حقیقت پسند کسی ناول نگار کا نام ہوتا تو وہ عنیزہ سید کا ہوتا۔
عنیزہ سید کے کردار جیتے جاگتے انسان ہیں۔ میرے جیسے۔ آپ جیسے۔ روتے، ہنستے، لڑتے جھگڑتے۔ اچھے بُرے۔
ان کا کوئی بھی ناول اُٹھا لو، کبھی ایسا محسوس نہیں ہوتا کہ ہم کوئی فکشنل یا تصوراتی کہانی پڑھ رہے ہیں۔ ہمیشہ یہ احساس دلاتا ہے کہ یہ کہانی معاشرتی ہے۔ آپ کی ہے۔ میری ہے۔ ہماری ہے۔ اور ہمارے اردگرد جیتے جاگتے انسانوں کی ہے۔
اس کتاب میں موصوفہ نے جیسے اس ٹاپک پر لکھا ہے مجھے یہ کہنے میں کوئی عار نہیں کہ اس سے بہتر کوئی نہیں لکھ سکا۔ ایسی حقیقت پسندانہ کہ کتاب چھوڑنے کا دل نہ کیا۔ عائشہ جیسی بہت سی لڑکیاں ہیں جو بھٹکتی ہیں اور اپنی لئے زندان کا انتخاب کرتی ہیں۔
۲۰۰۰ء میں شائع ہوئی کتاب آج ۲۰۲۴ میں پڑھتے وقت زرا برابر بھی احساس نہیں ہوا کہ یہ کہانی چوبیس برس قبل لکھی گئی ہے۔ اور آج کے دور میں ایسی نایاب کتابیں کون لکھتا ہے۔

The hype of this book was not a lie! My expectations were so high and the truth is- it didn't meet them but still I am not disappointed
Plot wasn't new for me so why did I end up too stunned staring at the ceiling at 6 a.m.?
I finished, closed the book, put it back on the shelf and with each step I was thinking about it, then suddenly a thought hit me! I am used to narrating any story I read to my siblings, friends, readers and when I tried to do same with it I COULDN'T DO JUSTICE! THE PLOT SOUNDS TOO TYPICAL (to me) BECAUSE THE MAGIC WAS OF اندازِ بیان
Obv its a talent which i don't have only ANEEZA BAJI CAN DO THIS MAGIC TO LITERATURE

یہ سچ ہے کہ ہمارے معاشرے میں جب بھی کسی عورت نے اپنی خواہشات کے مطابق یا اپنے اصولوں اور شرائط پر زندگی جینی چاہی تو اسے اس سب کی بہت بھاری قیمت چکانی پڑی ہے۔ ہمارا معاشرہ عورت کو اپنی مرضی سے جینے کا حق نہیں دیتا، یہاں عورت بے شمار روایات, سماجی اقدار اور حدود و قیود کی بیڑیوں میں جکڑی ہوئی ہے اور ان بیڑیوں سے رہائی کی قیمت اسے تنہائی اور دھتکار کی صورت میں ملتی ہے، یہی اس کہانی کا بنیادی موضوع ہے۔ یہ کہانی صرف ایک عورت کے دکھ اور بے بسی کا بیان نہیں ہے بلکہ ہمارے سماج کے اُن تضادات کی عکاس ہے جو پہلے اپنے گھر کی عورتوں کو خواب دکھاتے ہیں اور پھر انہی خوابوں کو ان کی آنکھوں سے نوچ لیتے ہیں۔ روایت اور جدت کے درمیان کشمکش کو مصنفہ نے سادہ مگر بہت اچھے انداز میں بیان کیا ہے۔ کہانی کا المیہ یہ ہے کہ ایک عورت اپنے جائز حق کے لیے لڑتی ہے مگر اسے اپنی ہی عزت و وقار کی قیمت پر فیصلے کرنے پڑتے ہیں۔
جنوبی پنجاب کے ایک پسماندہ گاؤں میں آنکھ کھولنے والی عائشہ نیازی، جسے اس کے والد نے اپنے علاقے اور خاندان کی روایت سے بغاوت کرتے ہوئے اعلیٰ تعلیم دلوائی، بااعتماد، باشعور اور سمجھدار بنایا، جو اپنے دیہی پس منظر سے قطعی مختلف اپنے لیے نئے خواب اور نئے امکانات دیکھتی ہے، اس کی زندگی کے اہم ترین فیصلے میں اس کی مرضی کو اہمیت دینے کی بجائے، اس کے والد وہ فیصلہ اپنی محبت کے خراج اور خاندان کو راضی کرنے کے لیے اس پر مسلط کر دیتے ہیں، جس سے اختلاف کرتے ہوئے جب عائشہ زندگی کو اپنی شرائط پر گزارنا چاہتی ہے تو تنہائی اور دربدری اس کا مقدر ٹھہرتی ہے۔
یہاں مجھے مصنفہ سے یہ اختلاف ہے کہ انہوں نے عائشہ کو ایک متضاد شخصیت کے طور پر دکھایا ہے۔ اگر عائشہ کو اتنا باشعور، خوددار اور بااعتماد بنایا تھا کہ وہ اپنی زندگی کے لیے اتنا بڑا فیصلہ لے رہی ہے تو اس میں ایسے حالات سے نبرد آزما ہونے کی طاقت بھی دکھائی ہوتی۔ اس کے کردار میں عملی طور پر بھی وہی استقامت اور مزاحمت نظر آنی چاہیے تھی جو اس کے فیصلے میں جھلکتی تھی۔ جو عورت اتنا بڑا فیصلہ لیتی ہے وہ اس فیصلے کے نتائج سے بھی آگاہ ہوتی ہے۔ تو پھر اس میں اپنے فیصلے پر ڈٹے رہنے کی اور حالات کا شکار ہونے کی بجائے حالات کو اپنے تابع کرنے کی ہمت بھی ہونی چاہیے یا پھر کم از کم وہ کوشش تو کرتی۔ عائشہ نیازی نے تو پہلے مرحلے پر ہی ہتھیار ڈال دیے اور اپنے وقار، عزت نفس اور وضع داری کو روندتے ہوئے خود کو تباہ ہونے دیا۔ مصنفہ نے عائشہ کو ابتدا میں ایک جرأت مند اور بااعتماد عورت کے طور پر پیش کیا ہے، جو اپنی زندگی کا اتنا بڑا فیصلہ عزتِ نفس اور اصولوں کی بنیاد پر کرتی ہے۔ قاری کو توقع ہوتی ہے کہ وہ آگے چل کر بھی اسی حوصلے اور استقامت کے ساتھ حالات کا مقابلہ کرے گی۔ لیکن ناول میں اس کا رویہ اس کے برعکس ہے۔
اور پھر آخر میں حضرت صاحب والا حصہ۔ ویسے تو عنیزہ کے ہر ناول میں ایک صوفی بزرگ ضرور ہوتے ہیں، مگر اس ناول میں یہ حصہ مجھے غیر ضروری لگا۔ حضرت صاحب روحانی اور اخلاقی سہارا فراہم کرنے والے شخص کے طور پر ابھرتے ہیں اور عائشہ کی زندگی میں سکون اور رہنمائی کا باعث بنتے ہیں۔ لیکن اگر حقیقت پسندانہ انداز میں دیکھا جائے تو یہ کردار ایک مصنوعی سا سہارا معلوم ہوتا ہے۔ یوں لگتا ہے جیسے مصنفہ نے عائشہ کے مسائل کو حل کرنے کے لیے (جنہیں اپنی دانست میں وہ مسائل کا پہاڑ بنا چکی تھی) ایک بیرونی مصنوعی سہارا تخلیق کیا ہو کیونکہ ان کی کہانی میں آمد کچھ اسی انداز میں ہوتی ہے۔ حقیقت پسند قاری کے نزدیک زیادہ فطری یہ ہوتا کہ عائشہ اپنی زندگی کے مسائل کا سامنا اپنی ہی قوت اور مزاحمت سے عملی انداز میں کرتی، نہ کہ محض روحانی تسلی سے اس کی زندگی کی ناؤ کو پار لگا دیا جاتا۔
قصہ کوتاہ، میرے نزدیک مصنّفہ نے عائشہ کے کردار کے ساتھ انصاف نہیں کیا۔ باقی جو چیز مجھے اچھی لگی وہ مجتبیٰ اور عزیز احمد کی دوستی تھی۔ پُر خلوص، بے ریا اور محبت سے بھرپور۔ تو اس لحاظ سے اس ناول کا پہلا حصہ مجھے اچھا لگا۔

This was a great piece of writing. Writer described the dilemmas of our society .. there was the part ascribing values, power of duaas and love of family ... i would reccomend it to you even though you may get confused at some point ...

سمیرا حمید نے سچ کہا جب انہوں نے اس کہانی کی مدح میں کہا کہ "عنیزہ سید کی کہانی کے کردار صلصال کی مانند ہیں، جو منظر نگاری کے چاک پر پروان چڑھ کر ثبوتِ حق پیش کرتے ہیں سانس لینے لگتے ہیں اور ہمیں اپنی کہانی خود سنانے لگتے ہیں۔“ عنیزہ سید نے اپنے کرداروں کو جس خوبصورتی سے بیان کیا ہے اور جس خوبصورتی سے ان کے توسط سے ہم تک ان کی کہانی پہنچائی ہے اس کی جتنی تعریف کی جائے کم ہے، اس کتاب میں کریکٹر ڈیولپمنٹ سے لے کر کہانی تک ہر چیز پرفیکٹ ہے۔ اس کہانی نے مجھے وہ اسباق سکھائے ہیں جو تاحیات میرے ساتھ رہیں گے۔ یہ کہانی ہے عائشہ نیازی اور اس جیسی اور بہت سی سادہ لوح لڑکیوں کی جو وقت کی برق رفتاری اور زمانے کی تند و تیز ہواؤں میں لڑکھڑا جاتی ہیں۔ یہ کہانی ہے آشا چاٹگام والا کی، یہ کہانی ہے گمراہ ہوجانے والے کی۔ یہ کہانی ہے سولٹری کنفائنمٹ کی۔ میں چاہوں گا کہ ہر کتابوں کا عاشق اس کتاب کو پڑھے بلکہ شاید یہ کتاب تو ہر اس بندے کو بھی پڑھنی چاہیے جو کتاب نہیں پڑھتے۔ یہ کتاب اپنے ہجم کے اعتبار سے تو چھوٹی سی کتاب ہے مگر اس کا سبق اس کے حجم سے کئی گناہ زیادہ ہے۔✨🎀

انسان جاندار ہے تو مختلف بیماریوں کا شکار ہوجاتا ہے مگر انسانی روح بھی تو بیدار ہے۔کیا وہ کسی بیماری کا شکار نہیں ہوسکتی؟
The shortest overview of this novellete.The story tells that how a soul can be ill and how can we heal our soul.
The story is short but difficult to digest.I also get into slump while reading it.🤦🏻♀️But later when started it again I just loved it.The story is too beautiful.The lesson is too beautiful.
You think you are alone but the book says:
"ایک بات تو یہ ہے کہ جن کا کوئی نہیں ہوتا،اُن کا ہی تو خدا ہوتا ہے۔"
There are way more lines which make you think all over again.
"دنیا میں دل لگانے کی کیا ضرورت ہے بی بی!دل تو بذات خود دنیا ہے۔"
انسان کے پاس گناہ کرنے کی ہزاروں وجوہات ہوتی ہیں۔اور اِس راہ میں ہزاروں لوگ مل جاتے ہیں جنہیں انسان الزام دے سکتا ہے مگر اگر غور کرے تو معلوم ہو گناہوں،غلطیوں کی راہ میں انسان کے خود کے علاوہ کوئی زمہ دار نہیں ہوتا۔ہم ہزاروں بارکبھی دنیا کوتو کبھی دل کو الزام دے کر بہت آرام سے آگے بڑھ جاتے ہیں۔

l like this novel very much
a story of a girl who wants to study higher education but in her family girls are not allowed to study higher
but her father is ready for higher education on one condition is that she will marry a person which is chosen by her father
but when her father arranges her marriage she disagrees and thinks that she deserves better and she knows her right or wrong
and she ran away from family to London
for becom dancer
there is a hero who secretly loves her and but when he met her which is completely changed
and she doesn't want to become the same person she was before

I had a lot of expectations from this book because of all the hype surrounding it but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet them. The plot felt rather typical and cliched, the classic “good, ideal girl getting misled” storyline. Still, despite that predictability, I genuinely enjoyed reading it because of Aneeza Syed’s writing style. Her novels carry a certain vinatage nostalgic sort of vibe.
My favorite part of the book has to be the friendship between Mujtaba and Azeez Ahmed. Azeez ahmed's humour and personality truly stood out. I always enjoy reading such characters.
Overall it was an okayish read, good for passing time if u want to read something brief.

This book broke my heart but also fixed it. This book is ao beautifully written and the way the emotions are portrayed is just so nice. Every character is written so magically and the plot and story line how it progresses the small details, the thoughts, emotions, struggles, character development is amazing.

- i really enjoyed the first half of this book, as i found it light and comforting like a warm cup of tea if u know what i mean.
maybe it was the wholesome details of a vintage time in Lahore and the day to day mundane life of Mujtaba with his friend sipping chai at the cafe, and Ayesha's life as a hostelite exploring the city, visiting the bookshop, which made it cozy, but the other half was so sad to read, almost like being splashed over with ice cold water.
i felt soo much for Ayesha, like i felt everything, from rage to sympathy and so much more.
ah, showcased such a bitter yet unavoidable reality of our society :(

This book is about a young girl from a village where women's education isn't supported, but her dad takes stand for her and sends her to the city for higher education. She meets a young bookseller there. Read to know what happens next, but it is not a simple or heartbreaking lovestory. It's different.
I cried with her. It was so painfully written. Such a short story with a strong theme and message. Made me fall in love with Aneeza's writing and I bought almost every book by the writer on my Pakistan trip!
