I used this to learn to cook, and more important to cook adventurously many decades ago in college. I remember it with much affection, and reading scraps of it today is a visit with my younger, more idealistic and naive self. And the recipes are still pretty good.

OK - so it's part cookbook and a series of idealistic essays on all of the world's problems, circa 1971. Also lots of great photographs throughout. I still like going back to the recipes and making something as a nostalgia trip, as I made some of these recipes when I first got married. If you see a copy you pick it up.

A very philosophical cookbook. Truly opened my eyes.
