I really like this author. He can write simple yet comprehensive books, easy to understand and a very good reference. That is the case for this book, where at the end of each chapter there is a summary of the subject with the main formulas and concepts. A book to keep and use throughout life, always when reviewing those subjects, solving a problem or helping your child in school!
I was expecting a simple explanation of algebra but instead got way over my head. Still some people studying algebra might get something out of this book.
Good book to brush up your basics. Exercise questions are really good. Note to author: Answer for question 5 of section 3.7 is not provided. Please include it as well.
Nice little ebook. I got it for free for Kindle through Amazon. It's a short book that covers some basic but important algebra including exponents, linear equations, and quadratic equations. The author explains these in a way that makes it easy to understand (as opposed to the obscure way math is often explained in textbooks) so it may help people obtain a deeper understanding of the material than they may receive in a classroom setting, where the content is often rushed and not explained as well. Since I'm familiar with algebra, I think this would be a helpful review of the material for folx needing a quick refresher. I'm not sure how it would be for someone totally unfamiliar with algebra, but it's free so there's nothing to lose. The practice exercises and solutions were helpful as well.
Starting algebra? Revisiting algebra? This book is a good Intro with examples problems answers and an easy to read style. A good refresher or intro to the quadratic equation, factoring and more.
It not only gave us the rules but It gave just enough number of exercises for each formula to address any number of equations we are likely to encounter and it's usefulness.
I knew this stuff 40 years ago but needed an update. This was perfect - short, concise, with great examples and exercises. Got through it in a few hours. Definitions could have been better, and a couple typos, but overall just what was needed
Teaching my 11 year old daughter over the holiday period. The structure of the book is good and the questions with answers helpful to the learning process. Highly recommended!
