There are so many things I loved about this book. The language, the people, the heartbreak, the suffering, the families, the twisting in and out of time -- so lyrical, so poetic. I learned a lot and found myself googling. Is this a real person? Is this a real place? Such flawed and beautiful and hopeful people. Like a dream. Long, lush sentences and thoughts. I really should give this 5 stars, but the formatting was hard to handle and there were a lot of editing mistakes, a name changed back and forth (Merden/Meriden) eye colors changed, lots of random blank lines in the middle of sentences and paragraphs, punctuation missing. It took me out of the flow over and again, but, even so...I Loved this book. The ending was a little abrupt, but upon reflection, how else could it have ended? I will definitely check out Lyn LeJeune's other works!
