****4 HOT Stars!****
This book was a light and quick read. I enjoyed the storyline and the HOT STEAMY man, EVAN!!
Oh yeah...Evan in this book was one sexy, romantic man (who still had a few flaws) but how he devoted his life to Kylie and Emma were just off the charts.
Kylie's husband, Brad, left her at age 19 with an infant. She had no idea where he was or when he may return. She had nothing and was forced to take a job as a stripper. About a year passes and one night during the show, she caught the eye of a beautiful stranger named Evan. Evan was immediately hooked and used his money and power to find her.
They go through so many obstacles in their romance, including, Evan finding out that Kylie is still married; Brad showing up and wanting to continue their marriage; Evan's old flame, Alexis, being a bitch; Evan's parents disapproving of their relationship; etc.
This book kept my attention throughout and didn't deter me from a few grammatical errors.
I really struggled to get through this book. I almost put it down, but I powered through. It was annoying, but I had to know what happened.
Let’s start with the characters. The only character I liked was Sarah who was Kylie's friend. Kylie cried (and I'm not exaggerating) about 70% of the time. Yes, she's young (20-21) and had a child at 19. But way too many tears. Her best quality was always putting her daughter first. This I admired.
I was not a fan of Evan. One of the worst hero's I've come across. He was weak, immature, and unreliable. A horrible boyfriend. Plus there was drama concerning another woman. His ex-girlfriend. Whom he claimed was "only a friend". Yet when he and Kylie had an argument, she was the one he ran to. Oh, and slept with! Nope!! Not ok.
So in summary....drama,drama, drama, crying, crying, crying, nonsense and more nonsense. The end. Oh wait, I did like the epilogue.
My first read by this author. I don't intend on checking out any other books.
Best book written by C A Harms yet. The story follows Kylie who has been abandoned by her husband, leaving her to fend for herself and her young daughter. She struggles to make ends meet and takes a job dancing in a strip club. This is where she meets successful and sexy businessman Evan. He can't get Kylie out of his mind and he soon starts to build a relationship with Kylie and her daughter, Kylie being independent doesn't want handouts though. Evan then realises there is more to life than work and his feelings for "his girls" grows. The couple have a to deal with jealousy, their pasts and other people interfering, will they survive, what emotional rollercoaster will they ride together ? A must read.
Wow. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review, so here we go...! I couldn't put this book down! I've never read anything from this author before, so I had no idea what to expect. She had me thoroughly invested in this book from the first page. This story was so gripping and addicting... I couldn't get enough! The characters are so real and believable it actually tares you apart. Kylie had my sympathy in the beginning, and with every turn of the page, my respect and love for her just kept growing. I absolutely put Evan up on a shiny pedestal. What an amazing (and sexy) man! I loved this story from very beginning to very end. Congratulations to C. A. Harms for writing such a fantastic read! 6 stars!
3.5 stars- this was a quick read for me. I really liked how strong Kylie's character was. Evan was just hot and sexy. The story had it all- sexy scenes, drama and humor. What else could you ask for? I look forward to reading more from this author.
Aww! I thought this book was so good! Kylie was a single mom when her husband Brad just up and left and left her with no explanation, no money and a pile of bills. She had 98 dollars to her name and a baby. She knew that the only way to improve her situation was to find a job and find one fast. So she decided to be a Stripper. She met HAWT ass Evan one night while stripping and her world began to change although she tried to fight it. This was a easy read and a new author for me. I really enjoyed this book. I loved the relationship between Evan and Kylie although sometimes I wanted to smack Kylie because she was so worried about what others thought about her and her job that she kept running away from the one person that truly loved her so much.. Evan. This is a HEA and is a stand alone book. This book is for mature readers and has some hot love scenes = )
This book had be hooked the whole time! I really loved it. It's about a young girl named Kylie who's husband just abandoned her & their five month old baby girl Emma, & the worst part? He left her with debt and she finds herself with no choice but to become a stripper After about a year of no news from brad she meets a guy, Evan, at the club and there's an instant connection. He sees that she doesn't belong there. Things progress between them but then other things happen you guys have to read! Really liked this book it was so cute especially with Emma. Some parts were cliché & corny but I love that kind of stuff lol so 5 stars for this one :)
I really enjoyed this book. It was rather original for me, as I couldn't really think of any other book I had read that reminded me of this story plot. Kylie gave up her whole future as a teenager for a man. She thought she knew what love was and she quit high school and got pregnant and married him. She lost her parents in this decision as she felt she knew what was better for her than they did. Later she finds herself alone with just her infant daughter. Brad had taken off with no explanation, left no money for her and Kylie ended up having to lose everything.
The only way to keep a roof over her head and food to feed her daughter was to work at a cafe by day and become a stripper by night. She was humiliated that her life had come to this but what was a young mother with no education suppose to do. One night while dancing on stage the shame was so heavy she focused on a man in the front row. She shut the world out and danced for only him. Never assuming she would ever see him again she was shocked to learn he paid big money for a lap dance from only her.
Evan, a successful business man who works with his father has never been allowed to make his own choices in life. His parents have picked out the woman he was to marry, the career he was to have and every decision he made had to be approved by his parents. That was until he saw something in Kylie that made him stop and rethink the direction his life was going. He felt for Kylie and saw past the stripper routine, he knew she didn't belong on that stage.
They get to know each other and he falls for her little girl and of course we can't have the ex husband stay out of things. It begins the roller coaster ride. Parents not willing to accept Kylie and Evan together, parents dying. Old lovers who want what they think is theirs, past hurts that keep getting reopened at every turn.
I loved how the author kept this story based in a realistic way, events that we could actually see happening, some of which have happen to a lot of readers. It broke my heart at times to see them suffering, made me laugh at some of the crazy things Evan did to try to get Kylie to just give him a chance. I adored Kylie for always putting the needs of her daughter first, even when her body was screaming for Evan's touch and for love.
The book was hard to put down, just when they would overcome one obstacle another person would decide that they should control the lives of others. In the last half of the book when the shocker moment came, I was so giddy because Karma had finally been served and the truth had been exposed. Evan's parents made me so angry when they didn't support their son when he told them of a fact that shattered his heart and left him feeling empty for years. Evan and Kylie proved what true love and trust could accomplish in a world of selfishness and jealousy. I am looking forward to reading more from this author
What would you do if your husband ran off with everything, leaving you with no education, no job and a baby to support and bring up on your own?? That’s what happened to 20 year old Kylie and to top it all of her husband hasn’t been paying anything for the last 3 months. Faced with losing everything and being evicted, she pulled herself together and did what she had to do to survive….strip. Kylie hated every moment of it, she felt dirty and cheap but to look after her daughter she would walk through hell and back again. Never did she think that one night when she went on stage as “Kitty” that her eyes would meet a man that sparked feelings that she hadn’t allowed nor wanted for a man in over a year. Evan was out with some coworkers at a local club and couldn’t believe the beauty that he saw grace the stage that night. Needing to find out about her he buys a private dance but Kylie takes what he says wrong and ends the dance before he could find out her name, but fate had other ideas when he went out for lunch and found her working at the diner he went to. He learned her name that day and was determined to get to know her no matter what. “I’ll wait until you’re ready to let me in again, and when you do you won’t remember what it felt like to be heartbroken. I will make you happy; that’s a promise.” Even though they come from very different world they come together but their love and relationship is tested time and time again. When Kylie’s ex and daughters father comes back declaring his love and wanting to be a family again, Kylie’s and Evan’s happily ever after is in jeopardy. “So much has happened over the last two years of my life, and when I met you I allowed myself to believe in happy endings. That was wrong of me, because happy endings don’t exist for girls like me.” I loved this book; it’s got everything I love! It’s sexy, gritty and keeps you guessing who’s happily ever after is really going to happen. I loved Kylie as a strong woman who refuses to put her and her daughter’s happiness and future in the hands of any man. She pulled herself up from rock bottom and did it all on her own never once asking for help. And Evan….(sorry swooned a lil thinking about him.) He is a man after my own heart. He knows what he wants in life and will move heaven and earth to get it. Yes he is a stubborn ass at times and can be a hot head but all is forgiven by me because well that man can be pretty persuasive with his words and actions. “Hell, I’ll admit it: I miss you insanely. I think I missed you before I even met you. If that seems crazy than I apologize, but it’s true.” Who wouldn’t want a man to be that crazy in love with you?? Miss.Harms has made a new fan with this book and I can’t wait to read more of her work. So in the end if you’re looking for a strong female who can give as good and she can take and one hell of a sweet talking , sexy man then this is defiantly a must read for you!!
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
WOW I just finish reading this book, and I love it, love the characters, and love how the book turn out to be, I have to say that this book had me angry, crying, and laughing, and I love every single minute of it, their where so much drama going, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Kylie, she is twenty years old, she has a five month baby, and married, but their is one problem, her husband left her and the five month baby, he disappear she don't have no idea where he at, she don't have a high school diploma, and no work experience, that's why she end up looking for a job as a stripper, every night she gets onstage she do it thinking about her daughter Emma, she do it knowing that she needs to keep food and a roof over their heads, in the morning she works as waitress.
On one of her night shift she it was her turn to dance, the place was fill with business man, locals, and mans that needs to relax after a day of work, that's when she saw him seating with a group of business man, that was in town on a convention, when she started dancing she focus on him, she couldn't believe what she was feeling for the stranger, after her dance was over her boss when to her to tell her that she was chosen for a private dance, and she don't do private dance when they told her how much she decided to do it, but what she was not expecting was for the client to be him, that night she couldn't get him out of her head, the next morning while she was at the café, she was surprise to see him their, that's when she knew that his name was Evans and that their life was about to change.
I really love and enjoy reading this book, I love the chemistry that Kylie and Evan have with each other, I love the way how Evan treat her, love the way how he got attach to baby Emma, and how he call them his girls, I just love him even though sometime he got me mad, I love how Kylie is with him and how she start to trust in love again and love her attitude.
I just love this book, Author C.A. Harm THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing book love it.
Young love isn't always all that it’s cracked up to be. Abandoned by her husband, left to care for her baby with no money and not even completed high school has left her in a difficult spot. Her daughter is her top priority. She is determined to not only survive but also thrive; she is willing to do whatever it takes to care for her daughter. Even if it means stripping.
As the story unfolds you are made aware that she does not enjoy this job at all, she is only doing it as a means to an end – providing for her daughter. She is doing well and has people who have become her family. She normally avoids eye contact with any of the patrons, but in this particular night she cannot stop staring at a devastatingly gorgeous businessman. His eyes remain on her as well. By chance they meet again. The pull to each other is very strong.
His has focused his life on his career and family business. His parents have “guided” many areas of his life. He has never felt this way before. He thinks about her all the time and soon finds his priorities are changing.
They both will face conflicts and pasts. Will their connection and draw to each other be strong enough?
You cannot help but to fall in love with these two characters. Kylie faces dire circumstances and refuses to let it ruin her; she fights. She fights for her daughter. She is a strong woman, but she is cautious because she has been burned by her husband and family. She feels the attraction to Evan, but tries to deny it and brush him off. But he won’t give up. He surprises her even more when he is not only accepting of her daughter, but also starts to grow a special bond with the little one.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with a bit of angst, sexual tension and bit steamy! I couldn't put Stripped down and read it in one sitting. You will LOVE the story and the characters.
I enjoyed this book, and it was a pretty easy read. I think that Kylie did what she felt she had to do when she started stripping. I liked that when she and Brad got pregnant that they got married. Her parents did not approve of her choices, and as such she felt she could not turn to them when the going got tough. So she did what she felt she could to support her daughter and herself. I hated that Brad left and did not just walk away, and that she did not at some point just file for abandonment of their marriage, but I also feel like she was young and without any guidance in her life she may not have known that might have been available to her. She meets Evan one night while stripping. He is good looking, rich, and as they start dating is good to her daughter, which are all pluses in my book. I hated that she was not honest from the beginning about where she was at in her marriage. Evan and Kylie have some great chemistry and there are some hot scenes in the book. I liked where they were going until they started to fight about things. Every couple has misunderstandings and they fight. What drove me nuts about Kylie and Evan was that they would walk out on each other, and not resolve their issues. I had to remind myself several times that she is young, but Evan was a bit older. It stands to reason that she had a good home life as a child and probably did not witness all this push and pull, so I just did not understand it. There are plenty of other detractors for this couple - His family, Brad coming back, her marriage, that I felt them never being a strong united front was more damaging at times to their relationship. Overall I like this book, and think that you will as well. I was given a copy to review, but also purchased it.
Kylie has no idea what to do. Her husband has abandoned her and their little girl and left a mountain of debt in his wake. How will she provide for them? With no other choices left to her she takes a job stripping and hates every minute of it and the way it makes her feel but as long as she can take care of her daughter that is all she cares about. One night she is dancing and sees the most gorgeous set of blue eyes looking at her from the crowd. Instantly she starts to feel things she thought were long dead and buried within her. Evan knows the minute he lays eyes on Kylie that she is going to change his life. He just has no idea how much. Being with Kylie makes him realize all that he has been missing out on in life by burying himself in work. He only wants to make her happy and take care of her and Emma they bring him so much joy. Too bad he keeps messing it up. His parents do not approve of Kylie and keep trying to push his ex on him. When he finally stands up to them let’s just say WOW. This story is by no means full of just happy times. It has some pretty rough scenes and some great ones as well. The things that Kylie and Evan have to work through in order to finally have their happily ever after will keep you on a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Eurghh... am I a party pooper or am I a party pooper. I am neither, I'm here to share my personal honest review. Woohoo....
Too much tears.Too much fucking tears.. aaarghhh I cannot handle it.She must've cried an ocean. Every fucking thing this woman had tears..Kylie the f*ck.She cried at every thing.
I did not connect with the characters at all..it didn't leave me hot and bothered either.Just too much tears..eurghh not from me..from Kylie.Too much tears Kylie.. surprised you ain't drowning in it. On the plus side I did love that she put her daughter above all else. For that I salute her.As for the rest...pffft.. it's the tears..too much tears Kylie. I don't mine the drama. But darn the tears..forever the tears.
How old were these characters. It's like teenage love..break up..make up..one second later..break up..make up.They were constantly walking away from each other.Biatches get your acts together and grow some golden balls.Eurghh..super irritating. They forever say "I love you..forever..I'll never leave you..don't give up on us..bla bla de bla bla"...one second later one of them walks away...gahhh madness. Really, I just couldn't understand this nonsense.. too much nonsense. And neither runs after the other, non really make the effort.
WOWZA!! This story had me hooked pretty much from the start!
Kylie is a young single mother who is doing whatever it takes to keep her & her daughter, Emma, with the basic necessities of life after Brad, Emma's father, disappeared from both of their lives. Kylie is a very proud independent woman determined to make it on her own even when she has to resort to going against her morals.
Evan is a very sexy man who also happens to have money. He gets extremely captivated by Kylie while she's working her night job. Evan can't get her out of his mind & runs into her a few more times before convincing Kylie to have dinner with him.
Just when Kylie & Evan are starting to heat things up, people from their pasts pull strings to try and keep them apart. You'll have to read Stripped to find out what happens! You will not be disappointed. This book has everything you want: great story, captivating characters, steamy sex, & no cliffhanger!! You won't be disappointed with the ending because Ms. Harms wraps up the story beautifully. Now go buy it & start reading.
Thanks Ms. Harms for giving me a copy of this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review.
I was graciously given a copy to review. This was a great, fast paced read for me! Getting married to her high school sweat heart Brad and being a stay at home mother, young Kylie thought she had everything they both wanted. To become a family. Until one morning everything changed in the blink of an eye. Now being a jobless, single parent with no supporting family, Kylie's lost it all. Decisions have to be made. Being forced to support her daughter and herself, to become the money maker, she works two jobs, one she's not proud of but where she meets Evan. He's a sexy wealthy stud with a heart of gold who'd give Kylie the world if she'd let him and he also treats her daughter as his own!! They start off slow to serious rather quickly but they make an adorable couple. They both have insecurities, it's a boat load full of drama- from meeting a super jealous, obsessive ex to having a spouse return unexpectedly after a long absence. Meeting the parents- what fun, remember those days? A sudden tragedy occurs, and so so much more. This roller coaster is full of twists and turns. It's definitely a must read!!
WOW this is a handful of 5 star reads for me now by C.A. Harms !! I am such a fan and I cannot wait to read more !!
I cannot say enough about how much I loved this book. It was a fast read for me , not because it is a short story but just because I loved it and hated putting it down , it flowed so nice and I enjoyed it all , even the twists , turns and drama. There was just enough of it all to make it well rounded and complete. Love that it had an HEA and loved the characters , all of them !!
Kylie is 20 years old working 2 jobs to support her and her daughter. Her husband Brad took off almost a year prior when Emma was just 5 months old. No reason why and never any explanation or money sent. Kylie had to resort to stripping and working early mornings at a cafe to make ends meet. She lost everything but had to keep it together and fight to survive so Emma could be happy and healthy. Estranged from her parents because her relationship with Brad & young age when she got pregnant was not something her parents were proud of. So now with the help of her wonderful landlord , babysitter Katie and her best friend Sarah , Kylie manages to work and provide for Emma and live as much of a normal life as they can. Then one night she looks into the eyes of a customer and her whole world comes crashing down , they are drawn to each other and despite her resistance to let him in Evan finds a way to knock down her walls !!
Evan is a knockout , of course , very rich , family money from their oil company and everything he could ever want at his feet. But Evan has never looked for love and happiness because he thought he had that once and it was destroyed. His parents try to mold him into what they want and also try to push him into the arms of the one girl that ruined his happiness years ago , Alexis. Once he spots Kylie dancing on the stage he knows he has to have her and he will do anything to get her. Evan is a great guy from the start. He is open with his feelings and wants to be with Kylie and Emma. He is super sweet and although there are a few hiccups in the beginning he tries his best to be the man Kylie needs and never dreamed she could find.
Continuously we have problems caused by Brad , Alexis and Evan's parents. Kylie and Evan have trust issues and this makes it difficult for them to do anything but run from their problems. The sex is fantastic and the feelings are so raw and real. I loved reading their journey and I also loved seeing Evan's compassion for Kylie's struggles with Brad and her life as a single mom. There were 2 WOW moments for me in the story but I did love how it all tied together. I just adore Evan and I am so thrilled with the ending !!
wow... What did I just read??! I have been reading PnR for almost a year now that I almost forgot stories like these still exist. For a moment, after reading this book I was speechless. I don't know what to think. The book made me laugh, angry, cry, and fall in love. The story was so sweet and beautiful that it was a special book for me. I loved Kylie. A woman forced by circumstances to embrace the world of stripping. She was a good woman; strong, determined, and with a big heart. She would do anything for her baby daughter... even do a job she hated. And there's Evan. Evan was a rich businessman who saw Kylie in one of her strip shows. He got so intrigued with Kylie that he immediately requested for a private show. The story was quite simple. A stripper meets a business man and they fall in love. The rich man's family doesn't like her so it's an 'us against the world' type of drama. I loved how she and Evan met. It was very sexy and sensual. I appreciated how the author dealt with different kinds of love here. Kylie loved her daughter so much that she would do anything for her daughter. She worked as a waitress and a stripper in order to make ends meet. Evan loved his parents that's why he was such a perfect son. But his love for Kylie and his family's rejection of her finally made him turn his back on them. And we have Sarah, Kylie's best friend. She's very loyal and can always be counted on especially thru tough times. I cried on the part where Kylie's dad died and she was giving a eulogy. She talked about the lost time they could have spent together. It was such a bittersweet moment that i cried buckets. I really hated Alexis. She was a b*tch and in the end she also showed herself as a whore. I also hated Evan's dad, but it would be a spoiler if I post here the reason why. I liked and hated Brad. In his own way he really loved Kylie but drugs can ruin a man in a big way. Technically there's a minor problem with editing and some very much repeated lines. I disregarded it because I was more focused on the story. The romance was great and deep. The author actually played on different emotions throughout the book. The sex was also okay. It was hot and sizzling. And the conflict... Damn! I honestly think they could have avoided some misunderstandings here. But it was still alright and the author pulled it really well. Overall, this is 4.5 stars for me.
I just finished reading Stripped and I liked it. Kylie's husband Brad left her high and dry with a 5 month old. With no word from him except letters she has to take care of her and her child. Bills are getting behind and she is about to lose everything she decides to drop her pride and sacrifice her dignity and becomes a stripper. This is what you see a year later and she is trying to make ends meet. Still not a word from Brad but she has a good support system, her friend Sarah and her landlord. She's works to pay bills. This wasn't her dream job but what is she going to do? One night whole stripping she meets Evan. She has never taken pride in stripping, always feeling dirty so she is surprised that she feels anything for him. He is very persistent and wants to get to know her better. It doesn't bother her that she has a kid. What bothers him is when he finds out that she is married. Will Evan forgive her for this deceit? You will have to read and see.
I enjoyed the story. I thought that it flowed well and that it was a good take on the whole stripper/millionaire aspect. I liked that she was a young wed mother and that she showed a lot of vulnerability but was still strong. It takes alot of courage to do what you have too to take care of your kids. It's not glamorous by no means but it's rewarding. I liked Evan. I thought that his character worked well with hers. For him to want to help take care of her and Emma, sigh! He's got my vote! The one thing I didn't like was the going back and forth. Communicate people!!! Lord. I just wanted to pull my hair out at times! I get why it was done. It's a story so you have to have conflict but how many times do you gotta leave someone??? I still enjoyed it though.
Their chemistry in and out of the bedroom was hot! Evan you dirty boy you! Didn't know you had it in you! At times though he was sorta cheesy. I would have laughed in his face for some of the things he says but....it is what it is. Kylie too acted more childish at certain points. I had to keep remembering that duh! She's 20. I'm sure I acted like that too but still she's a mother. I just thought she would be more grown up.
All in all I still enjoyed the story. I wanted to be able to see how it ended. It's ended well. You gotta read this too. I think you will like it too!!

Kyle was 19 yrs old, young mother of Emma 5 mos old and was left alone by her husband with no explanations. She had to do something quick, with no high school diploma, she had to move find small place, buy a rickety car to get to and from and find 2 jobs to take care of them. A job she hates, working at a stripped club and in the morning a Cafe as a waitress. Evan, a business man, wealthy, dark hair blue yes, goes in to the club one night and when Kyle goes out to dance, she feels his eyes on her. Someone asks for her for a private dance, she doesn’t do private dances, but they were offering $1000.00. And she really needed the money. Turns out to be the same man that had her eyes on her, they had connected. Kyle feels an attraction but that would be it, but they meet again, and finally goes out with Evan. They have a great time together. And one thing that turns better is that Evan loves her daughter Emma. Another man’s daughter. When finally one day Brad shows up, her husband still out of no where, after almost 2 yrs, and Kyle still hasn’t told Evan the truth, that she is still married. Things start to unfold. There are so many ups and down, Evan loves Kyle, but why did she not tell him the truth yet, Kyle is heartbroken, because out of no where her Husband Brad shows up and hopes things can go back to where they left off, he’s really sorry, and Kyle just doesn’t know what to do. She knows she loves Brad because he’s the father of her child, but does she want to go back after everything she’s been through, and Evan, she fell in love with Evan, but he has his past, and his parents, that are not making things easy for Kyle. What is Kyle to do? Well you have to buy this book, it leaves you turning page after page to see what comes next, you will not be disappointed!!!! My first read for C.A. Erin's Review You think you have read them all before, wealthy sexy as hell guy meets ordinary girl. Then there's Stripped. The one thing that stood out for me about Kylie and Evan is that they are real. Kylie is young with a baby. Couple that with a jerk husband that walks out on them and you have a scared young mother that will do anything for her child. I don't want to say she is naive, because she isn't but she's......innocent in her own way. Her hesitation about Evan are justifiable, her indecision about their relationship is believable and the love for her daughter is apparent. Evan is, well, Evan. I will be brutally honest, there were times I didn't like him very much. Oh he was still sexy as hell, but damn can he be a real ass when he isn't thinking! It was nice to see a gu act like a guy. Jealous, not always sure of every decision he made, insecure about the relationship and sometimes, just being a downright ass. But a lovable ass none the less. This is one of those books that just when you think everything works out, BAM! Reality slaps the characters in the face with yet another obstacle. That's life, and these two handled it as real as you can imagine. Their arguments had me nodding in agreement with both of them. I mean, who hasn't said something out of anger? Who hasn't stormed off before hearing the whole story? That's what I liked about this story, it was life, just a bit sexier. Kylie and Evan together are hot. You can cut the sexual tension with a knife. You want nothing but happiness for them. Especially Kylie, she's been through enough. Evan isn't without his own struggles though. Overbearing parents, trying to be molded in to something you're not, and a conniving woman hell bent on doing what she has to to be the billionaire's wife. This story shows the reader that sometimes you need to take a stand. Fight for what you want, and don't give up. It shows that even in times of desperation, there is hope that things will get better, if you persevere. I loved Kylie and Evan, and I'm sure you will too.
This book was truly amazing!! Once I started it, I did NOT want to put it down!! My heart broke for Kylie from the start. Marrying her high school sweetheart Brad and getting pregnant young was not in her plans but together they had it all......that is until Brad abandons Kylie and his baby girl Emma without a word. Left with a mountain of debt and less than $100 to her name she is forced to start selling off all her belongings and getting a job. Struggling to make ends meet at the café she is forced to get a second job, one she absolutely hates but has no other choice, a stripper. Keeping her eyes on the neon sign above the bar is the only way she makes it thru her dances, that is....until she locks eyes with the most gorgeous stranger she has ever saw. Evan Pearson...OMG, HOLLLLY SWOOON!!! When Evan lays eyes on the most beautiful woman he has ever seen he knows he wants to know her more so he requests a private dance (something Kylie does not do) When he offers a price she cannot refuse she agrees. The very next morning while working in the café Kylie runs into the one man she never thought she would see again, the gorgeous stranger from the night before. When Kylie and Evan are together the sparks between them fly. No matter how hard Kylie fights her feelings for Evan, he will not give up on her. Just when things are starting to fall in place between the two, the past will rear its ugly head and try to tear them apart. Between Kylie's ex Brad and Evan's ever controlling parents will they ever find their HEA?
If your looking for a book with family drama, hotttt and steamy scenes, awesome and amazing characters (well, except a few) and a HEA with no cliffhanger then this is the book for you!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book to all!!!
While this is not my first C.A. Harms book it definitely won't be my last!!
I have been wanting to read this book from the moment that I heard about it and Stripped did not disappoint. The title and the cover were just a clue as to how sexy this book was going to be and once again- Stripped lived up to my expectations. Kylie is young and desperate. She has a baby and a husband that has left her. She is out of hope and out of options. Her only choice is to become a stripper where she meets the enigmatic and intensely sexy Evan. Evan quickly becomes addicted to Kylie and wants to be with her but Kylie, although she is strong and independent, balks at Evan’s invitation. Deep down she is plagued with the insecurity of what she does to support herself and her baby. She doesn’t feel like she belongs in Evan’s world. Kylie hates every minute she is on the stage but knows that a girl has to do what a girl has to do to survive. But the past comes calling for both Kylie and Evan. Hers in the form on her ex husband and Evan’s in the form of a crazy ex. The unlikely pair have to fight to overcome the obstacles of their past in order to be together. Wow! This is one sexy read with enough drama and tension to make it impossible to put down. I fell hard for Evan. He was far from perfect but there was a sweetness and protectiveness to him. I loved how he took care of “his girls.” and never thought less of Kylie because of her circumstances. I did not like Evan’s judgmental parents at all. The scene where he stands up to his parents made me want to stand up and say “Yeah baby and that’s the way it’s going to be.” This is my first book by this author and I was more than impressed. I can’t wait for her next book.
I was given a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review
Aw! It's been a while since I've read a cute story with a true HEA ending! :)
Kylie woke up one morning and life as she knew it was over. Deep down, she knew this day would come, but she never wanted to believe it. Now she is left with what little cash she has in her wallet and a new baby to care for, alone. Douche bag Brad left his wife and his baby daughter behind to pick up the pieces without any warning. Hence, my nickname "douche bag Brad". Kylie is only 20 years old, a high school dropout, and has no idea how she will survive. She has to though, for Emma. She'll do anything for her daughter, even if it means losing her self respect. As she made her way to the stage one night, her eyes connected with a totally swoon-worthy guy. Sigh… Evan Pearson. Wealthy, gorgeous, magnetic Evan Pearson. Oops, I think I just drooled on my kindle screen.
ANYWAYS... This story has a lot of conflict and tension, fighting and making up, heartbreak and lots and lots of steamy make up sex. ;) What more could a girl ask for. Not to mention Evan is like a walking Hershey bar; so damn sweet. I love him. <3
Stripped is an amazing story of survival, devotion, sacrifices, and that when it comes to love, you'll do whatever you have to do. No questions asked. No matter how hard, or how shameful.
3.5 stars ARC received in return for honest review
Summary: Kylie... poor Kylie. Young bride, who married her older husband not long after high school and had a baby together. Brad, the husband, then walked out with no warning or reason, leaving a trail of debt behind. Kylie has to resort to working in a cafe by day and stripping by night. One night whilst stripping she meets Evan and they continue to bump into each other. There is a clear attraction but Kylie is determined to ignore it due to his wealth and her insecurities. Evan is a determined man. I sympathised with Kylie. She really had a hard time in life and ultimately wanted the best for her baby girl. In my eyes, she was very immature and this played out in the story. She did cry through a lot of the novel and at times I would hope she would gain some strength but then had to remind myself that she was very young. Her husband Brad, when he returned, was so incredibly annoying, I was praying for him to have an untimely death. Grrr. And Evan... well, at times he was amazing but at times I wanted to slap him for his lack of understanding. However, my character description should tell you that I did get very involved in the story and despite getting annoyed at certain characters, I couldn’t wait to finish and find out what happened. Full of angst and confusion, I wanted to do some relationship counselling.
I received an Arc from the author in exchange for an honest review
Wow! This book really kept me on my toes! I couldn't put it down and there for finished it in one day! Kylie is a young single mom who has been forced to do some things she is not so proud of. After being abandoned by her husband she finds herself in big trouble financially and raising her 5 month old all alone. Ending up working in a strip club she meets Evan her young handsome (oh and he's rich!!)knight in shinning armor:) Here are my Kylie and Evan
I don't know if I have encountered two more stubborn characters!! These two were constantly fighting!! They had people from every direction messing with them and by the time they had one misunderstanding sorted another one was right around the corner!! it was driving me crazy!!
But when they were happy it was awesome and it was a beautiful HEA :) Thanks so much C.A. Harms for allowing me to read this book.
Rating:4.5 Spoiler Alert I was given this story by the author in exchange for an honest review. This was the first book I read from this author and now its on my fav. list. I enjoyed this story very much. This story is filled with drama, a bit of alpha male, romance and love. I liked that the characters are mature and the story flowed nicely.
Kylie meets Brad (an older guy) when she is in h.s and she gets pregnant. They get married, move away and she never finished h.s. Not long after, Brad suddenly leaves ; only sending her letters ever few months so she knows he is alive. Since she never finished school she ends up becoming a stripper ( and waitress) and hates it but she does it to take care of her daughter. She refuses to go to her parents because it will prove them right. One night while dancing a pair of blue eyes lock with her eyes and he later wants a private dance. He is hot!- dark hair, blue eyes businessman. She only accepts because she knows its him. As this story continues the mysterious man and Kylie finally meet outside of the club (accidentally) and realize there is more than just attraction. Things becomes even more interesting when Brad decides to pop back in and he wants her back and she isn't so sure...
There are many ups and downs for the characters in the story but there is a very happy ending. No cliffhanger :) Highly Reccomended
I received a free copy from the author for my honest review, so here it is. This is one of those stories that will tear your heart out and piece it back together. It will keep you glued to the pages until the end, I could not put it down and finished it in less than a day. We meet Kylie in the process of looses her house, car and everything because her husband has left her and their four month old daughter and has not told her anything about why the bills were not paid and where he has gone. Kylie sells everything she can, moves to a smaller place and gets a few jobs. The cafe she tolerates and the strip club she totally hates. While working at the strip club she meets the eyes of a very handsome man and focuses on him instead of the usual club sign over the bar. He pays for a private dance from her, which she doesn't do, but for $1,000 she can't refuse. Then the next day at the cafe, guess who is seated in her section, yep Evan, the handsome man from the private dance. There is a connection between them and she tries to fight it. But can you really fight love, the heart wants what the heart wants. Can Evan and Kylie get through all the trouble thrown their way or will it tear the apart? This is the second book by C.A. Harms for me and I loved it and love her writing style. Looking forward to reading more from her!
