a story here that is interesting and leaves you wondering more about what is going on in the heads/world of the men Mia seems to have captured. I desperately crave connections to the heroines in these stories and find it is often the hardest thing to pull off. For some reason I could not get behind Mia (but honestly there are very few female characters that I truly like). She wanted to be so sure of herself and in control of her life - she wasn't going to be broken like she was before. But she seemed more emotional than she projected. For me she just seemed to go from hot/cold so easily without much to provoke it.

Now as for Ben & Caleb - both seemed to be instant-love guys - but one was a playboy and the other seemed to be destined for committed relationships. I never got that tingle from Ben, but Caleb appealed to me - we even get a few POV shifts of him early in the story.

What will I do when book two comes out? I will buy it. For two reasons.

1. I want to know who these two men are - the back story. Plain and simple, I am a sucker cliffs (even if I say I hate them, even tiny curb-like-cliffs). There is something more to the story and I am interested in seeing where this goes.

2. Growth. Even if an author has spent years writing down stories or thinking them up in their heads - putting it out for public consumption is not easy. It takes guts to be willing to take something that you created and put it out in the world. I enjoy reading a new author and seeing if they can take it up a notch and where the next book goes. I really hope that the next book in the story ends up with a higher rating. I hope that it has some unexpected surprises.

I was looking for a good book to get me out of a funk and I definitely found it.
Mia decided to move a way from her family and the life she knew because of the humiliation and the heartbreak her last relationship brought to her life. She moves to Austin, TX, starts a new job, meets new people, and little by little starts enjoying life. When it comes to relationships and men she still not ready to open up completely. She meets Ben at a bar and decides to give herself a chance and see how things develop. Ben is ok and Mia admits he's an attractive guy, but she's not attracted to him and continuously tells him that she wants to take things slow but he doesn't get the hint.

Caleb is a successful business man who has the world and the ladies at his feet. From the outside he seems to have everything but in reality he's a lonely man who goes day in and day out fulfilled by only his business. On his way to work he's encountered a young woman singing and dancing in her car, he feels an attraction for her but feels a little silly acting on it.
When Caleb finally meets Mia at one of his nightclubs sparks flight and he feels the need to have her if only for one night.

I truly loved this story. It flows nicely from the beginning and I feel like the author provides enough information for the reader to understand where Mia and Caleb are coming from as well as the passion that develops between them. When it comes to Ben, I had a feeling from the beginning that there was more about him that he was letting everyone see. I saw him as a little shady and I had a hard time relating to him. I love Caleb, the man is sex on legs and alpha male through and through but tender and sweet enough that doesn't feel like he's overwhelming.
The ending has a little bit of a cliffhanger and I can't wait to get my hands on that second book. I highly recommend this book.

This book held my interest from beginning to end!

Mia is someone we can all relate to. She has had her heart broken in the past and avoids any situation that may cause her that pain again.

Caleb is a wealthy business owner that can have any woman he desires. He has no interest in a relationship with anyone past a one time deal, but after meeting Mia, he begins to question what it is that he truly wants.

Now throw Ben into the mix, a “friend” that Mia met before Caleb. He would make the perfect boyfriend, but he has no effect on Mia. She is not interested in a relationship with him past friendship, but he does not seem to take the hint. Without spoiling anything from the storyline, Ben is not very happy to learn of the relationship forming between Mia and Caleb.

The author did a great job of showing the passion between Mia and Caleb. The intimate scenes were well written. Just enough of that ‘bedroom’ talk that we all love, but not so much that it makes you cringe.

I give this book 4 1/2 stars. Reasons for not being 5 stars for me: 1) I would have liked a little more background on the main characters. Hopefully we will get more in the second installment. 2) Needed a bit more editing, although this didn’t affect the flow of the story at all.

I am looking forward to the continuation of this story. I will definitely recommend this book. Be warned that this installment ends in a cliffhanger.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this new author. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised. It really is a cute fun read. It had all the necessary elements and themes to grab a 4 1/2 star rating from me. I would liked to have known a little more background into the main female. The introduction of boyfriend 1 into the storyline was a little slow for me. Neither concern causing major problems for the storyline. It doesn't take long to get totally involved and finding yourself having to know what happens next.(I couldn't put it down). I found myself shaking my head and able to bond with the characters and storyline. If you have ever recovered from heartbreak and had to start a new relationship --If you have ever had to start a new path for yourself while having multiple ones to take- if you had to make a choice between the known or the unknown in a relationship- then this book is definitely for you. Some very Hott love scenes. Boyfriend 2 was so erotic and fun. Great descriptive writing. I would recommend!!! Does end with a cliffhanger so be prepared.....cant wait

I really enjoyed this book. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for some editing issues. The book does start out kind of slow but I'm glad I kept reading because once it picks up it was quite good! It does have something resembling a cliff hanger at the end. You find out who a certain someone is but not the 'what, where, when, and why' kind of questions that sort of leave you hanging. I will definitely be picking up the 2nd book when it comes out because I can't wait to find out what the connections are and why the characters acted like they did. I hope to learn a little bit more of the background of a couple of the characters as well. I don't want to say much more and spoil anything, you just have to read it for yourself.

I loved the way the Spanish was interspersed through this novel. I won't tell the twist so as not to ruin it for other readers but I ALWAYS guess the twist about 3 chapters in to any book & I didn't guess this one.

The only thing I can say that isn't completely positive is that I had a hard time understanding why our heroine was so distrustful. I don't want to make light of what happened in her past but I was expecting something worse to have caused her to feel so jaded.

Maritza...Thank you for sharing your book with me....can't wait to read part 2!!!

I was more than pleasantly surprised with this book. Caleb is he perfect bad boy remincent of a certain Mr. Grey with a little Mr. Cross mixed in too. Mia is independent and not afraid to lay it all out there. Some elements were a little formulatic, but the scortching heat between Caleb and Mia is well worth it. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

I fell in love with the alpha male that is "Caleb"! I desperately wish he was real and that I was good enough to be his woman! (ugh Lucky Mia)

I enjoyed this read so much! Big surprise twist at the end but it works very well in anticipation for part 2!

I can't wait for more Caleb! Till book 2 is released, he will be living in my dreams!! ;D

Many, many, many editing, spelling, grammatical, malapropism and punctuation issues. Cliffhanger.

This is one of the mostly poorly written book I have ever read. Almost every rule of grammar, spelling and punctuation is broken. The author repeatedly uses malapropisms -- probably words suggested by her spell checker because her spelling is so poor. The only parts of this book that were decently edited were the sex scenes, most of which were actually pretty hot, so I'm guessing she read those sections more than once. Beyond that, it was so unreadable it's impossible to believe the author actually read her own book even once. To add insult to injury, it has a cliffhanger.

But, as usual, I read it to the end -- now you don't have to. Find something else. Of the 1,100+ books I've logged in Goodreads, this is in my bottom 1%, so there are literally at least 1,000 books that I thought were better.
