Apollo Road is a fast-paced mystery thriller that got its hooks into me right away. The writing style and dialogue is a bit pedestrian (and colourful!), but this is appropriate for the setting and characters, and the unfolding of events are very descriptive (the reader will learn a thing or two). The storyline is imaginative and well-researched. This book is a page-turner that will definitely keep the reader guessing!

“Apollo Road” by Cliff Roberts is a wonderfully dark thriller about a man whose life is being turned upside down by a serial killer.
Down and out Clint still lives with his cheating wife in anticipation of their divorce when mysterious phone calls invite him to Apollo Road. Clint is offered a way out by what turns out to be a serial killer who has taken a shining to him. The book is about their relationship and its odd dynamics.
The book does a great job at ‘normalising’ a psychopath and casting him in a different and ambiguous role. Clint, the normal guy, changes through their contact, too.
Written with some excellent and very enjoyable sarcastic sense of humour Clint is the anti-hero who falls into a new life and a new role against type, which brings a fresh perspective on the life of a criminal. As the novel progresses we learn more about Bill, the serial killer and his motivation.
The scenes of the marital war between Clint and his ex-wife are sad and entertaining at the same time. There are some gruesome and gory scenes but they often are lightened with humour, too.
I really enjoyed the story for its twists and surprises and its understated yet very effective and enjoyable style.

Apollo Road by Cliff Roberts is a Thrilling suspenseful read that captured me from the very first page and had me reading well into the night!
I love a good thriller and Cliff Roberts gave me just that in Apollo Road. This creative book keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what our main characters will do next. What would you do with a cheating spouse who wants a divorce, no job, in debt and spiraling out of control to the point of suicide? Things come to light in a most unusual way for Clint/Jake as a serial killer offers him the deal of a lifetime.
If you want to know more you should really read Apollo Road! There is not only great suspense but also a thrilling ride to the end which is well deserved of our characters and makes the reader say Hell Yes!
