And they certainly don’t expect to find themselves trying to protect her from her own family while she comes to terms with all that she learns about herself and her past. Hyenas are nothing if not protective of their mates, and they’re willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe…and keep her forever. It wouldn’t be a Hyena Heat novel without plenty of hot m/f/m/m loving, three males who would do anything for their mate, and a female who is in need of love. Expect plenty of possessive behavior and excessive use of the word ‘mine’.

"I so Love this series" This book is amazing. The story line is awesome . Man you talk about hotties this book is full of them lol. The Women in this book are some lucky gals lol. I just love a book where you have humor,suspense,Romance,love and yes steamy sex!. The characters are fantastic.You have hot sexy Alpha males but with loving , caring hearts!. The Women are gutsy spitfires that know a good thing when they are offered it lol. You are going to love reading this book from the first page till the last one!. R.e Butler is such a sweet and caring person with the right amount of naughtiness her self that her books turn out this way to lol. You need to get this book!!!. It will give you hours of wonderful reading .

Our Lives Touch Many People
RE Butler never fails to deliver a sweet and tender romance with 3 devoted hyena males and one woman. But what I liked most about this book was the many lives affected by the woman's abduction as a child. RE Butler did a masterful job of bringing the event out and bringing it full circle to the present. But it was not just a tale of events, but a getting to know of all the people's characters and feelings. I know this may not make a lot of sense but you will understand after you read the book. Enjoy.

I was blown away by the love and passion between these 4.
Oh to have 3 hot males to look after me...I had never read about Hyenas, but now I like.
They are so sweet and take such great care for all of Whispers needs.
After a lifetime thinking she was abandoned and unloved by her biological family, Whisper finds not only 3 mates, but 3 brothers and her biological parents who have never stopped searching for her.
This story made me sweat from the passion, cry at all the love and jump for joy at the end.
You better not stop writing ever Ms. Butler, selfish much?

Every time I pick up a book by R.E Butler, I know that I will not be disappointed. The first book in the series was the first book of hers I read, so this series has always been one of my faves. I have been looking forward to this book for what seems like a long time and I loved it. The characters were lovable, witty, and HOT!
R.E Butler has an amazing talent for creating secondary characters, that leaves you just as attached to them as you were to the main ones. When I was only 10% in I was begging for other characters to get books and their HEA's (Literally!).
As always I hated to put the book down and never wanted it to end. Can't wait until the next book. Keep them coming :D

I just didn't get that Whisper went through so much and was just 'ok' with everything. She was ok with finding her mates, with finding her biological brothers, with moving, it seemed like she was just along for the drive. I want a hyena mate to have a bit of backbone!
I will say that I think that all the blurbs are dumb and really has nothing to do with the books. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the books after reading the blurb then reading the books.
I don't know if I'm interested in Bliss's book since it's about her and her mates 'performing' for owl shifters, but since the blurbs never go with the books, I'm not sure what I'll do.

I loved Whisper and her guys. Things get a might complicated for the poor girl. There are lots of revelations and hard things to get through but she's strong and determined. Az, Nyte, and Fade will do anything to make sure that Whisper is happy, they're just not sure what that is at times. It was wonderful to see how the author portrayed Whispers Adopted family. They're warm and loving, giving her the support and encouragement she needs. The exponential increase in Whisper's family circle is beautiful in its acceptance.
Highly recommended author and series.

Action packed love story and more
This may be the third book of the Hyena Heat series but it is still a self-contained story. In this story you have Kidnappings and adopted family along with new mates and found family. A Crazed old man who only wants the best for his son’s and a gathering of Hyena’s to help find mates. And that’s just to name some of what happens in this action packed love story. Well written and extremely enjoyable to read. I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Satisfying read
Hyenas are often looked down on, and in most stories are the villains. This was a wonderful story of a baby kidnapped and later abandoned who finds her mates and the answers to why she was abandoned.
The complexities of loving adoptive family, newly discovered biological family and mates is addressed with candor and you feel for Whisper. Highly recommend.

I love reading this series I knew it was going to be great and of course it did not disappoint I would recommend this book and all her books to my fellow shifter friends u will enjoy this book and be ready to read the next. I could tell that I curl up in my favorite place and read it. I could not stop reading until I had finish I hope if u read this that u get as much enjoyment that I did.

Thank god this book didn't have another abused female lead. I don't think I would have been able to hand it. This time we actually get to see a good wolf pack, and have a bad guy hyena. Our heroine in this book has a lot thrown at her in a very short span of time. I do wish we had gotten to visit with the characters from books 1 and 2 a little more, but otherwise there was much to enjoy.

I started out really liking it. This was the first shifter book, that I have read, that said they wanted to wait to mate so that they can get to know each other. I absolutely loved that. But...we didn’t get to see that happen. It said that they talked about things but we never got to hear any conversations. I don’t know anything about the men other than what they do for work. We knew all about Whisper before she met the men and the telling of herself was just really repetitive. She constantly had to repeat herself. She was always sad or upset about the same things.
My expectations of the men weren’t lived up to. In the beginning they said that Whisper would be the center of their focus and that they would do anything to make her happy. If that was the case then why were they so upset to take her to visit her birth family? Why did it take them so long to see that she wasn’t happy at all living there? It seemed to me that them wanting to propose came about because they thought it was something that was making her upset. On the other hand, we never saw anything from Whisper that indicated that was the case. We saw a woman who had nothing to do, no job, no family and none of her own family traditions. It just bothered me that they tried to use a surprise wedding as a bandaid. They used the excuse that they don’t know her well enough to see her tells. If they can smell her fear and anxiety, why couldn’t they smell her sadness? If a human can tell when another human is sad, it should have been very easy for them. Also, I thought they were so in love? When you love someone you can tell those sort of things.
This was my first book about hyenas and I think it will most likely be my last. This was the first shifter story where they don’t have heightened hearing, no telepathy, and can’t un-shift on command. The hyena mating ritual was a little too weird for me. The hoods, burning of the hair, all of the sage...it just seemed like a witch mating instead. Without extra healing, wouldn’t them biting her really freakin hurt??? It said they really sunk their teeth in and drank her blood. They loved that it would scar and be visible forever. That sounded awfully painful to me. I hated the amount of blood licking. It just made me want to puke. In other books it said that the biting always just felt good and it healed almost instantly. This wasn’t the case here. Them denning in was also a little too unbelievable in this day and age because there is no way they could keep a job like that. Even with special treatment for being a shifter. I know, I’m reading a shifter romance so it is all unbelievable but there is just a way of mixing fantasy with real world that has a balance to me. This one wasn’t well balanced in my eyes. I’ll just stick to wolves and bears in the future.

A wonderful read that has so much happening all over the place.

Have owned this book for ages. Previous review from back of book is missing but no hardship to reread.
I have enjoyed nearly everything by this author since I first bought a book at the beginning of 2012. (Apart from Cadence and Jason's behaviour in Callie and the Cats). I have been along for the journey with Ms Butler since then and have everything she has written. All her books are enjoyable reads and are kept fresh with interesting plots. You can see which way the story is going but still enjoy the ride along with her characters.

This one will make you laugh, cry and leave you longing for more!
Just like books 1 & 2, I was soo engrossed that I lost tract of time! I love that I'm in tune enough to feel the emotions that Whisper feels. I often find myself smiling/ crying, that's the best part this series sucks you right in!

Raised by wolves, Were-hyena Whisper Callahan’s life is suddenly turned upside down when she attends an annual were-hyena gathering and finds herself torn between the past, the present and her future in this sweetheart of a paranormal romance.
Whisper had no idea what to expect at a were-hyena gathering but to find that hyenas usually had multiple mates was a surprise and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as the Whisper is suddenly thrust into an turbulent emotional quandary as not only does she find her mates - Nyte, Azrael and Fade, she finds her biological family as well. These strong compelling characters take readers by storm from the very beginning and the fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of excitement, suspense and romance while the attraction heats up the pages the brothers have their work cut out for them in trying to help their mate through all the changes happening in her life.
Expectation builds as the story progresses through each of the changes happening in Whisper’s life and Nyte, Fade and Azrael are plaqued with the question of if their mate is happy to leaving everything she’s every known to live with them but there is also danger as someone from the past has set their sights on Whisper once again. The well written scenes and details paint vivid images and bring the story to life as the well planned events ensure that the readers can’t put the book down.

I'm a HUGE fan of shifter stories and R.E. Butler is one of my favorites in this genre. She won me over with Jason & Cadence (The Wolf's Mates series) and has continued to draw me in with each new book/series. She is definitely on my auto-buy list of authors.
The Hyena Heat series is a particular favorite of mine. Each book in this series just gets better and better. I grow to love each new foursome introduced more than the last. I cannot wait for Bliss's book next. So looking forward to that one and learning more about her and her guys.
LOVED LOVED LOVED Nyte, Az, Fade and Whisper. Loved how their relationship developed and how each had their own role. Nyte as the leader, Az as the nurturer and Fade as the protector and they all revolved around Whisper. *sigh* This was such a unique story that captured me immediately. I was torn because I wanted to read faster to find out how everything worked out but at the same time I didn't want the story to end. Whisper was pulled in so many directions but all of them were good. How overwhelming for her to find her mates and her biological family and for her best friend to find her mates all happening at the same time. So good!! And I loved how the wolf pack accepted her as one of their own when she was brought to Mac. Loved the ending with Whispers big blended family.
Oh...How could I forget...the sex...vera vera nice!!! Not only was it hot and steamy but it was intimate and caring and I loved the moments with them in bed together just talking and cuddling. How they shared a bond as a foursome but also how they each bonded with Whisper as three separate couples.

When he took her in he knew she was a shifter but not what kind & it wasn't until she shifted at age 16 that they found out that she was a hyena. Mack sent Whisper, her 2 brothers & her best friend Bliss with her to the gathering so that she could maybe find out a little more about what it means to be a hyena &/ or to find her mate. So, she went but 1st found that her biological family has never given up trying to find her when her brothers came forward after hearing her laugh because she sounded like their mom. When her brothers actually saw her they told her that she looked like their mom also. The next day she met her mates, Nyte, Azrael & Fade & her friend Bliss met her mates too which happen to be Whisper's biological brothers.

I totally love this series! This book is about Whisper who at the age of 2 yr old was kidnapped from her warm and loving home. She ended up being found beside a dead prostitute, and was then taken to a wolf pack Alphas home, who decided to raise her together with his 2 boys as his own. Now in her 20s she's on a road trip to attend the "GATHERING" where male hyenas and females meet to see if they are mates. It was certainly a surprise that not only did she meets her mates but her biological brothers as well who also found their mate in her best friend who along with her 2 adopted brothers came with her. Things are going well for her and her mates, her new found family and adopted one too, until another attempted kidnapping forced her to defend herself. This like the other 2 books were an excellent read and cannot wait for Bliss and her mates book to come out. So gutted that I definitely thought it might be their friend Angel's book that might next, but never mind! Still love this series!.

This is the first book in the series that I have read. It works as a stand alone, but it does make you want to read the first two. I enjoyed the storyline, and found the characters endearing. I did have a problem with Whisper, who was so emotional during the entire book. I truly liked the idea of a blended family, Whisper is a hyena adopted by wolves with best friends with a wolf and human. There are many plots happening in this story, who kidnapped Whisper as a child and will they strike again. Will Whisper bond with her 3 mates. Will Whisper find her orginal family? I wish this story was longer so that the characters could be more developed. But this story is very enjoyable and I did not put it down until I read the end. I love RE Butler and enjoy many of her series.

Whisper does not want to know where she came from. Her father wants her to go to the Gathering to meet other Hyenas. When her brothers and one of her best friends say they would go with her then she agrees to it. Whisper never thought she would ever meet her blood relatives or her mates.
Mute, Fade and Azrael is going to the gathering hoping their would be females there. They are going to have fun until they catch a lovely smell and they can't believe they finally found their mate. They soon realize that's their mate has a lot of things she needs to deal with and they are going to give Whisper all they support to see her through meeting her blood family.

With a bit of mystery, lots of hot sex and loving mates, plus a big loving family, this has everything you could want is a great read. As with all of Butler's books, there is lots of caring, loving, men who take care of their woman but allow her to also be herself. (boy, what would I give for just one of these and these women get three!!! If you are looking for a light, fun read, this is it. But don't forget this is part of a series, so you will want them all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I loved Whisper and her guys. Things get a might complicated for the poor girl. There are lots of revelations and hard things to get through but she's strong and determined. Az, Nyte and Fade will do anything to make sure that Whisper is happy, they're just not sure what that is at times. It was wonderful to see how the author portrayed Whispers Adopted family. They're warm and loving, giving her the support and encouragement she needs. The exponential increase in Whispers family circle is beautiful in its acceptance.

Another great Butler book! I've yet to read a "bad" book by this author! It started sad but grew to be a loving, happy, family oriented book. I loved getting to see the other clans in the baro and meeting Whisper's huge family. I'd say more, but anything else would be a big spoiler and that's no fun ;) I look forward to Bliss and her men's book out next year!
Highly recommended! For the best enjoyment read the previous two books first!
