Four teens decide to play a game: three of them will close their eyes and try to catch the fourth one who is blind. But if nobody can see, can one of them get away with murder?
Helen Rena loves reading and writing novels. And short stories. And flash fiction. She has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, and a vast collection of books and green bottles. She is still not sure why green bottles. She lives in Southern Oregon with her husband and two children.
This is more of a teaser introduction to Rena's book series than a standalone story, but it drew me in and kept me reading, and then I bought her next book.
In this short work we meet a girl called Ever, the main character, along with three complimentary characters (or perhaps opposing--we don't know yet for sure): Fox, Sin, and Demi. The author skillfully introduced them in the short pages of this little book.
I look forward to continue reading Ever's story in "The Coldest Heart".
This story was great. I felt blindfolded as I read along. Helen Rena has a true gift where she brings her readers into the worlds she has created. I highly recommend.
